Good evening, everyone. I got MYBank Statement (MBS) from First Bank on friday. The bank also emailed me a copy of the specific document sent directly to the embassy. However, I noticed that the transaction narrations has only numbers. You can't actually identify who transferred the funds based on those details. Is this the exact format the embassy receives? If so, what is the best way to explain and justify these transactions to the visa officer
All accredited financial institutions in Nigeria has different formats and terms or connotations they are using to communicate with embassies. Go back to your bank and show them your own copy and if they tell you that it has no error then you have no cause to worry.

Hello, if my POF is in my account now, when can I start using the money? After Visa approval or after landing? Will they still check the account at POE?
Your actual study permit is granted at the airport (Port of Entry) when you land in Canada. In most cases, the immigration officials vet your POF amongst other things before granting the final study permit.

It is an important document, please send it asap

Chigbo55:
I am going for a graduate certificate program at Fanshawe college and I have already submitted my study permit application but I didn't upload my Transcript on my IRCC portal, should I create a web form, attach the Transcript and submit. How important is the transcript to my application? I only submitted my University Certificate. I have a second class lower division 3.2 on a 5.0 scale and it is written at the last page of my transcript. I don't want it to be a red flag on my application if the visa officer should go through it. Should I just ignore uploading it and just wait for their final decision?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 10:08pm On Jun 28
Mybankstatement ticket usually comes as a 1-page document with an ID and a password. The embassy will be able to access the bank statement.

Please use it like that

I appreciate your comment but it indirectly knocked off Canada study visa prospects which i dont agree with most of your points.

Number one, anything discouraging Canada Study visa is not supposed to be posted here because this particular thread is for Students willing to go and study in Canada.

1. How many Nigerians do you expect to start learning Frènch language ? I did chinese language in one of the Nigerian Universities and have to drop it when i could not write 1 to 10 in local Chinese all through year 1 🙄

2. How many Nigerians will wait for longer processes of Canada PR and what is the percentages of successful applicants?

The fact and the truth is that Study Visa remain the 2nd best type of visa any one can use to enter United States, Canada, UK, Australia, Newzealand , Brazil, Germany , South Korea and many advanced countries of the world regardless of your course of study.

Permanent Residency Visa or Green Card is number 1 but how many people or applicants qualifies in a given year ?

All Phd and Msc study visa applicant's into any of the listed countries are hotcakes and needed if they are manitaining superb cgpa because they are the future lecturers , researchers, manufacturers etc.

Back to Residency Paper. Any International student in Canada who did not jump fence or cross the border illegaly and who is maintaining his or her studentship will eventually be established via working permit, marriage , company sponsor etc. Canada has 10 provinces and 2 territories so therefore , if one province is wasting your time one can nove to the other.
Thanks for the explanation…i have a request..I intend to come to Canada through the study route. I have an HND in mass communication but I’m planning to switch my course to social service community worker at New Brunswick Community college…I checked online and their tuition fee is quite affordable..I will be honest with you, my long term goal is PR but because i don’t fall under the category I’m choosing the study route, which is fine by me

My only issue is how to go about it…don’t know if you can guide me. I’m looking at 2027/ or early 2028… my parents can provide their accounts for POF. I will really appreciate a response from you

I have seen 2 of your response to this guy and I wonder why you’re egging him on the wrong part. He does not have the requirements for a Masters program having graduated with a CGPA of about 2.75 over 5.0.

The circled part of the requirements you posted form MUN clearly states that you should have at least 75% which is equivalent to 3.75 over 5.0 in Nigeria.

Please be straightforward with this guy. He should apply for a postgraduate diploma first because that is what his grade can carry.
Oya, listen, Domain12. My boss has spoken: Postgraduate diploma.

A few people, though very rarely, with a 2.2 and strong work experience have been admitted into course-based master's programs (not thesis-based master's programs). It's possible, but it's difficult. That's why the requirement says applicants shall normally hold a minimum of a Second Class Upper (or have at least a 75% overall average).

The phrase "shall normally hold" means that's the standard requirement, but exceptions can sometimes be made. As I said in my earlier post, it's about 50/50, but I understand it's hard.

I also completed a course-based master's even tho I got a 2.1, and I have met just 1 person with a 2.2 who was admitted to masters program.....put in mind it was a course-based master's programs (not thesis-based master's programs). That person had very strong work experience.

So, I agree with you it's probably better to go with the postgraduate diploma to be on the safe side.

You know that IRCC officers are not evil.....you know this right ...See I understand your situation You are over thinking it I was in your situation 9 years ago

You will submitted your application and be going over all your document and thinking I hope I did not miss anything this and that

and before it use to be paper you submitted and connect with application to the portal online hahahah

Don't overthink it you have not done anything wrong Since Fanshawe College has already admitted you, the admissions office has already assessed your academic qualifications. That means the visa officer often places significant weight on the fact that in your case Fanshawe college accepted you

People submit both the degree certificate and transcript, but there are also successful People who submit only the degree certificate because in your case Fanshawe college has already verified their academic credentials...

Do not submit a web form to update your documents because this is not new information that changed beyond your control before you submitted your application

Good morning Boss. Thank you for your response. My tuition is in my POF o and my school directs that I pay my full first year tuition after my Visa Approval. Then travel expenses is also part of POF, right? And I am going to pay for my travel to the POE.

Do they understand this at the POE or they still expect me to come with all that money?

PhdCloakRoom:
The best time to start using the money is after you must have gotten the temporary visit visa or travel authorisation and you must make sure you are balancing the account because IRCC will vet your POF at Canada POE and they must see the exact balance you submitted to the Canadian High commission b4 your Study permit is eventually granted.

If you can leave the POF funds untouched till you start your classes in Canada that would have been the best.

Pay your tuition fee. It's part of the POF. Make sure you get a receipt.

When the border officer at the POE ask if you have paid your fees, say 'yes'. If the need proof you show them the receipt or a proof of payment.

When you are traveling to Canada, carry a much recent bank statement or proof of funds.

You can start using your money after application. You musnt freeze your money till you arrive Canada before using.

Your flight expenses, accomodations and tuition fees are all in that POF.

If you are paying for accommodation from Nigeria, use the POF to pay and have your receipt.

I paid my fees before applying for study permit.

In my POF I stated it. Ans included the CIBC receipt as proof

You have to follow your host- University instructions otherwise they will report you to IRCC , therefore do pay your 1st year tuition as soon as you arrive Canada.

Of course your school fees and other miscellaneous expenses is what they calculated to make your POF which also includes flight ticket but this is a dicey situation.

All you must make sure you do is that if it is N100 you displayed in your POF (prove of funds / bank statement) at the time of the submission of your study permit application then that same N100 is what the IRCC must see at the Port of Entry in Canada.

Focus on your admission to Brunswick Community college and focus on the study permit success. You must however display strong and convincing reason (s) in your SOP (statement of purpose ) for your change of career and why do you have to aquire the degree in Canada.

Upon your success in admission and study permit processes and you were able to graduate successfully as an international student in Canada who did not enter illegally nor have any crime record then the PR issue becomes secondary. There are many avenues to become a resident in Canada.

Attach the first page of your study permit application, visa fee payment evidence and others...merge it together as PDF and upload it in your admission portal.

If you failed to meet the deadline the school Will give you the option to defer your admission. If otherwise your tuition deposit will definitely be refunded.
ok uploaded now. Thanks boss

Hi, can I still meet up with January 2027 intake?
I wish to apply for PSW in any college but I'm told applications are already close for January 2027
What school is it?

If that intake is already closed, don't worry. Most colleges in canada have three main intakes

January (Winter)
May (Summer)
September (Fall)

You can simply apply for the next available intake. In fact, some colleges are still accepting applications for the January 2027 intake for PSW programs..Maybe you are just looking at one school alone

That's why I am asking which school are you looking at for the PSW program?

any one here can check whether the intake is still open or suggest other colleges with available spots....

Ohhhh, that's true. I checked colleges in the Atlantic region. I would check other colleges. If you have any college in mind, kindly drop the name. Thanks

You can use AI to make your search easier. Ask it to find schools in the Atlantic region that are still accepting international students for admission into a PSW program. If your goal is to find a more affordable option, you can also ask it to include cheaper schools. Generally, colleges in the Atlantic region tend to be more affordable, but don't limit yourself to just one province.

Once you have a list of schools, and you pick the one you want..and you have checked you are ok with the program and the fee. If anyone has experience with a particular school or the PSW program you are interested in, they can share useful information and advice.

You still have options. If the January intake doesn't work out, the May intake will most likely be available. So don't worry you still have time...but don't sleep on it

This is what the mybankstatement ticket looks like, if your bank send/generate this for you, you are good to go. You can attach it as bank statement with other supporting documents.

All commercial banks except Standard Chartered bank can generate mybankstatement ticket for you.

Are you familiar with grey.co (registered in Canada with a Canadian Money Services Business license), popular with Nigerian remote workers to receive salary. I have USD stored there. After I pay my tuition in full and I do a GIC for the max amount, will a Grey.co stamped statement with an official supporting letter addressed to IRCC confirming my account status, balances, and Grey's regulatory standing work? Including my Nigerian bank accounts statements?

High risk using this as POF red flagged by ai overview, this is not a traditional bank.

Yes I am familiar with grey. It is legally registered with Canada Fintrac and even in the United States therefore it should be able to provide the service and the probability of it acceptance by ircc is high.

However, I will advise you to contact grey customer support team for accurate information. Grey seems to charge higher commission and their apps have some negative comments but they re legally and internationally registered.

The original asker said he or she did not see any lodgement narrative in the copy of the statement so its a dicey situation and that was why i refered him/her to the bank. Its a simple logic and if you feel that the op can use it then you have to answer him/her directly. A teacher does not correct another teacher openly (form of disrespect) except if such teacher is teaching in an obviously a wrong way.

IRCC can reach them with all their available means thats not a problem. Ask grey if they have being doing it for student visa applicants especially from Africa and if they say affirmative then go ahead. If their explanation is not straight forward then use your local account but i believe they should be honest with you in order to avoid litigation.
