Pufffss! grin UK that can't defend or protect their country at the moment, they don't even have any army left nor even weapon to fight, people are refusing to sign up. The UK defence minister resigned last month due to lack of funds

The US can do more than the UK
Nigeria has longer established ties with UK, you'll also find that UK's defence budget is more than Nigeria's entire national budget. I think we just need to build from somewhere.

You got the narrative wrong, their main issue is about how much % increase the defence budget should have over time given anticipated change in relationship with US and Russian threat. The current budget is still the 2nd biggest in Europe and 20 times our own defence budget!

Okay, if you say so. grin their army veterans are suffering from post war depressions and all over the streets of the UK homeless and begging for food. Their barracks are empty, used to house asylum seeker and refugees.

Second biggest budget in Europe indeed! grin

Which Joint Security Committee?
All of our security Chiefs were present and not a single military British personnel was there.
They now wanted to mislead people by posting previous training video of Americans military pictures.

If you check now, you may find out that huge financial expenditure may have been spent on this engagement.

Nigeria, who do us

Well, facts and figures show they have the 2nd biggest in Europe. Spends 2.4% of GDP (over $85bn) and there's a move to push it to 2.68%. Some think this isn’t a big enough increase, hence the defence sec resignation.

You'll find that even US with biggest defence budget by far also has issues with Veteran welfare,.issues aren't unique to UK.
UK and the wider Europe obviously need to increase their defence budget due to the anticipated reduction in US support and the growing Russia and maybe China threat.
UK was spending 5% gdp on defence during the cold war but everything else was impacted. I reckon they'll reach 3 to 3.5% for defence over the next 10years.

So UK still has influence and some power, making it right for the aliance with Nigeria. Unfortunately, Nigeria cannot provide much by way of funds at the moment, perhaps could help with intelligence. UK is top 3 globally within intelligence with their international Mi6

One person wrote:

"Not a single British security official was present. They now posted old photos of American training to bamboozle us".

When people post nonsense like this they often assume that I would want to argue with them. It's quite the opposite.

I want to give that post as much publicity as possible so that everybody can see it. Why?

Because sensible people know that it's the UK High Commission that posted the photos and videos of their general's visit to Nigeria and sensible people know who the UK National Security Adviser is. So they can easily make their judgement about the individual.

Meeting like this are fine but pampering the arrested terrorists with slots in Nigeria Army, giving them amnesty under repentant program is not a wise idea.
Uk and US with our elites all have their hands in insecurity in Nigeria for their gains that’s why they will never speak against it, especially in your US Congress. All these repentant terrorist started when your APC took over Nigeria cc hell anus and sarki

I get the concern. On paper, the alliance should be for mutual benefit. Nigeria will need to bring something to the table though and make clear what it wants from UK, otherwise it can be taken advantage of.

Exactly, the UK never does nothing that doesn't benefits them. My believe is they are here to take, take, take and take regardless perhaps gives little back, it's that simple.. paper or no paper..

I am deeply concerned about the state of security in our country. The numerous meetings and discussions do not mean much to me if they do not translate into effective action. Security is too important to be treated as a political issue.
I find it difficult to understand policies that involve the rehabilitation and reintegration of former Boko Haram members, especially when there are discussions about giving them roles connected to national security. Many citizens worry about the potential risks and believe that leaders should prioritize public safety, justice, and the trust of the people.
Leadership requires wisdom, integrity, and sensitivity to the concerns of citizens. Those entrusted with public office should always act in the best interest of the nation. Ultimately, every leader is accountable for the decisions they make, both before the people and before God
