PhdCloakRoom:
IRCC expects you upon arrival in Canada to have enough liquid money in hand (in the bank) in order to start your new live and sort out tuition deficits . Hence as a Nigerian you must prove beyond a doubt that you can convert the gift ” to real money since gift deed or notarization is already abused.

You must also prove to ircc that the gift has no condition attached or obligation to return it otherwise you will score zero in POF.

Your best way is to get the funds transferred to your bank account or sponsor's account and then attach the gift notarization . Also let the donor write an official SOP (with court affidavit) indicating who is he to you as well as his motive for the gift and how the money was remitted. Do not pay more than the $2k CAD deposit.
In such scenario, does the gift deed donor have to submit his or her bank statement?

IRCC will teach you patience. The wait for a response from IRCC is a real character building experience for everyone.

Since you have already submitted web forms and contacted IRCC, there isn't much more you can do except continue monitoring your account. IRCC is aware of your program's resumption date, and apart from submitting a web form or sending an email requesting asking for an update, there is little else you can do but wait....

I am hopeful that this new month you will hear back from them.with some good news

PhdCloakRoom:
IRCC can reach them with all their available means thats not a problem. Ask grey if they have being doing it for student visa applicants especially from Africa and if they say affirmative then go ahead. If their explanation is not straight forward then use your local account but i believe they should be honest with you in order to avoid litigation.
They confirmed for student visa applicants from Nigeria, don't know about other African countries but I will assume the same where Grey offers a similar service. Been using them for years to store my FX reserve. I dont like the local commercial banks when it comes to FX because it is very difficult to move FX around with a dom account. Common pay tuition to a foreign school will take days or weeks. But Grey makes it very easy and quick. I have USD, GBP, Euro, USDT and USDC virtual accounts with them.

If I may ask, is it your current work that gave you your POF since you are self funded?

If yes, how long have you worked there?

Which course and program do you intend to study in Canada and which school?

Sorry, the questions might seem personal, but I have my reasons for asking. Nb: Got my PPA 4years ago, graduated 2 years ago

Cullinane:
I initially wanted to start at Fall (Sept) 2027 simply because I wanted to clock work anniversary at my place of work next March but I am not keen anymore on waiting for a whole year plus. So I want to bring it forward to Winter (Jan) 2027. I am fully self-funded. I intend to pay the full 2 year tuition upfront and do a GIC for the max possible sum and present both as part of my visa application docs including other savings in USD. So it is not a funding issue per say.

Do your M.Ed in any Nigerian federal or state University , try hard to patch up your lower cgpa in undergraduate and most importantly you must work and volunteer with professors.

Upon graduation you can then go for Phd in Education which is hot cake in Canada and most countries of the world. It may seem longer but this is your best route. With good cgpa and recommendations from professors and work history you can get full funding on your Phd and the future is always bright for professors either in academia or industrial research.

Hi, I want to use this opportunity to really thank you, my application was approved last week, but I wanted to collect my passport from vfs first before I share the good news here. I really thank you for the good you do here, God will continue to bless you. I'll share the list of documents I submitted later, but I'm a very private person so some personal stuff, e.g. the name of the university I'm going will not be shared here, it's a public school in Ontario. Basically the only thing different I did from your advice was that I didn't pay the 4K CAD for part of the tuition fee, I didn't pay anything because my admission offer was conditional so I didn't want to risk the money (but I've met the condition now), some certain documents I wanted to include I didn't include them as they were in Polish language and I didn't want to spend money unnecessarily translating for something not required and also the documents I have were already too much and I was worried about compressing them and still retaining a readable quality, for example I did not include the tax return documents. Thank you once again for actively answering people's questions, including my questions, you're one of the realest here. My application approval took exactly only two weeks after submission, no web forms, nothing, I think it was fast. Thanks

amnotapervert:
No, do not spend extra money on that. As long as the documents are genuine, just submit them to IRCC. Attach a written note explaining that you are providing your tax returns for the last three years to demonstrate that you contributed meaningfully while living in Poland by paying your taxes, and that these documents serve as proof of that contribution.

Make sure the documents in Polish contain your personal information ( your name your polish social security number things like that) . I am sure IRCC can use translation tools or have them reviewed if necessary. The main purpose is to show that you have been a law-abiding resident and have fulfilled your tax obligations in the country where you have been living.

I don't believe in that at all... I'm the king of using non-commercial banks for applications.

For my visit to CA, I used Rova (which is Nigerian MFi just like GREY) and a swiss online bank account and it was approved
my CA student visa, two Canadian bank accounts, a GIC, and a Lithuanian online bank account (bulk of the money) and it was approved
My parents' US visa: I used my Lithuanian online bank account only, as their sponsor failed them at the last minute so had to step in, and it was approved.

So far the bank is licensed and has the country's financial approval, and you are not cooking documents; my take is to use it.

Predator188:
High risk using this as POF red flagged by ai overview, this is not a traditional bank.

This is my thinking plus Grey is registered in Canada as an in-country and cross border payment service provider. It is so easy and smooth to use. Love their service like mad. Please what's the tea on the Swiss and Lithuania online bank account. Why was it necessary? Details please. Thank you.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by dsureguy: 2:18pm On Jul 02
Yes, Grey Finance Inc is a licensed MSB in Canada.

no tea on it. Just my personal preference.

It is not even necessary... I just prefer it, and it has its own risk too since we are not residents of their country...

Check mount saint vincent university.

Once you have a minimum of 3.0, they will grant you admission.

I know couple of students studying there now with 2.2 ( 3.0 minimum )

Showkey1313, keep in mind that the Canadian CGPA scale typically ranges from 0.0 to 4.0, while the Nigerian CGPA scale ranges from 0.0 to 5.0

Not all Second Class Lower grades are the same. It depends on the university you attended and how the Canadian institution evaluates and converts your CGPA.

For example,
some Canadian universities may assess a Second Class Lower (3.13/5.0) as 2.5/40

or 2.6/4.0
or 2.7/4.0
or 2.8/4.0
or 2.9/4.0,

while others may assess it as 3.0/4.0
it all depends on how they calculate your grades

So, admission is definitely possible but not so easy. Hopefully, Mount Saint Vincent University evaluates it as 3.0/4.0...being positive

https://www.msvu.ca/academics/graduate-studies-at-the-mount/graduate-application-checklist/

but also apply to collage Post graduate diploma in the next term as back up if You do not get a masters admission

Betterlife2018, for those you know who received admission, would you mind sharing their exact CGPA? It would be very helpful for others trying to understand how the university assesses Second Class Lower degrees....

Just to update the house. One of the family application i submitted June 6th. We got a passport request for the Mother while the 2 kids were denied Reasons for the refusal of your application

To help you understand why your application was refused, below are the Officer Decision Notes
(ODN) specific to your application as they are displayed in IRCC’s system.

These notes were entered by the officer who assessed and made the final decision on your
application.
I have reviewed the application. Applicant is a minor applying to accompanying parent on a
SP. There is insufficient documentation to demonstrate consent for one parent to be traveling to
Canada with minor. I am not satisfied minor applicant has demonstrated that appropriate parental
consent has been obtained to travel to Canada. As such, I am not satisfied the applicant will
leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay. Application refused under
R216(1)(b).
Requesting ODNs in your official language of choice:
In some cases, Officer Decision Notes may not be available in your official language of choice
(English or French). To receive the notes in your preferred official language of choice, please
send your request to translate.ODN-traduire.NDO@cic.gc.ca and include the following
information in your email

So I we will quickly try reapply for the two kids today.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ehiremen2002: 3:56am On Jul 03
I dig a bit more . Thank God for AI

It is highly likely that the visa officer completely missed the consent letter because it was uploaded under the "Client Information" section instead of the specific slots meant for minor travel authorization. Your assessment is correct: both refusal letters explicitly state that the applications were denied because of "insufficient documentation to demonstrate consent for one parent to be traveling to Canada with minor". Because your own study permit has been approved (indicated by your passport request), you have two concrete paths forward to fix this for your children:
Option 1: Reapply for the Children (Fastest & Most Reliable)Since you already have your passport request, re-submitting new visitor visa or study permit applications for your two children is usually the most effective route. What to do differently: When filling out the new applications, do not bury the father's consent letter in general client information. Upload the Letter of Consent and Financial Sponsorship directly into the required slot for minor travel authorization (often labeled as "Proof of Relationship" or "Minor Travel Authorization"wink. What to include: Use the exact same letter signed by Mr. xxxx, the marriage certificate, their birth certificates, and your new Canadian visa/passport request letter to show that your study permit is approved.

Option 2: Submit a Webform (Reconsideration Request)You can contact IRCC via the online Webform to point out that the document was already provided. What to say: State clearly that you are requesting a reconsideration because the officer noted a lack of parental consent, but the fully signed "Letter of Consent for Minors Traveling Abroad" by their father, Mr. xxxxxx, was already attached to the file under client information on the initial submission. Attachment: Re-attach the consent letter, your passport request letter, and the children's birth certificates to the Webform.

Note: While a Webform is free, it can take several weeks for IRCC to review and process reconsideration requests, and they are not obligated to reopen a refused file. Preparing a fresh application (Option 1) ensures it goes directly into an officer's queue with the documents in the correct places.
