We have had two retired military men, two former military Heads of State return to lead in mufti and led for a combined 16 years, both with such considerable baggage from their military days you naturally expect them to perpetuate themselves in power by all and every means, yet the political space was never this vicious, never this hijacked and held hostage this way.

Not since 1999 have we been this close to absolute autocracy or it's alter ego, military rule. Mr Tinubu will certainly be remembered infamously for this.....this period. There will surely be a lot of books to be written, a lot of whitewashing with the tears of regret.

Only a very weak athlete fears any kind of fair contest and demands for the disqualification of all the strong contestants before the start of a tournament very shameful behavior. It's just like Ronaldo asking fifa to ban messi, mpappe, kane, haaland etc.. in this year's fifa world cup tournament so that he can win the trophy before the start of the tournament.
