Owambe have sent so many people back to their village Imagine going to owambe on average of 2 times in a month, you are not only buying Aso ebi, you will sow it, probably buy a new shoe, gift the person doing the party something, you might still meet old friends who might task you. Btw, FG should introduce a new law regarding wedding. If your Aso Ebi cost more than N50k and the marriage did not last up to 3 months, they should refund all the money for the Aso ebi |

I concur with him. When my father died last 4 years +, we only wore white clothes, which we all have. The burial was simple. Whether expensive burial or not, every die na die |

Telli person, dem no go hear. Low self-esteem and peer pressure are some of the reasons for this burgeoning Aso Ebi culture. |

All theze internet in-laws and warriors defending Remie Teanubu go tire sha, cos how much are they paying them to do this art of defense? Time for them to go and learn the art of akara frying they are wasting their typing muscle to war on the internet. Go and learn how to roast corn and fry akara to please your Dom Mistress. |

enemyofprogress:Why are you begging people for everything? There was never a time anybody is forcing anyone to buy aso ebi if however you were forced ignore the party. This is one of the dumbest posts I will read on NL in years. |

helinues:Helinues, whatever your issuss are that made your ultimate defender of this government. Please keep it away from me. Thank you. |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by helinues: 8:17pm On Jun 27 |
pocohantas:Use your sense and be logical about this. Was the Akara frying directed to the general public of the people the first lady empowered with cash? And if you are talking about defending the government, which if you have condemned them constructively the way I do? Or do you want me to post so many threads I have created proffering solutions to some of the issues we are having in Nigeria How did the Akara frying even take enter this thread, like what's the correlation if not pure pettiness. |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by GHoJes: 8:18pm On Jun 27 |
helinues:Keep quiet there! Has your first lady or her husband empowered any business whatsoever with more than 50k since they came into power? The people Jonathan empowered with you win are still standing firm till date. Even many of Buhari's covid loan etc show me proof who your Tinubu and his family bent on impoverishing the whole country has empowered with more than 50k? |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by pocohantas(f): 8:19pm On Jun 27 |
helinues:Young man, use your senses and stay away from my post. I am not the cause of your paranoia. Akara business has existed since 1802 and I didn't mention anybody in my post. If you have nothing to do, go sit one place and shuttt up! |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by helinues: 8:22pm On Jun 27 |
GHoJes:Quarter is better than nothing. You have no idea how that N50k can turn some people's life around. During tertiary, my school was in somehow outskirts of the main town. There was a woman selling food, all her life dreams was to see someone giving her just N20K, her feelings of richness won't be different from Bill gate. Is there even anything you people want to appreciate about this government apart from nagging? You guys are actually missing on the international social media space. Go to any foreign social media, I don't care which country and read what they are saying about the ongoing reforms in Nigeria. Things that others are trying to emulate unfortunately, some Nigerians like you are sounding ungrateful. Are you people expecting 100% perfection from the FG? |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by pocohantas(f): 8:24pm On Jun 27 |
helinues:You are the one derailing the thread by making akara business synonymous with your Madam Remu Tinubu. How is it my fault that when you hear or read of akara business, you see Remu? |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by GHoJes: 8:30pm On Jun 27 |
helinues:200k today can not buy that 20k's worth of goods in your tertiary days yet your president father and mother will rather die than empower anyone he is not directly benefiting from with more than 50k. You mean foreign social media looking at your deceiving decorated shoes, telling you it's beautiful yet only you know how it pinches? Btw, which foreign social media and reforms exactly? And since when did foreign social media became the authority that vets Nigeria's experience? |
| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by greatiyk4u(m): 8:31pm On Jun 27 |
pocohantas:Hahahahahah Very soon the akara frying business will be overcrowded that many will diversify to corn roasting and kuli kuli frying There are many things one don't need to be warned about in the year 2026 |

This is where Igbo tradition and culture becomes the best and the most rewarding. Though Igbos that lived in Lagos have exported the Aso Ebi brouhaha to Igbo land but Igbo culture and tradition still overshadow the Aso Ebi culture borrowed from the Yorubas. How is Igbo culture better in this regard you may ask? Read below. In Igbo culture, age grade associations, market unions and cultural groups come together to make contributions to assist their age grade member or market union member in times like this. This culture have now been refined into what Igbos now refer to as "Committee of Friends" that now come together to assist one another in times like this through voluntary fundraising. It may surprise you to know that many Igbos raise more than enough money from these committee of friends such that they even end up having more than enough funds left after the burial or other ceremonies. This was what happened to the popular Obi Cubana Mother's Burial. Obi Cubana made so much money from his mother's burial through committee of friends and associates such that cows remained a lot that he sold many even after giving away many to people. Some Igbos even raise business capital from these committee of friends, especially if the person is a social person that use to attend and contribute for others in the past. Honestly if most Nigerian remove bigotry and follow some Igbo traditions like "Igba boi" apprenticeship and this committee of friends fundraising culture, it will help a lot of Nigerians in life. This culture of voluntary fundraising is so predominant in Igbo land and has helped Igbo communities to achieve a lot even from the little they have. Igbos use it to raise money to build community Town halls, markets, rural electrification projects. It is this same culture that made ip0b a huge success because Igbos love contributing to any project that will promote Igbo well-being and reason I believe that if they ever get their own country, they might fund the country's budget through individual and group contributions and fundraising campaigns. I am just so proud to be a true son of the great Igbo race, God bless Igbos worldwide ![]() |

GHoJes:Go to rural areas, our relatives in the village , some of them don't even need up to N50K in order to be self employed The last CEO summit in Rwanda, I don't care which country social media or media you want to pick, go and read what the foreigners who are not bribed with corns are saying about the ongoing reforms and policies in Nigeria. Shell Rushed out immediately we stopped the subsidy payment as it wasn't business as usual They came back voluntarily with big investment after seeing how the reforms are working gradually No be mouth, president Tinubu as my president worth something to brag about, I can shade any foreigners, again I don't care which country. I have shaded so many foreigners about current president of our countries. They can never win us with that arguments. Ko possible |

Yes. 1) Burial party is a mockery of the dead. Let the living celebrate the living; let the dead bury the dead. The dead aren't limited to those below 6ft. Those above 6ft can be considered dead when they don't think and make choices for themselves. They're 'spiritual cripples' Celebrate the living while they're living- don't try to make up for lost time or offload guilt in your chest by investing money in burial parties. 2) A fool and his money part ways. Suffering is necessary because it should sensitize us not to want to suffer again. If we suffer and don't learn from our suffering, we waste it |

| Re: Stop Buying Aso Ebí To Avoid Aso Èbi By Taiwo Abiodun by GHoJes: 9:02pm On Jun 27 |
helinues:Your president and his wife are empowering people in capital city Abuja and other major cities with 50k to set up business and you are asking me to go to rural areas to do sampling? Are you aware Wike can't allow you do makeshifts for business in Abuja and cheapest shop rents cost nothing less than 600k and this is in Abuja villages? You talking about the same foreigners that don't want you in their countries or anything to do with you since your daddy's economy won't let people stay at home in the first place? |

GHoJes:I live outside town. The sound of animals always wake me up in the morning. Sebi na happiness we are all finding in life, you can have it anywhere you can afford it. Is it the government that have been misbehaving at where they are wanting them out or the irresponsible Nigerians who can not behave themselves outside the country. Whose responsibility should that be, still the government And if you are talking about the economy, I always find it funny when you people talk anything related to hardship caused by this government. Because as how hard you people have been complaining about it even though you never experienced it as only those who are supporting this government are suffering. Should you be a town crier on something you are not directly affected or perhaps you people have been using reverse psychology about it? Nigeria belongs to all of us irrespective of tribe, religion, political affiliation. Whatever hardship you people might have been talking about is affecting Nigerians in general. Apc supporters don't have any special market to buy things at discounted price. Whatever you people might have been complaining about, we are also feeling it. At the same time, we are having some reliefs If you have been outside Nigeria before this government came to power, the effects of the changes is glaringly from our airports which you opposition can never deny about. The opposition should save their stories for the electorates not us that already have our minds made. Every day Wailing, everyday nagging. Eish |
