We need to be the hub of solar power energy production in Africa
I really wish the government would look in that direction and bring in investors that will champion this here in Nigeria. It is going to be a great boost to our industrialization drive. 99.9% of processes run on electricity and solar power would help in no small measures.

Tho, I know that the government is taking steps, slowly, gradually and surely, we'll get there.

Don’t be myopic. The reason there is Obidient today is because of failed leadership. This govt have lost trust from the masses except the ignorant ones who still believe they have to kpai or be kidnapped first before they know that this govt have failed. Even this project we can still not trust their honesty in the cost of setting it up and its returns and how it will circulate and better the people. We need a fairer and transparent govt to take over and help rebuild that trust in govt. don’t be cheap to fall for this govt again
No transparent person in politics, to me I rather still with Tinubu that is transforming everything now than hop for one fake guy that doesn't have a good record as a governor. That project will bring employment which means thousands of people life will get better.

Every single person that supports APC even me when I used to lack basic understanding of economics particularly in a capitalist economy

They don’t know how job creation works
Don’t know the viability of projects
Don’t know the impact of loans
Don’t know devaluation
Don’t know reference point when gdp is measured

They just want legacy projects , is it viable they don’t care
How is the funding done they don’t care

I call it the “awolowo syndrome “ or “cocoa house effect “
Awolowo was the first to do it
Cocoa house is the poster child

Beautiful fancy and feel good project to be proud of but has absolutely no viability

This is 2026 you and you are building a lithium plant without any demand for lithium locally first ?

Is the plant lithium competitive ? Can you be profitable if you sale at the global price ?

If it fails now we would say we lack maintenance culture

But I hope and wish this is not a government project sha
It is well... But ask yourself... Do you know how many ppl will be involve in this project?... Engineers, economic experts and all... So you are saying you are more intelligent that them all? You are sayin non of them would have done all this you wrote up before building the plant?....
We blame our government if they don't do... But when the eventually do... We rubbish it with negative feedback/ backlash...
You talk of local market
Do you know how many millions of fone users in the country

Do you know keke maruwa ppl now use battery cos it cheaper than fuel...

Laptop users..

Solaris users
... So I dnt see any local market issue.
Lastly... I dnt do Apc, pdp, fst or wot ever name you call it.. All that matters is development.... That's all I want to see and discus....

Meanwhile, any idea why all these announcements have failed to help your master strategist get to N300/$1 in the short term after 38 months of being in the job of president huh

Why is a sensible person like you dogmatically supporting All Promises Cancelled, APC politicians who say things that they he don’t plan to do?

Why should government not employ teachers and other workers to make education free for all children and water available to all households, among other public services and utilities to be provided from our commonwealth?

You're wrong. Read the news post again and tell us where the credit goes to tinubu or nasarawa government. Obidients goals are centered on production instead of na statistics we go chop or akara and kulikuli politics only by production can we move Nigeria forward and not by sharing money and bags of rice cos of election

Is it Wale Edun’s PDP also huh

thisweekng:
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”
Private sector to drive the economy

Is this a State project? If not how is the State benefiting from it? "It will create jobs" fools will say ... the same kind of jobs Free Zones created ... the same type of jobs hinese road projects created. ... low level jobs with minimum wage lay under slave conditions. What happens to the lithium after processing? What happens to the industrial waste? What happens to the plant"s highly polluted waste water? What happens if there is environmental damage? .. loss of life? .. loss of livelihood due to pollution? Air pollution and respiratory illnesses .. cancer development... is it our Environmental Protection Agency active ? ... and has the ability to monitor and enforce rules in order to protect the health of our people?

Let me reference one such project that was hacked as " good development "... a reminder of the danger of industrialization with a weak Environmental Protection Agency.

u mistake those people, things like this is actually what they want because they mean well for the country. Except the reality of what is going on in this country does not bother you.just an example. we use change 1000 Naira for 3600cfa now it is 1000Naira 420cfa,not even up to 600cfa. I’m talking about a country like Benin republic here, a boundary nation with Nigeria who has nothing compare to us .Do u really think our leaders are doing well?

See the first thing that came to your mind!! You should be pitied cos your mind is stunted and you need to free yourself from the bad energies.

Every right thinking Nigerian with the exception of you and your likes wishes Nasarawa state, northern Nigeria, Nigeria and Africa well.
This project reflects the mindset of Peter Obi and all his supporters. Nigeria will be free of your kind and develop and reach its divine potentials.

I dislike commenting on local news but my people, learn to ask the right questions.

Is this a state owned company? If not, what’s the revenue ratio between the federal government and the owners?
How does the ministry of solid minerals keep track of every ounce of lithium mined?

Who are the owners?
What’s the economic impact?
What’s the environmental impact?

It’s a good initiative but like with every other sector (Gold, LNG, Oil) I fear it’s been monopolized.
What do you mean by monopoly?

Is everything just about eating?
And is a well-established industry not a guarantee of steady 'eating' for generations to come?
We all have to go beyond thinking in terms of the stomach for every issue.
This jaundiced thinking is why a fool thinks sharing 10kgs of rice is equivalent to good governance and mandate delivery.
Food is made for the stomach and not the stomach made for food.

Helinuse:
Why?
He built this?
If he even did, will his people now eat the processed ore?

And with all the anger you used to talk this, you felt wise.

You somehow think that immediate hunger should not be addressed, but building industries for future satisfaction should.

But somehow, you ate breakfast. You didn’t take the money to invest in long term crypto.

Why?

"Can people eat it?" is a strange standard. People can't eat roads, bridges, or hospitals either. The point is to build an economy where people can earn enough to buy food, not expect the government to feed them forever.
Governments build economies first by investing in the people and not building industries.

No government ever build economies by setting up industries. They make sure the people are invested in, so that when the PRIVATE SECTOR builds the industry, there would be people with the capacity to earn within.

Where did you guys school for God’s sake?

Which country have their government focused on running the private sector and till find effectiveness in running the public systems?
