I don't support what the pastor did. I am only questioning the believe because of how he passed his message. A Christian must know how to defend what he believes which is Christianity and deal with an individual behaviour separately. How can someone said that Christians are worse than Boko Haram. That is a nonsense talk. Can he lives in a place or region Boko Haram are.
Of course that statement calls for deep reasoning!

Note that Boko haram are terrorists that are always on the run when the law is about to catch up with them but this man did this and expected the law to protect him.
Imagine if the traditionalists too should go and destroy his church and property what do you think he will do?

It's simple Boko Haram are not staying in any known location so that they could be questioned for what they are doing but he is that is why the law is dealing with him! 🙂

Wonderful. Good for them. This serves a lesson to those who take their faith as supreme. Especially the ignorant gullible Christians. Make una leave them. They all have been there before our existence. God is not powerless to tak action for himself and by himself.

Mumu people

Worship is ancestral. What is ancestral about Christianity and Islam?

How has it changed Africa? Instead, destroying us by the day in disguise

Nonsense fellas!

So a man of God in Delta State decided to walk into a shrine and destroy it to prove that the gods were false.
He probably thought nothing would happen.

Well… something happened. The matter landed in court.

According to reports, the Federal High Court sitting in Warri held that his actions violated the constitutional right of the shrine’s worshippers to freedom of religion.

The matter ended up in court.

The court held that the action was unconstitutional and violated the worshippers’ fundamental right to freedom of religion under Section 38 of the 1999 Constitution. The court also found it inconsistent with Section 10, which provides that no government shall adopt any religion as State religion.

As a result, the court ordered the pastor to:

✅ Rebuild the destroyed Egbesu shrine.
✅ Pay ₦100 million as general damages.
✅ Pay ₦100 million as exemplary damages.
✅ Pay ₦5 million as costs.
✅ Publish a public apology in two national newspapers.
✅ Stay at least 10 kilometres away from the worshippers.

Whether you are a Christian, Muslim, traditional worshipper or belong to any other religion, the Constitution protects your freedom to practise your religion.

You are free to preach your faith and try to convince others to join you, but you are not free to destroy another person’s place of worship because you disagree with their beliefs or because you want to prove your God is superior.

i used to say it that Christians ate one of the worst set of religion, but they will be criticising other religions. Go church many churches o, expecially those small small ones, u go dey see the way the pastor they insults all other religion even during preaching session. Putting hatred for members mind. Infact this, I think all pastors has done this maybe once in there service life

Nigeria runs a 2-tier judicial system because some are more equal than others.

Rubbish judgement!

How many of those churches burnt in the north have been compensated? I've seen churches burnt during post election violence, yet nothing was done. The church members had to contribute money and rebuilt their church.

Nigeria's judicial system is completely flawed. IMO

Muslim dey bully Christians, and Christians dey bully traditionalists.

But the Christians dey cry more about injustice and persecution forgetting that they bully traditionalists more than the way Muslims bullies them in the north.

My own be say, if you dey practice your religion or spirituality, nor carry am near me cos if you do anyhow, i go storm your dormot like a terrorizz and traumatize you with my battalion of timberland men.

Who burnt the said churches? Were they identified as members of a particular religious group that could be held accountable for the arson? Did a religious group claim responsibility for the destruction and dare the government to arrest and and prosecute the attackers?

When you want to make comparisons, do so sensibly.

A so-called pastor went to the worship place of the practitioners of another religion and burnt it down. He didn't hide his identity and didn't commit the crime with a mob of unidentified arsonists. He probably announced his intention of committing the crime before he actually went ahead. He probably boasted after committing the crime that nothing would happen - most likely, spiritually. Instead of retaliating spiritually as people expected, the victims, knowing who was responsible for the arson and desecration of their worship place, took the pastor to court and provided evidence that undeniably proved that he was responsible for the attack. The court found him guilty and passed its verdict as stipulated by law.

Yet, you chose to ignore the facts and made a most insensible comparison that would not stand an honest scrutiny. For instance, what evidence do you have that those that were known to be responsible for the burnt churches were not arrested and prosecuted? What evidence do you have that the churches were not compensated by the government where the crimes were committed?

It's not too late to learn to contribute to discussions like a thinking human being.

Nobody support that thing that the pastor carried out by himself. I am addicted to people coming to Christ. I want the world to be saved. I win souls. However, I will not support the pastor act. I am only trying to view your Christian beliefs. Because some people are Christian and yet they believe that you can serve God in any way or form.
That is why I asked if you believe only in the Christian God.

@funnyDM. You are missing the point here.
This is no rubbish judgement. It is simply justice.
There is no relationship between this judgement and non compensation for churches burnt in the North.
Firstly, the churches that were burnt, did any body take any legal actions against the culprits ?
Secondly, were the culprits apprehended or are they mob.
It is always difficult to institute cases against a mob action, unless the ring leader is known and then case will be instituted against him and others.
Let us not be be too sentimental and emotional when matters against our faiths and tribes are in the public domain.
We have to be factual.
Destroying another man's place of worship is an act of wickedness and should not be condoned.
Why not convert him by preaching to him.
Religion is a thing of the heart.
Some people do not attend any church or mosque, and they are not even traditionalist but they are far better than most who practice Christianity, Islam and traditional beliefs.
They simply believe in doing what is good and abhorring what is bad.
They have conscience.
They believe in equity, fairness, justice and love.
Abeg make the man go find 200M and settle his matter.
Some fights are meant for the gods not men.
Others wey dey go cut ancestral trees for villages , their own court cases dey come.

Rubbish judgement!
