Personally I'm watching the game void of emotion, and just focusing on the football. Hot take but South Africa football can be fun to watch sometimes. The issue is always just their limp and toothless attack. I expect them to win this game.

Canada is obviously the better team on paper but they already look shaky and nervous. Playing in the US may not work in their favour. I imagine it's like Nigerians playing in Ghana or vice versa. Lol.
Sometimes squad valuation may not reflect the actual squad quality especially with leagues outside Europe.

Also Canada is as good as playing at home at least compared to SA. It’s not at all like Nigerians playing in Ghana. They don’t have excuse.

Fifa have been robbing us our rights for long.
Africa deserves equal representatives

And FIFA should have made it mandatory for every player to feature for the country of his origin.
This French false dominance shouldn't to be allowed to continue.
Let every country compete evenly.

Though there might be consequences, the European clubs may reduce or stop developing young foreign players.
nope. Every country should use the players it develops. these countries set aside large amount of funds for football development of these players giving them top level education. It's only fair they turn out for them in their national colours.

Unless through penalty shootout

Both teams are not good enough for the knockout stages
South Africa is starting to turn up the heat. Goal is smelling.

Canada. A better team would have had a goal or two against SA by now. And SA could have come to this match without a striker since their only mode of shooting is from outside the box.

D'Law had we scored that crucial second the Congolese would have been shaken to their core and we would have played with more confidence.

We slightly dominated the first half but the loss of Osimhen completely demoralized the team before the 2nd half. Unfortunately many of our forwards were also off colour.
You are right. That first goal was like the scratch on the back of an elephant but a second goal would have pierced their heart.

Canada no sabi jare but I don't want SA to win. Hugo Broos came out to say they shut big mouths when they qualified.

They will blow a foul at any other part of the pitch for that penalty they waved

South Africa has made an African record now. They are the first Africa country to play in the round of 32!!!!!

After that, they can go home now.

I want SA to lose but a part of me wants to see the headlines when an African team knocks out the hosts

Yeah SA escaped with that one in the 1st half. Their luck that VAR and The Ref disagreed.

God abeg , make ball enter SA net now, another almost 'goal line clearance'.

Qatar conceded 6 goals to this Canada? Qatar? Asian Champions?

This World Cup really exposed the AFC. Their slots must be reduced by 1 or 2 and given to CAF abeg.

Meanwhile, South Africa is such a frustrating team to watch. They clearly play good football as a team, and know how to knock the ball around. But once they get into the opponents half, they suddenly turn into secondary school stragglers and don't have any clue what to do with the ball.

The team is like a paradox. They're simultaneously good and terrible at the same time.

A dreadful thought just entered my mind. What if SA wins Canada and goes on to win the WC?

Calm down D'Law. Not in a million years. These bums I'm watching right now aren't beating Morocco or Netherlands. Except there's a miraculous upgrade from the nonsense they're playing today. 😂😂

I'm thoroughly ashamed of them. Especially that South Korea that flattered to deceive with their first match.

Honestly it's not a good look on South Africa if they end up losing to this horrid Canadian side. You're not playing Germany or Norway for God's sake. This Canada team, with their amateur football can't seriously be holding you hostage.

But borhher Yinka said Qatar has made great strides in their football and they would beat us if we meet

Lmao... This SA can't do jark what is going for them is the cohesion of the players. If you think Morocco I can fancy them or DR congo .

I dey think an Africa winning the world cup too. It is getting closer now. Africa will soon win it. Just a matter of time

South Korea another massive disappointment. AFC no be am at all.

This is making me worried about Japan. They're my team for the tournament. Who knows if they'll start exhibiting their own madness from this Round of 32.

Brazil might have their foibles, but they certainly won't be a pushover.

If Japan cowers in that game I think it's safe to say Asia has gone south
