The point is the matched Argentina. it was not Argentina playing badly. This Cape Verde go drag England well. France is questionable.

Spain is a tournament favorite. Remind me how that match ended vs Spain

Sugarboyy:
Formidable opponent Ke.
Yeah, Cape Verde played well but if they were playing a country like France or even England do you think they will be able to dominate these countries for 3 mins the way they did to Argentina today?

Even when they drew with Spain, Spain dominated them from start to finish

played what rubbish? They met a formidable opponent and you are attributing it to them playing rubbish. You people should stop over respecting these white people
Una

Why are both a mutually exclusive thing?

Argentina had almost 70% possession, forcing 8 saves. Yet we can all see the sluggishness of certain players, misplaced passes, indecisiveness.

Cape Verde sniffed it and took their opportunities.

Cape Verde has justified the 10slots FIFA gave Africa
These boys must be celebrated
This shows that you don't have to play in the elite leagues to make lasting impact in the WC

Playing at the WC is a totally different ball game from club football
Cape Verde gave 101%
Congratulations to Cape Verde for doing Africa proud.
You are going home with your head held high

Not when we still have Simon and Ndidi starting or coming in.
Bassey, Aina, Fredrick, Nnadi, Osimhen, Adam and Lookman can hold their own against any opponents.

Lisandro Martinez has sacrificed his blood, sweat and all in that defence. Sweating blood and salty water vs Cape Verde. How much more when you come up against other Monsters that wait ahead. grin
Thank you for a spectacle Cape Verde. You leave the World Cup nearly "technically undefeated". A loss in extra time is recorded as a loss in FIFA archives. It is only when a game is deciced by Pens that a draw is recorded regardless of who advances.

The reigning World Champs needed extra time to escape the worst ranked team (#63) ever to make the K.Os since 70th ranked Russia did in 2018.

Cape Verde blessed the World Cup with Attacking and defensive Bravery on the pitch and Beauties in the stands. grin

You leave the mundial as true Gladiators.

Emiliano Martinez never fails to show that he's indeed a World Class goalkeeper. His saves today were top notch.

Unfortunately there was nothing he could do about that monster of an R2 Cape Verdian curler, but having a goalkeeper of his calibre is crucial in winning tournaments. The guy dey give me joy.

Guy give this guys their credit, playing against the number 1 rank country in the world and you are calling England. Not losing a game in 90mins after 4 games. Comon

All the 10 countries justified it considering Algeria and Tunisia qualified flawlessly.

Like you have said, it is this spirit that is fluctuating with our own team

A people must conceive of themselves as great to have courage.

This Cape Verde gave it their all.

Look at our match against Morocco. Only Bassey stood as a one man defence wall of Gibraltar against the onslaught of the Moroccan attack.

That's the spirit we want to see from defence to attack.

Fight fight fight. Don't give up. Go for it. Push push.

Exactly, I think that exactly what is lacking in the current SE. Can't remember any world cup game we held Argentina to a draw in 90mins.
