Sha pray South Africa no win Canada. Cos if they do, it won't even matter if they lose in the Round of 16 cos they will already have something we don't: a win in the knockout stages of the World Cup.

Hey thanks again, NFF.
Winter ni... Canada will stop them. By the way, Nigeria got to RO16.. This is RO32 please

For someone whose national team goals contribution has been suboptimal ever since, vinicious's finishing during this world cup has been a welcome development. Better for them since raphinha has not been as effective as expected and neymar is what he is now.

Just your typical African player. This attitude is the reason why no sub-Saharan African team will advance to the finals of the World Cup in our lifetime. Low-ambition and low-self-esteem players in the national teams with an inferiority complex.

The problem with the African man is how short-sighted he is. Everything that rings in his brain is what he is seeing right in front of him rather than a strategic, ambitious plan. You scored 10 goals in La Liga last season despite being away at AFCON for weeks; 15-plus goals this season for Sevilla will get you a move to a well-established Premier League team or top 6 sides in Serie A, La Liga, or Ligue 1 in France.

They probably offered him a little bit more money than what he was making in Sevilla, and he decided to take the money over career progression. This is just an absolutely terrible move, but I am not surprised. These Nigerian players often lack ambition and motivation to reach the highest levels in football.

Wait first na until the deal is confirmed before you conclude.

Akor Adams doesn't seem like the one with this low low thing you are describing him with

There is nothing like "these Nigerian players lack ambition and motivation to reach the highest level",
it's not all their fault, it's more difficult for Nigerians especially to get signed by the top top clubs, and they can't sign themselves.

Or do you think Osimhen for instance lacked ambition?
Why haven't the top clubs signed him?
It was only Galatasaray that came to his rescue with as low as €75m when Napoli was dealing with him.
But the top clubs were busy buying other players he was better than with huge amounts of money.

🇳🇬 West Ham have submitted a €30 million bid for Chibuike Nwaiwu, but Trabzonspor are holding firm and will not consider offers below €35 million.

The Nigerian defender remains a top target for the Hammers, with negotiations expected to continue.

Hasan Tüncel: "Fulham had offered 15 million Euros to Trabzonspor for Chibuike Nwaiwu. According to the latest information we have, they have even gone above 20 million Euros, but Trabzonspor rejected this offer. Trabzonspor's demand is around 30 - 35 million Euros."

📸OFFICIAL: Bristol City have signed midfielder Gibson Yah from the Netherlands’ Eredivisie side Volendam for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Dutch youth international has signed a four-year deal until the summer of 2030.

Joining Ajax’s youth academy at the age of 11, Yah made his professional debut for the club’s reserve side Jong Ajax at the age of 17.

Making the move to Utrecht in the summer of 2022, his performances for their reserve side earned him a move to Volendam, where he made 26 appearances in the top flight of Dutch football last season.

Yah, City’s third signing in 48 hours following Sam Tickle and Sam Greenwood, said: “James Ellis and Michael Skubala showed me their vision. They told me the plans they have for me and especially the trust they were speaking about.

“I’m here to show them what I can do. I don’t like to speak words, so I prefer to show it on the pitch and I will do my best for the club and for the team to make sure I succeed.

“It’s going to be a new environment for me, but I think I’m in good hands here. I can’t wait to get started, get on the pitch with the boys and show what I can do.”

Manager Michael Skubala said: “We’re really pleased to bring Gibson to Bristol City. He’s an exciting young player with a lot physical and technical attributes that we look for and we are excited to work with him.”

Sporting Director James Ellis added: “Gibson is a player that helps us provide depth and will fit into the group.

“We will support his growth and development with us upon his arrival as he gets used to life in England and the demands of the game here.

“It’s been a really positive week with three new signings and the players returning for pre-season testing.

“Meeting some of the fans this week you can feel how passionate they are about this club and we hope these early signings will add to their excitement about the new season.”

Many go just dey blame our players as if it is easy, most of our players especially Nigeria born are from poor homes,so money is the motivational factor....

I can say much about Awoniyi Taiwo, yes his Dad was a prison officer, not top or mid officer but low cadre, his mum petty trader, struggling for survival,so money is just the factor in any of their decisions, saw Okocha recently in Benz GT63 2023 model meaning he got it right financially.........Taiwo Awoniyi was in town recently and a locsl journalist asked him,why not big big cars cuz he preffered using relatively old Sienna anytime in town, his replied was simple, buying 500m to a billion naira car,my papa go flog me o.

It is like blaming anyone that left what we perceived as a good job here for hustling job in US,UK or Canada, what matter most in this life is how you secure your family future financially, nothing more.....a friend of mine years back left banking job as a branch manager to Canada, when asked why,he said anytime he wake up he always crying for his children cuz he was failing as a father and only way out for him who is from poor home is to secure their future,he left and his happy for that decision.

This players are humans and they need to secure their futures financially cuz at the end we would asked them what do they used their money for aftet retiring.

Thompson Oliha dead with no money,he came to Ilorin as assistant to Westerhoff in KFA but guess what, nothing,he was broke and i asked him why,he said he did not had fulfilled financial club career like others, depression killed him, always smoking, drinking heavily...I have many ex footballers as friends and i can tell you it is not easy for them financially, some got addicted to drugs, some die due to depression, some are on Awoniyi monthly stipends ...now i do not blame players who chooses money cuz poverty na bad thing o
