Personally, I wouldn't see it as a big deal if I traveled abroad and experienced racism. I'm already used to discrimination because it's not much different from the tribalism and ethnic prejudice I witness in Nigeria every day.

I once had an Igbo youth corps member describe me as an "inferior Igbo" simply because I'm from Delta State rather than one of the eastern states.

Same thing I experienced when I stayed in Warri during my primary school days.

You can't blame them, but I am happy a number of people are getting educated on this, thanks to social media.
