What you should do is to endeavour to sincerely and calmly while thinking deep answer for yourself some vital questions.
1. Who am I and what can I do, where am I.
2. What does the Bible really say about Jesus and his name and others.
3. Is there a God.
4. Does he hears and answer, etc.

All the answer has already been given to us in his word. Remember just because something didn't work for someone doesn't mean its fake. Find out for yourself, who was the person that try to do that thing, did he do it according to outline principles, what does he know.

It all sum down to what the Bible already say, "My people are destroy (crush down, suffer, frustrated) because of lack of knowledge."

For example, the bible say, "Without faith you cannot please God." If you like cry till you cut yourself, even ask others to pray for you, fast, do whatever you think you know, if it's not by faith (in his word and him), you cannot please him (i.e. no precise results for you). as far as your validation is coming from the bible, your argument is baseless. Anything can be written in any book, it does not make it true. If God works, you dont need excuses to back his/her/it's failures. The christian faith is based on excuses and wishes. You take all outcomes as depending on your whims and mood.
