The Colombia game and the Senegal game during the WC qualifiers are good pointers on how to handle this DR Congo team, but apparently England as usual seem to have overestimated their capacity in relation to their opponent.

Reminder, football na 11 vs 11.

If you delete Messi and Mbappe from match, Julian Alvarez, Simeone, Lautaro, Dembele, Olise, Barcola etc fit still do the damage.
True, but some players are far better than other, every coach knows that, even if it's not man marking, a wise should always find a way to curb the the threats of those special players

Olise is more gifted than Jude.
That Olise is the soul of this French team.

I don't know why they are not starting Saka,he can help them in this game
Right now he is Jude on his debut season for Madrid was something else

Shebi if I dey tell una say Saka is overrated pple go dey call me hater

The reason Tuchel prefers starting Noni ahead of Saka is because the Arsenal man can’t take players on

Winger wey dey play like full back
The Noni way dey take on players wetin he don do for this match?

It's not that Messi or Mbappe would not score but check out Messi's goals against Algeria and Austria. Man just waltz into space and scores. Mbappe often has free space to shoot.

Baba, yes those other guys can do damage but I will delegate one player to man mark these specific dangerous guys. Even if they drift to their own 18, follow them. Make sure he is not free to do whatever he likes with the ball.

Let the remaining 9 maintain shape.

England need to cross more. Those Congolese appear to be vulnerable to crosses.

But you see that tiki taka wey England dey do with ball, Congo will defend successfully. Their game with Ghana should have taught England that this tiki taka cannot work where a team sits deep

They are not slow and tire but overpowered by a more aggressive side.....the Congolese mean business and play with total commitment and determination like the Argentines , Colombia and Brazilians. You cant win with only talent
