Good morning brethren, happy Sunday to you all.
Imagine handing an officer ₦50,000 at a checkpoint just to avoid a traffic ticket, only to later discover that the actual official fine for that offence was just ₦2,000.

One time the VIO told me I was driving without a razor blade in my first aid. I told them I didn't know and I'd buy it along the way but they insisted I settled them ₦10k or we go to the office. Yeah, they started preaching about the law being not emotional. They saw I was in a hurry and they wanted to reap where they didn't show.

Normally I don't stop for them on the road.. because there is a standing court order restricting them from being on the road..and if they disobey that, why would I obey them? But the congestion in the traffic was tortoise slow. Like the officer had to call his boss and the boss stood firm reiterating what they wanted. I asked how to pay and he told me he'll call a POS girl closeby..that they don't accept transfer. Lol. I firmly told him I wanted to pay the fine directly to the govt, and I have Remitta and en come bi like then everywhere got frozen. I saw the frowns on their face as I did it via Remitta.

Same thing with the Road Safety and the police. They will always threaten to take you to he office. Why are you scared to go!

But you see those VIO thieves, they are are extremely wicked. All of them won't ever make heaven.
If you try to proof you know the law and want to pay at the bank, they will deliberately become mean and they will simply take you to their office and fill ridiculous amounts for you to go and pay in the bank. Even when you pay, they will disappear and won't be available to release your car that day.

There was one time a traffic light was faulty along Area 11 in Abuja. The lights turns Green and after 5 seconds, it goes Red, so drivers will pass the Traffic light thinking it is still Green. That was where VIO deliberately went and stood a few meters ahead to be corruptly arresting people and extorting money that they beat traffic light. I fell victim for them once and they refused to listen to my innocence or explanation. I parted with 10k which they told me to go pay at the bank as I insisted when they took me to their office.
I cursed all of them involved that the will lose their jobs before tej year runs out.
And nearly all of them did when VIO downsized.

Of all the criminal organizations on Lagos road (VIO, ROAD SAFETY, POLICE & LASTMA), I prefer Police the most. Those ones, once you reason them 1K or 2K, dem don comot face.

But you see those ROAD SAFETY GUYS, if dem catch you for road, forget it. They will quote all the unquotables just to extort you. And worst of all, their charges are always exorbitant (according to the type of car you're driving).

Nigeria still has a long way to go.

Passing Mile 2 towards LASU / Okokomaiko / Badagry will make you hate FRSC... The way that road is constructed favours them. They said a newly bought Tokunbo tire has expired and they gave me a ticket of 3k. I brought out my card to pay, only for them to say I will go and pay in the office because it was weekend. I entered the car, thank God I didn't switch off. I zoomed off when they think I just wanted to pick my phone.

Infact one of them said because it was weekend, my vehicle will be in their office and I will come pick it on Monday after I have paid to Bank. I zoomed off.

What would one do in such a situation guys?

oh ok, but I was stopped not too long ago that my plate number was not visible enough though I ended up not paying anything and I was sure one of them said they should bring the machine that I can use my card to pay when I said I don't move with cash.... maybe those mofos just move with pos to extort ppl tho.

Try to avoid them when you can if caught just settle, these fines are useless outside city centres or in the highway especially those ones surrounded by bushes.
Kidnappers have started using their uniforms to operate.

As a rule of thumb, I don't stop for any uniformed person on secluded highway, especially those that wear slippers!
