Akor Afams to venezia

I wonder who his agents are

This is a serious downgrade
I take this football thing too seriously because why am I fkin raging over this news right now?

Moving to Enugu Rangers might have been a better move.

Idk. Seems plausible. Apart from Sarr that went down with Watford that time, im not sure senegal picks players from the championship, i stand to be corrected. Remember this same player barely got much mention here prior to the unity cup and barely during afcon season (,apart from when nerd does his player match report). His inclusion to their 40 man is arguable but i wont hold my breath on it

Our players making ridiculous career moves is something i have come to terms with. The country is already hard enough, cant be letting someone's choice of club ruined my mood no matter how ridiculous it is.

What's this agenda about Nigeria not having better players than Senegal?
And it even baffles me that it's most Nigerians and journalist, pushing this narrative
One say only osimhen will make the Senegalese national team, omooo nawa ooh

Reason why I have stayed this long on this thread is that it seems the only social media space with a high concentration of fans striving for rational fandom. Yeah we succumb to excitement but there's always someone or people to draw us back to proper sense.

You see X, Facebook, wider Nairaland? Vexation of spirit cry

Meanwhile, I'm expecting a borefest in the Spain - Austria game.

🚨 Lamine Yamal on facing Marc Cucurella in Clasico: “Look, I told him that he will start the first match but by second he will already be a substitute…because I'm going to eat him alive”, told Cope.

Lol, Both start vs Austria today.

Like Pele and Altafini for Brazil in 1958...

Like Yamal and Cubarsi for Spain in 2026.

As good as My Maroc are, they have a benchwarming Issa Diop starting in their defence and even emerging as their best CB at this WC so far. Calvin Bassey benches Diop comfortably at Fulham.

Sometimes, you read some agenda takes and you just know they rather take delight in belittling themselves coz they feel admitting that Nigeria is actually a strong side is delusional and non-objective.

💯 am with you on this even Cape Verde treat Nigerians like shit when folks go there for tourism.

I wonder why we Nigerians are getting emotional over this. Besides the way these African teams perform badly the better for us as a country for some bragging rights. The teams themselves are feeling overconfident so it’s good the way they are being humbled and I expect more defeats. Only Morocco seems to be an exception cos they look most disciplined African team.
Anybody that is emotional should continue... As far as i am concerned, i am happy

Even some respectable social media accounts are pushing such nonsense! The loss of Senegal and DRC yesterday was really a blow to many egos ready to pounce on a country not in the competition 😂 shebi when Senegal was leading 2-0 one of us here don conclude we are now behind Senegal and Morocco omo agendas were really shattered last night.

20-year-old Nigerian winger William Chimezie is on the verge of completing a move from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv to French club AJ Auxerre. 🇧🇬➡️🇫🇷

The highly-rated right winger is closing in on a switch to Ligue 1, with Auxerre looking to secure one of Nigeria's brightest young talents ahead of the new season.

DRC were outclassed by Colombia sha but i agree with your submissions.
On the issue of African Countries self destructing at vital moments, it begs the question we are trying to avoid but needs answering and deliberations which is the question of how good are the african countries?
Failing something twice once or twice can still be termed coincidence. Failing more than twice speaks to either not enough quality in relation to opponents or just deliberate sabotage. Since the latter is not a reasonable thing to think, it means maybe , just maybe, we have been overrating our quality. Maybe we are not that good enough. Consistent late goals conceded says a lot about a team. Especially that ivory coast. Im just not sure of how long we will continue to have this almost tag with us. Perhaps we have plateaued.
EElopa:
Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt were the only 4 African sides that realistically had any chance of making it into round 16. Dr. Congo played the best football I have seen them play in a very long time, and that team should be welcomed as heroes back home. They played Portugal, Colombia, and England, and they were never outclassed or humiliated. Those boys gave everything they had today, and you cannot possibly ask for more. DR Congo is a good team. If Dr. Congo can get an elite-level striker, with the coming of Senny Mayulu, this team will be a stronger contender for AFCON 2027.

The Ivory Coast historically has underperformed on the world stage. Even their golden generation failed to make it past the group stages. They are the most talented African team alongside Morocco, but there is something psychologically wrong with Ivory Coast at World Cups. They keep losing concentration, and they keep conceding late-minute goals.

They conceded in stoppage time against Greece in 2014, which knocked them out of that World Cup. They conceded in extra time against Germany, which could have pitted them against Paraguay instead of Norway, which I believe is a very dangerous team in this tournament. I have learned to not trust Ivory Coast in World Cups. They have concentration problems.

Cape Verde and Dr. Congo, round of 32 opponents, are World Cup contenders, and so I expected both of them to lose. South Africa to me is just not a very good team. South Africa reached the World Cup primarily because Nigeria self-destructed, which was anticipated due to the widespread decay and corruption affecting every aspect of life in Nigeria. The rest of the team outside Nigeria in that group was weak; the corrupt CAF president allowed them to play 80 percent of their World Cup matches at home. Talent-wise, South Africa is not even a top 15 country in Africa.

It will take a heroic effort for Ghana to make it past Colombia. I don't really see that happening. I have my fingers crossed for Senegal simply because this Belgian team is old, and if Senegal plays with no fear like they played against France in their first game, they will send this Belgian team packing tonight. Egypt and Algeria are simply down to favorable matchups. Egypt is better than Australia, and I don't really rate the Swiss team.

The Spaniards are so good. They make transitions seem so easy and their pressing game is quite intense. 1-0 vs Austria. Fine team move finished by Oyarzabal.

Sir please what's the update on Femi Azeez moving to Aston Villa or something like that? Everywhere has been mute since the Unity Cup.

It's inferiority complex that's affecting most African teams except Maroc. The moment you stopped feeling these players or teams are better than you, will be the day they will start beating any European and S/American teams.

You can see the way the Moroccan players play any team with confidence without jittering the way most African teams do especially when they took the lead.

Inferiority complex as how na? Between DRC and England who suppose lose normally? DRC squad have a very strong mentality that helps them remain composed off the ball. That’s all. Not like they have a strong squad.

Norway squad also has more quality and balance than both CIV and Senegal.
They were the favorites.

The only match that I would fault an African team would be Senegal failing to keep off a struggling Belgium.
