South Korea really messed up with that stupid performance against SA. They are ranked 8 on the best third place with qualification only possible in the event algeria loses against austria or Uzbekistan draw or win against DRC.

FiFA should dead the talk of 64 nations WC. Yes they will make more money but it will lose its appeal.
I honestly can't believe it's even a conversation. Expanding this tournament to 64 is the fastest way to ruin the appeal of the tournament. Imagine one third of FIFA's entire member countries participating in the World Cup.

Egypt take on Australia in the Round of 32.

Confirmed Round of 32 Fixtures...

Germany v Paraguay

France v Sweden

SA v Canada

Netherlands v Morocco

USA v Bosnia-Herzegovina

Brazil v Japan

CIV v Norway

Argentina v Cape Verde

Australia v Egypt
Easy fixture for Egypt. Cape Verde "parked the bus" against Spain, they will probably do the same against Argentina, though may be unlucky this time.

Truly a very good fixture for Egypt. Even SA got a good fixture .Canada is not France or Spain. Morocco, ivory coast and Cape Verde have tough battles to fight

Morocco could shock the Dutch, SA could shock Canada but with home support Canada can scale through, Cape Verde o ti lo, Ivory Coast hmm facing Haaland could be a disaster. If Egypt can’t beat Australia then what are they doing at the world cup

Sudan aren’t Arabic per se but they played in the Arab cup if I’m not mistaken

Sorry to disagree but they’re not shocking the Dutch. Netherlands na Morocco senior brother.

It’s an annoying fixture for round 32 and worst Morocco could possibly have. I prefer Morocco playing Argentina or England than the Dutch.

The Moroccans can match the Dutch man for man and skill for skill and if they are not wasteful with their opportunities like they did against Scotland who says they can’t beat the Dutch

Exactly. Not to talk of the financial strain. At 48 teams right now I imagine there'd never be one country hosting alone.

Argentina and Cape Verde will face each other in the Round of 32 of the World Cup. Another easy path for Messi and his comrades. Messi about to clinch golden boot after this game.

they are called persians and they speak farsi. The reason you might think they are arabs is because of location, skin color and religion.
Sudan is part of the Union of arab football association. Their arab connection is quite sketchy as they are not ethnically arab but a history of arab migration, inter marriage between them and early years arab traders makes them eligible to participate i guess. Not really sure of the dynamics of their eligibility in that competition

I've been impressed with the shots from outside the box in this WC. That thing seemed to have been dying out due to overemphasis on recycling the ball until openings show.

Lookman, FDB, Onyeka and now Azeez have some shots in their legs. Chelle needs to incorporate sequences that gives opportunities for gbim!

Na tikitaka o the soaking garri system taking the shine and entertainment out of football.

Kudos to the players taking those shots and giving us joy, anyone wey say their yam no go done their water too no go boil 😂

Argentina's possible path to the quarterfinals of the World Cup 2026:

· R32: Cape Verde
· R16: Australia or Iran
· Quarterfinals: Algeria, Switzerland, Colombia, or Croatia

Argentina will not face any big team until the semifinals, the easiest path for them. 👀

African teams were given 10 slots. Unprecedented by FIFA

All naija had to do was get at least 1 of those slots. Not 2, just 1.

We didn't. We didn't qualify for 2022 and now again, we didn't

What makes this more painful?? We have at least 6 African teams in the knockout stages (if I'm not mistaken) - this is unprecedented as well

But no, some people will rather you smooth the ego of players who don't see playing for the National team as thwir pride and joy

In as much as we can blame the NFF and Finidi George, the players share a huge chunk of that blame

Games you should've won at home, you draw such that you garnered a measly 2 point from several games

Yet you want to go to the world cup.

God of soccer gave you a second chance against DRC, yet you couldn't get over the hump. But no, Super Eagles players are world class...lolllll

In a working country:

The entire NFF would've resigned, including the fake guardiola called Eguaveon

Some players should never be invited to the Super Eagles again. Chukwueze should've been disciplined for the comments he made after missing that penalty at AFCON. No need for rafiu durosinmi, Bonifsce or arokodare. These ones aren't footballers but faux-yahoo guys with athleticism.

A sports psychologist should've been hired for the National teams. They seem to become lily-livered at critical games.

Sports minister should've been asked to resign

Finidi shouldn't have been allowed to coach even in the NPFL because he even failed there before failing on a grand stage at the Senior Team

Our grassroots football would've been taken seriously. I see some people defending age-chesting on this thread - "na you born am"

Last last, it'll be rinse and repeat.

Don't worry, I am quite sure that if nothing drastic is done, they'll miss the world cup again next time amd waste osihmen and lookmans prim

Na here we dey.

NFF has turned the national team to ridicule in the eyes of other Africans

Very demonic organization that has nothing good in mind for national team

Ghana must top group L or finish 3rd best conceding 1 goal against them...finishing 2nd in group L isnt an option. Both round 32 and round 16 games for 2L runner up is being played in Canada meaning Ghanaian player Thomas Partey who has been denied visa by Canada misses both games if Ghana make it that far

🚨 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗖𝗨𝗣 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧: The Super Eagles remain the ONLY African team to finish top of their FIFA World Cup group in back-to-back tournaments.

✅ 1994
✅ 1998
A record that has stood for nearly 30 years.

I see it as a 50/50 game however the Moroccans should watch it the Dutch have so far proven to be very sharp in front of goal.

The Moroccans will try to dominate possession but the Dutch have shown (example Japan game) they don't need to monopolize the ball to hurt you.

Goke7:
