You forgot to mention service and repair records. Also check for rust for signs of flooding otherwise you'll cry. Timing belt for V6 cars as well needs to be checked. |

@topfans A LEAN MIXTURE and a RICH MIXTURE refer to the air-fuel ratio (AFR) in an internal combustion engine: ✅ A lean mixture has more air and less fuel than the ideal stoichiometric ratio (14.7:1 for petrol). It burns cleaner, improves fuel economy, and reduces CO emissions but can cause engine overheating, knocking, and power loss if too lean. ✅ A rich mixture has more fuel and less air than stoichiometric. It provides more power (useful during acceleration or cold starts), keeps the engine cooler, but increases fuel consumption and emissions like unburnt hydrocarbons and CO. Modern engines use sensors (like the oxygen sensor) and ECUs to maintain the right mixture for different operating conditions. |

Why You Should Check a Vehicle's VIN History Learn about past accidents: A VIN report can reveal whether the vehicle has been involved in collisions and the extent of any reported damage. Review ownership history: Find out how many people have owned the vehicle and identify frequent ownership changes that could indicate potential issues. Spot title problems: Check if the car has been declared salvage, rebuilt, flood-damaged, or written off, which may affect its safety and resale value. Verify the mileage: Compare recorded odometer readings to help detect possible mileage fraud or tampering. Check theft records: Confirm whether the vehicle has ever been reported stolen or recovered. View available service records: Some VIN history reports include maintenance and repair information, giving insight into how well the vehicle has been cared for. Identify open recalls: Discover whether the manufacturer has issued any unresolved safety recalls. Reduce buying risks: Access to a vehicle's history allows you to negotiate with confidence and avoid expensive surprises after purchase.
