Kog45:I disagree sir. Turkey actually has some very good players, Gular of Real Madrid, Yildiz of Juventus, Calhoglu of Inter, Kadoiglu of Brighton etc, they should be doing better than they did. Don't forget they have won 3rd place before at the WC in 2002. Brazil struggled to beat them then at the Semi finals. |

Kog45:I think that in part was due to the presence of "creative" DMs/CMs like Oliseh. The buildup play of that team wasn't as predictable as it is today. Any team that intends to stifle the current SE simply have to "control" Iwobi. Morocco gave the blueprint at the last AFCON. |

The more African teams lose or drop points vs Teams, especially those lower than them in the rankings, the more they fall behind. The more they win (either vs higher or lower ranked) or earn a pt vs a higher ranked team, the more they are likely to go up the rankings. Morocco gained 14pts for their win vs Scotland and have gone above Portugal into 6th. Scotland lost same 14pts and went down below 42nd initially but are up to 41st for now due to other results. Also, the teams around us in the world rankings, if they lose or win, they either go above us or below us depending on how many pts is attached to a loss or a win. Australia losing to USA saw them lose 21pts... so they drop slightly below Nigeria pushing us into 24th in the world on the live rankings currently. Turkey also losing pushed them downwards to 32nd for now. They lost 29pts after losing to lower ranked Paraguy. So this is how it will continue till WC is over by 19th July. By then we will know for sure where all teams rank in the next official World rank update by July 20th (a day after the WC final). charlesemeka85: |

Kog45:No. 2024 Euros Turkey was mad impressive. They lost narrowly in the quarterfinals in game with Netherlands that was a triller. In 2025 they qualified to league A of Nations league (top 16 UEFA teams). Turkey was on a rising trajectory. This WC is a massive drop in performance. |

Kog45:Okocha may not have started but if memory serves me well, they had Oliseh Oliseh is known for accurate long passes. We don't have any DM of that calibre today We just don't have such players right now and their Ebenezer Akinsanmiro na carpenter |

They were rated 22 before the world cup started, higher than Nigeria. Unless the performance of players in domestic clubs in the country's league are considered in the calculation of fifa rankings, im not sure what connection Osimhen has in relation to the country. They just decided to be useless, despite the expectation of good performance placed on them and the motorcade their country used to do send off for them. Kog45: |

Kog45:You have a point in saying that osimhen raised the profile and popularity of Turkish football And that's why I think Osimhen needs to leave rather than waste his prime years in galatasaray |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by mostob(m): 6:22pm On Jun 20 |
So many things are wrong with this Sweden team. The midfield can't progress play and the strikers are not good aerially. They're both doing what they know how to do best - running the channel but the GK is dishing poor kicks. In a two striker system, you either pair a good finisher (Gyokeres) with a ball playing SS (e.g.Havertz) or a player who is good aerially (Brobbey!! Giroud!) |
