To be fair, I personally have reservations about the whole COVID thing as well as the speed at which vaccines were developed but I don't think there is anything special there the way you are theorizing.

They had been developing vaccines for years..At least from 2000 onwards.
Big pharma saw it as the next frontier. mRNA vaccines are easy to produce. Grow substrates in a lab. Get any disease and modify the gene .
They just maintain gene maps of the disease and can easily modify the genetical structures on the fly literally.
I became suspicious when Pfizer announced it's vaccine the day Joe Biden was declared the winner .They should have been releasing progress throughout the year ,It would have benefitted Trump campaign.
A vaccine takes over 20 years in cases to develop and test.
Pfizer announced suddenly and within four weeks were already shipping the vaccine.
