Progressive Young Lawyers Network Endorses Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, for NBA President

– The Progressive Young Lawyers Network (PYLN) has formally endorsed Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, as its preferred candidate for the position of President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

In[b] a statement issued on Monday by its Spokesperson, Uthman Isa Tochukwu, Esq, the group said its decision followed a careful assessment of the various aspirants and their visions for the Bar. “Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her career,” the statement read. As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Senior Partner at ALP NG & Co., she also serves as a Board Member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration and chaired the NBA 2024 Annual General Conference Planning Committee.

The PYLN praised her consistent support for young practitioners, citing her participation in key events including the NBA Ikeja Branch Young Lawyers’ Forum Legal Summit on May 22, 2026, the NBA Degema Branch Young Lawyers’ Forum Annual Symposium themed “The Legal Profession: Thriving Beyond Survival,” and the Lagos Hangout 2026. According to the group, these engagements underscore her dedication to mentorship, ethical practice, innovation, and leadership within the profession.

The statement further noted Badejo-Okusanya’s advocacy for gender inclusion and justice sector reform. As an active member of FIDA Nigeria, she has championed access to justice, women’s leadership, and the integration of technology in legal practice.

“At a time when the Nigerian Bar Association requires transformational leadership, institutional strength, and a clear vision for the future, we are confident that Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya possesses the experience, competence, courage, and capacity to lead the Association into a new era of progress,” the Spokesman for the group, Tochukwu declared.

The group called on lawyers across the country, particularly young practitioners, to rally behind Badejo-Okusanya, describing her as a candidate whose career embodies “excellence, accessibility, innovation, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of the legal profession.”

The endorsement adds momentum to the ongoing campaigns ahead of the NBA national elections.

Even in matters like this, you still had to insert Obi name and yet you data boys keep claiming he is irrelevant!

The reasons for their endorsement are too pedestrian. Capable because she attended young lawyers' events and party?
Good that NBA election is not free for all tribes at a time, but zoned to blocks. It would have been another APC, ADC, NDC campaign wahala.

When it's time for the NC, I hope Mohammed Adam aka EgiNupe get the nomination. A very young and brilliant lawyer.

i didn't say he's irrelevant. He'll lose anyway. His followers are mostly online, so we'd refer to you. However, remember that voting is not online.

Uthman Isa tochukwu ke? How come. Mixture of hausa blood and Igbo blood. It's easier for a hausa man to marry Igbo woman than Igbo man marrying hausa woman.

Voting isn't online and yet he officially got 6 million plus votes as a first timer under a relatively unknown party?
Well you have already answered by question though!

There you go barking another tree again. i showed you why Obi's name keeps coming up online, which is because most of his followers are online loud mouths. The bulk of Nigerians are not online or loud about political choice. We've just over 3million members on NL which is a bulk of the online. In this loud crowd, some are not functional members, some are not Nigerians, some have more than one account, some don't care about politics, and some don't have PVC to vote.
It is not wise then to assume and conclude Nigerian elections based on this fragment of sentiment, but you folks do that on and on. Replicating similar on some other online media doesn't change facts. Obi was expected to receive those votes and was expected to lose.
Unfortunately for him, he's lost a lot of that base and momentum. He failed to consolidate and improve on that. Except you are not realistic or informed. You'll know that many that openly supported him in 2023 have openly left, and many that were on the sidelines have determined to support the current government for different reasons. The below video is just one example of several.

Where did Obi get millions of votes and why's he not going to get them again? Please face facts, not emotions.
1. People were much anti-APC even inside APC. All those that lost the APC primary worked against APC, Amaechi, Osinbande and CBN. It's not happening this time.
2. There was a muslim muslim ticket and islamization scare. Plus many people wanted a Christian from the South since a Muslim from the North just did 8 years. This was pivotal to why most pastors and churches openly campaigned for Obi. It's not happening or selling this time.
3. Tribal sentiments and mass rigging in the South East. That would reduce this time because the governors and senators from there would not want to embarrass themselves but try to impress the FG. So they won't turn a blind eye to mass rigging.

i have mentioned and explained why Obi got millions of votes and why it's not happening again. Exactly in line with what you discussed. i expect the average Obi follower to either hurl insults and curses, or divert to talk about Tinubu or tribe or how i am suffering or how God will take me, or how Nigeria will happen to me. i beg you to be reasonable, and stick to the discussion.

All this long 'copy and paste' epistles just to explain why Obi will not win according to you!
😁😁😁
You are the one who claimed his supporters are only online which I objected with facts.
Oshiomole said worst by saying it was just four people tweeting.
Those 4 became 6million officially.😎

That means he isn't only relevant but also a stumbling block to your paymaster's pathway to second term in office.
Maybe a thousand tweeting could become 10million or more😁

At the risk of sounding like a broken records, you have already answered my question.
Any other essay writeup probably from a copy and paste agents is unnecessary and a waste of time.

i only explained why Obi got 6 million plus votes. This is a discussion forum and i have engaged anyone willing to discuss on many levels for many years on the forum. If you see it as an essay or copied work, well. See you in January, it's not a crime to daydream.
