5 Signs Nigeria Has Damaged Your Mindset (a Wake Up Call) by PrinceOogaBooga(op):
5 SIGNS NIGERIA HAS DAMAGED YOUR mindset (A WAKE UP CALL)

The average Nigerian is intelligent but suffers very subtle mental issues, here are 5 proofs.

1)You go to Church or mosque to pray to God to solve the Problems a working government should provide.

Nothing makes Prayer Warriors like a bad Economy and a Government that fails to provide amenities that are seen as basic necessities in other parts of the world.
The church is not primarily created to meet your needs ..that's one of the mind damage that Nigeria has done to you.

If God should give us a good government over half the christians in Nigeria will have no use for God.

A lack of Amenities, like electricity, road transports, livable neighborhoods, food and water provision
Are not Hallmarks of good governance
.
They are not the peak of God’s love, so you don't have to die praying and fasting for them

They are not the product of Hardwork, so it's not a function of your squalor and labour.
But the average Nigerian believes otherwise.

That is why unlike every working country where these are seen as basic necessities.
The average Nigerian thinks he is only entitled to this, if he prays and fast and pays tithes to God like a good christian or Muslim.

Or if he cheats his way through work and bribes the most people or hustles the most.

What this does is that,

It removes accountability from the politicians and puts it on us or God.

You may argue that Nigerians demand their government to do better.
Yes they do, but not enough because they don't Expect them to actually do better

And why do they not expect, because of this mental damage I am talking about.

We subconsciously do not expect them to improve for a plethora of psychological reasons
And this is the difference between Nigerians and other countries where their citizens are not mentally shackled.

2)No Real Outrage

Nigerians are not shocked by anything.
There can be Power outages for a whole year, 40 Children kidnapped across all states, and a whole village can be wiped out.

And all Nigerians will do is post, shout, rant and make skits.

And this is not external, it's not like they are not doing anything because they physically can't, who can fight the government? That's what they say.

No, it's not just about the actual physical powerlessness, it's the mental cage of adaptation to suffering that psychological damages our ability to be outraged by injustice..

In contracts
You see the outrage in US and European Citizens over ordinary social changes?
Because they are shocked that elected leaders fail to do the needful.

Imagine the outrage that would rock the developed world if electricity suddenly became unstable, if schools went on strike, if they now had to pray to God to release hundreds of school children from the den of kidnappers.
It's not about the country , it's the people

We are mentally handicapped to even be outraged enough
And until those shackles are broken
No new election

No new candidate
No protest
No party
No tragedy, no New kidnapping across all secondary schools, no New Herdsmen attack
No Boko Haram bombing
No new News of looting and stealing and corruption
Will Force the Nigerian to break out of his mental shackle he will adapt
And continue like that enslaved fish, a worthy bondservant of his liquid cage.

3)Complain has become your coping mechanism

The African complains a lot and immediately goes back into fields of slave labour…instead of taking action, he cries and continues his wallowing.

The average Nigerian believes in complaining like his life depends on it.

When they see those who actually take action, they are shocked …that's why everyone is still waiting for the government to deal with the bandit Fulani insurgent…
Folding their hands till they are wiped off the face of the earth, waiting for “Government to handle security issues”

Once they see who actually fights back they are shocked and bewildered..some will shamelessly ask “why jungle Justice”?

Because the average Nigerian is a coward and an expert in complaining..why because that's his coping mechanism

4) You Don't Know how to exist in a system without Corruption.

Churches are filled every Sundays
Mosque are filled every fridays
Nigerians are very religious
But lack the Knowledge to exist in an incorrupt system.

How can a Nigerian survive in a system where you can't pay money to someone to “Run it for you”(whatever the context may be)

How can you just exist where they can't “work it” where you can't settle someone to settle another someone..

This is not a moral write up, it's purely idealogical…

Why Nigerians are like this is because this is the only system we have ever known.

Nigerians can never be saved until they realize that their problem is more internal than external.
Lack of electricity, insecure travel routes, the increasing uselessness of the naira and the unsure future of the economy isn't our main problem.
The reason why year in year out we continue to wallow around the issue of good governance with no end in sight is because we have been conditioned into abnormality.
And if existence in abnormality is all we have ever known, that remains our natural habitat.

We can complain all day, but if we lack how to function in a normal society we will never find a way out of that situation.

It's like a fish wishing for fresh air,
No, all you know is the river and the seas.
Fresh air may look nice, but your desire for it doesn't in any way mean that you know how to survive there.

In other words, like a fish we don't even know how to survive outside our natural ecosystem.

An average Nigerian has been mentally incapacitated and it's made worse because he doesn't know it.

The masters of our pain understand this and they have used it to consolidate and isolate power.

5) You are insensitive to Children

You may think this isn't mental damage, but it actually is, the average Nigerian had such a corrupt and abusive childhood that he has become insensitive to kids

In working society's, child marriage, child labour, child physical abuse aren't issue to rant about online, or make post or create online outrage while the problem continues.

These are issues people RISE and Ensures it is put to a stop
But aside from rejecting it from your family and friends in Jesus name, the average Nigerian doesn't care.

the begging almajiri on the street, or that small boy following a blind man about when he should be in school, invokes nothing but a slight discomfort in you .

Mental Illness…that we must remedy with knowledge

There is a solution and I and my Generation will soon share it, it's a matter of time

A side Note(on God’s Plan for Nigeria)
Also a mental damaging of expecting God to send angels to save Nigeria, when it comes to economic turnaround, that has never happened and we never happen, we are the ones who need a mindshift.

Nigeria isn't the center of Gods agender..God is after souls,
And souls are everywhere, if a nation continues to mismanage resources it will remain poor and God will still be God.

God In the US, God in China and God in Nigeria.
If we don't follow the steps to nation building we will be poor and God will still get his souls one way or the other.

The most worrisome is people who go to mountain or church on Monday morning to pray.

I usually see those people as totally unserious individual, how can a healthy and agile person heading to church on Monday morning, when you are supposed to be heading to working place.

If you are jobless, on Monday morning, it's better to stay indoor, or move around the streets or sites, maybe you can see where to work in other to receive income to feed your mouth or family.

The answer to your lengthy post is found is n Proverbs 29:2 - “ When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”.

Only the Church can bring proper Governance.

Tribalism yes but the pure and untamed religion has no issues as specified in James 1:27 - “ Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”.

Nobody is responsible for the damaged mindset. People are just generally wicked.
The British left the country and we couldn't manage ourselves.
Due to wickedness, a lot of people keep electing misfits.
The Black man needs to change their ideology.
Next election a large number of wicked people will still elect funny characters and the cycle continues.
The wicked ones think they are just catching cruise, not knowing they are practicing wickedness.

Re: 5 Signs Nigeria Has Damaged Your Mindset (a Wake Up Call) by kernniejay(m):
Another thing is that when you hear a good news and you think it is about propaganda or it has a political undertone, your mind has been damaged. For instance, many Nigerians still think that the incident of the Oyo school children kidnap and their rescue were all staged. Some actually believe in bad news than good news, that is why the fake videos of their torture went viral and was believed but the same people now question the video and photos of their release.

You are very correct. Most of these things started long time ago.TILUBOO helped amplifying corruption in Nigeria. One man ruling as president,he also doubles as Lagos State governor over the years.Gradually, this trend has since spread to many states where outgoing governors want to put their 'boys' there. These demonic act has really eaten deep into the fabrics of Nigeria, unfortunately some people are still hailing them.It will be very difficult to fix this country.

Why is it that peaceful Christians facing their businesses are the only ones who are being targeted by most of these articles.

I don't have money, instead of constituting menace to the society, I go to church to go and pray to my God and leave to you and the government alone... Now a lot of you people cannot take it...

The Muslims who were previously unemployed have finally found jobs for themselves... Kidnapping and terrorism...

Government is still trying to tackle their social menace... Now you are here castigating me about me choice of leaving my problems to God...

Be careful ooo and let a sleeping dog lie!

You see that Number 2?

The day Nigerians will HIT THE STREETS and shut down this country, there will be no camera phones. But till then, let's continue the SHOWBIZ protests and see how far we will ever go

If you live in a community where stealing a yam is taboo and comes with dire consequences, yam will be growing freely even on the concrete.

PlayerMeji:
Why is it that peaceful Christians facing their businesses are the only ones who are being targeted by most of these articles.

I don't have money, instead of constituting menace to the society, I go to church to go and pray to my God and leave the government alone...

You want to go to church it must be Monday morning, what happens to church you went on Sunday the previous day?

You must defend your free meal, but claiming you are fighting for God/religion.

I repeat, any agile and able body who is supposed to go to his or working place on Monday morning but heading to church, such person is a slave to his pastor. I won't be surprised if you are feeding fat on your own sheep in the name tithe and offering.

Na only you don talk sense here .

Mindset is the same as they are looking for change !

Is that not Lunacy ?

PrinceOogaBooga:
Our problem has never been colonisers or even corruption per sey...it has always been mindset..

We need to Change our Mentality, the black African race as a whole has a mentality not compatible with the morden world..and it their is no massive mindset change we will keep wallowing without real growth

That is one of my mission to revamp the thinking of the black man

You are spot on. I have seen the decay. … the mental decay. Absolute lack of self discipline and civil duty. It is always me me me me!

How do you explain a full grown adult peeing on the main road, or hiding behind an electric pole to defecate?

How do you explain a lady wearing a full-on body hug on a Monday morning. These are some of the things you see and wonder. How did we get here?

PrinceOogaBooga:

God go bless u abundantly for this...u dn talk am as e be..most nigerians are wicked and evil
