He dwelt rather on how Emmet was wrong for supposedly sexually assaulting the woman and even called the whole thing a myth. So its entire direction is still obvious, and it remains sickening to approach the matter the way he did considering the age of the boy and what happened to him.

I dont know his attitude in that regard, though I would say its likely he is. I can only limit myself to what I heard him say on that documentary - all of which I agreed with, but that was on the trans/ self identification/ gender pronouns issue.

Notice what the presidents who wanted unilateral unlimited powers have in common? They’re all republicans. They keep screaming “small govt” in the faces of their constituents but they’re the big govt.

The Supreme Court ruling today might be a little confusing so let’s simplify it a bit.

✨Before now, Congress made some agencies independent of the President. That meant the President couldn’t randomly fire their leaders simply because he disagreed with them politically. It had to be misconduct, negligence, etc.

✨Independent agencies existed so experts could make decisions WITHOUT political pressure. It allowed the people who spent their entire lives studying and practicing their field of expertise to make the right call without interference.

The President now has more power to fire and replace leaders of agencies like:

🔹Federal Trade Commission (FTC): Consumer protection, stopping monopolies
🔹Federal Communications Commission (FCC): TV, Radio, Internet, Cell Phone Regulation
🔹Federal Election Commission (FEC): Campaign finance and election rules
🔹National Labor and Relations Board (NLRB): Union and workplace disputes
🔹Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC): Product recalls and consumer safety
🔹Equality Employment and Opportunity Commission: Employment discrimination laws
🔹Merit Systems Protection Board: Protects federal employees from improper personnel actions
🔹Surface Transportation Board: Railroad and some freight transportation regulations.

❗️The Supreme Court, in a later decision, decided this could not apply to the Federal Reserve.❗️

However, you can see what a major problem this could be. We have a President who is corporations first, and now he has full power to force these people to comply 100% or be replaced. Only loyalists may have their jobs.

👉 His claim about other Presidents wanting this to happen is true - those Presidents were Reagan and Bush. Obama, Biden and Clinton all supported agency independence - they wanted the best experts making the best choices. Their terms were successful because of this - experts always know better than a President does.

✨History has shown that concentrating power and replacing independent agencies with loyalists is a feature of democratic backsliding and can lead to authoritarianism. We have checks and balances in place to ensure the government is forced to work for the people, not for the king.

⚡️H!tler, in an act called “Gleichschaltung”, systematically replaced and “unalived” any officials that were not loyal to his regime. He eliminated or took control of any institutions that could act as checks on his power. We are watching an American version of this and have been all year.

I don’t know how we are going to fix any of this - the choices they’ve been making lately threaten the American way more than anyone in our history. You’d think they hated America, honestly.
