Morocco, My Only Outside force selection, advances to a Back-to-Back Quarterfinals. That is a first for any African side. (B2B WC Quarters).

9 out of my 12 Favorites/Darkhorses/Outside force selections are still in. 3 are OUT.
2 of the 3 OUT got booted out by 2 of the 9 that advanced.

4 out of the 9 that hv advanced meet each other in the next round (RO16)... Brazil vs Norway & Portugal vs Spain.

Round of 16 action continues...

Next-up:
Paraguay vs France (Top 5 fav)

Top 5 Favs in no order:
- Spain✅️⏳️
- France✅️⏳️
- Portugal✅️⏳️
- Argentina✅️⏳️
- England✅️⏳️

Solid Dark horses:

- Netherlands❌️❌️
- Belgium✅⏳️
- Croatia (coz of their last 2 WCs)❌️❌️
- Norway✅️⏳️

Outside Force:
- Morocco✅️✅️*(Quaterfinals)*

TheSuperNerd:
My list of Tournament favorites, Darkhorses and Outside force selections have now seen 9 out of 12 advance and three booted OUT.
2 out of the 3 booted out lost to 2 of the 8 that advanced. Inevitable.

4 out of the 9 advanced teams, face each other in the round of 16 (Brazil v Norway & Portugal v Spain) that begins later today with Canada v Morocco.

Argentina survives a huge scare and upset from brave underdogs, Cabo Verde (aka Cape Verde). The Reigning World Champions march on.

Up next from this selection:
Canada vs Morocco (Outside Force) - Round of 16.

Yeah. Im not sure how well we would have fared against Morroco under this new coach. That Morocco had a different coach.
zuchyblink:
A Moroccan side that we lost to on penalties with the help of the Ghanian referee. Chelle dey try.

Amedino99:
Nope i want France to violate whatever dignity Paraguay still has left. One of their Legend Chilavert recently said this France team is basically an african nation as against the team he played against in 1998 which funny enough had desailly, thuram, viera and henry. Let the "african" team show his country pepper.
Chilavert is a goat, looks like making racist comments these days has become mainstream! The France 98 team including zidane and djorkaeff are all Africans!

The Senegalese coach committed tactical blunder by keeping Mane till 86 minutes. He ought to have removed him because Mane legs were gone and he couldn't defend or transit the ball fast.

The second blunder was not substituting at that time to waste and delay play.

He is inexperience.

The third blunder was not defending the wings with 2 players on both flanks.

Bros!!! He ought to had sealed that place but Bobo allowed Belgium to cross balls from the wings.

It was very obvious that was Belgium's plan.

Now, Cape Verde showed us that we need to go back to the way we play ball in Africa. See skills .... see movement!!!!

European coached out natural skills out of us.

The movement was too much for Argentina to handle. See the second goal.

He passed through em Kolo. Kkkkk. The goal too na through Kolo. grin

There was no answer to that natural skills. Until we go back, Europe will keep dominating us.

I am not saying tactical play is not important but technicalities should be allowed to blend together.

I enjoyed the flair of those Cape Verde players. shocked

No defender at this World Cup has recorded more assists (2) or created more chances (15) than Achraf Hakimi. 📊🇲🇦

Proving again and again his World Class Quality at RB.

A 4th of July special in Philadelphia between Paraguay and France 🍿

A spot in the quarterfinals is on the line. France 4-0 Paraguay or scoreless draw leading to penalties 😆

When you depend on system, you have more guaranteed assurance for success. Morocco depends on system. We depend on magic thinking.

You will see Nigeria attempt to copy Morocco. At most it will last five years and then it will collapse. We hate planning and sustaining it.

Chaos, jaga jaga. Ehen. We love those ones

51 - CAF teams have now scored 51 goals at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

They are only the second confederation to see their national teams score 50+ goals in a single World Cup, along with UEFA (21 times).

Collective.

They have been selectively clinical today.

3 shots, all on target... 2 goals. That is clinical execution. Near 100%.
What I was analysing earlier on their clinical conversion is a WC K.O. record? Na wa. grin

My man, let me help and be more specific.

🔴NFF under Amaju Pinnick (2014-2022 as NFF head)

= Back to Back Afcon misses in 2015 and 2017.

= Missed 2022 WC too.

= Handed over to his boy, Gusau in 2022 and we missed another WC in 2026.

Pinnick directly linked to 2 different back to back misses for 2 major tournaments in our football history.

It is a real wonder how he is still walking free today.

That's what usually makes South American teams a handful to deal with. They have the technique to play ball with you but also have the physicality to do some serious roughhousing if they need to.

Ghana made 77 passes in an all out haram show in the first half vs England.

Paraguay's na 43 in 45+. That means per min of the first half Paraguay has no complete pass (0.95pass per min). This is insane.
