The Abachas were very close to the rivers people especially the riverine and they made sure ijaw state of bayelsa was created .

On Tinubu, you are mixing things up.

There was the pre-June 12 and also post June 12 period. Yes, Tinubu was not a beneficiary of military money but his mother, Abibatu Mogaji, was the head of Lagos market women. He was rolling mainly with Yomi Edu but well connected within the Lagos Island traditional wealth circle.

Yomi Edu connected him with MKO Abiola and he was very rich even at that point. He later became a Senator around 1991. June 12 finished many in his circle, they all saw hell but Tinubu was never an activist, he found his calling as a politician so his ways have always been flexible. Many NADECO mentioned that about him. Whether that is positive or negative depends on the observer.
