Group Accuses Tinubu’s Aide of working for Kwara Governor to install an unpopular candidate

Arewa Civil Liberty group has accused the Kwara state Governor , Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Working with an Aide to President Tinubu to impose an unpopular Candidate .

The Group Spokesperson, Ishaq AbdulAzeez said The recent statement by the Elders Caucus of the Kwara State chapter of the APC, in which it openly denounced Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, contains a particularly troubling allegation that should concern every Nigerian who cares about the safety of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the integrity of the Presidential Villa.

The Caucus alleged that certain aides of the President are working hand in glove with the Kwara State Governor to foist an unpopular governorship candidate on the people of Kwara State.

We have since confirmed from credible sources within the elders’ circle that the particular presidential aide referenced in the statement is Col. Nurudeen Alowonle Yusuf, the Aide-de-Camp to the President and an indigene of Kwara State.

Col. Yusuf was recently appointed as the Elemona of Ilemona, following the demise of his father in 2025. There are now serious allegations that Governor Abdulrazaq has compromised him with multi-billion Naira contracts of renovation of Kwara State Secretariat complex, and a promise of rapid elevation from a third-class traditional ruler to a first-class monarch, provided he helps deliver the governor’s anointed candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, as the next Governor of Kwara State.

Already, in what many consider an unprecedented development, the Elemona was elevated from third class to second class within less than seven months of his appointment.

It is also alleged that the Governor has promised an automatic ticket to the ADC’s elder brother, Hon. Yusuf Musa Atoyebi, to return to the Kwara State House of Assembly.

Further to his deal with the Governor, he's expected to book an appointment with the President within the week for select traditional rulers from Kwara in order to further hoodwink the President to endorse the controversial candidate whether it's in the interest of the party or not. This is despite that the Governor had endorsed a philanthropist, Amb. Yahaya Seriki-Gambari for the post before.

These are grave allegations. They touch not only on Kwara politics, but also on the integrity of the Presidency and the security architecture around the President.

We therefore call on the Presidency and relevant security agencies to urgently investigate these claims, establish the truth, an

We that know Kwara and some of its people don't know anyone or group known as Kwara Arewa Group. They can't be Arewa or whatever they call themselves more than Rt.Hon Danladi and other APC primary produced nominated candidates.

APART FROM A STATE POLICE IN KWARA, THERE MUST BE STRONG INDEPENDENT AMOTEKUN IN ALL THE FOREST OF OYO AND KWARA STATES.
ISESE GROUP AND IGBOHO MUST BE STREATHENED.

The Governor has really done well with regards to allowing fairness to reign...he is a man of honour.

His Excellency is from Kwara Central and these charlatans still want him to hand over to someone from the same region. This region has produced 3 Governors(Lawal, Saraki and the incumbent) from 1999 till now.

His Excellency Abdulfatah Ahmed who hails from Kwara South is the only outlier and many even view his administrstion as an extension of Saraki's administration.

So it is not out of place to have a Governor from Kwara North. The last time this happened was in 1992 during the brief democratic dispensation under IBB.

The only crime the Governor has commited is being fair. Kwara Central has spent 20 years leading the state while Kwara South has 8 years.


It is the turn of Kwara North to produce the Governor......a primary was conducted and a candidate emerged. Every sane and loyal party member should get behind the winner instead of this show of shame.

Mohammed lawal was a Yoruba man, Co adebayo was a Yoruba man, salaudeen olatinwo, Ibrahim taiwo was a Yoruba man, even the current governor is a Yoruba man I wonder where you guys got your skewed opinion about Kwara. You are at best ignorant of the goings in the state
