The truth is that,that "truest goat" question were supposed to carry a laughing emoji,not to trigger a debate about Messi vs R7,but I forgot.

As you must have noticed I'm not a die hard fanatic blinded by one sided devotion,
who had wished R7 to join the goal party and tipped Mbappe to outscore Messi.

Going by how the Messi fanboys have disturbed this thread since the WC began and even attacked me for simply updating the thread as a neutral, I think I am within my rights to call them delusional.

And you still have not wished Messi happy Birthday. Now rest this matter and do so.

I must admit that I really underestimated this Ghana team. Football is really a strange sport. Ghana, a couple of months ago, looked like they were going to be the weeping boys in this World Cup. Just like Nigeria in the 2023 Afcon, where expectations were very low, which kind of took all the pressure off them and allowed them to play with house money that took them all the way to the finals, I believe this Ghanaian team can actually shock a lot of people because the expectation for this team in Ghana before the world were low; in fact, some of my Ghanaian friends before the World Cup were simply praying for Ghana not to be embarrassed, and now they are actually beginning to believe in this team.

Carlos Queiroz has done a tremendous job really organizing this team and making them difficult to beat. I'm not saying Ghana will get to the semi finals or finals, but this Ghana team, with a little bit of luck, can actually go further in this competition than a lot of the more fancied African sides like Morocco and Ivory Coast. Make no mistake about it; they completely nullified that England team yesterday. They are not as talented as Ivory Coast, Senegal, Algeria, or Morocco, but they are actually the most organized and drilled African team I have seen so far.

Unlike other African teams that are vulnerable on set pieces and cornerkicks, the Ghanaian team completely dominated and nullified England set pieces and cornerkicks yesterday. This aspect of the game are actually England's greatest strength, and for Ghana to have dominated them in that aspect of the game yesterday tells a lot about the grit in that team.

Yes, they are offensively limited, which might come back to bite them, but their defense will always keep them in the game, and with a player like Antoine Semenyo, who can pull off individual brilliance on any given day, this team can actually shock the world and make a deep run into the quarterfinals.

It is the best path for him now even though he has openly wanted Nigeria. Na him do himself by featuring for Togo as an academy player in their CHAN qualifiers back in 2017 ahead of the 2018 CHAN so he should just follow the Togo path. Togo have some decent talents in their ranks such as Kevin Denkey now in the MLS and Kevin Boma of RB Salzburg. Together with Orban, they could cook.

The players screening/selection strategy looks decent from Coach Eboboritse's words. After the China trip with a predominantly U15 team from last year, the best performers there will be called into camp alongside the best from subsequent screenings and selections ahead of the WafuB U17 Afcon Qualifiers.

I have liked his profile from day 1 since I mentioned him (2022 period I think) while he was in Norway's 2nd division but the sad reality is that it is a tough situation to sort out. The Togolese no wan gree so we have to let it go.

Official: Benfica renews contract with striker that Marco Silva will observe.

Peter Osayande Edokpolor, a 19-year-old winger/forward, has renewed his contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica, strengthening his connection to the club at an important stage of his development — he is one of the players who will be present at pre-season training to be observed by the first team coach, Marco Silva.

In statements to BTV, the young Nigerian international highlighted the significance of this moment in his career: he stated that the renewal "means a lot" to him and expressed his happiness at "renewing with this incredible club".
