Folarin Balogun is available to play for the United States in their World Cup last-16 tie against Belgium after his one-game ban was suspended by Fifa.

The 25-year-old striker was shown a straight red card for a foul on Bosnia-Herzegovina defender Tarik Muharemovic as the co-hosts won their last-16 tie 2-0.

Fifa said that the ban will be suspended for a year.

"In line with article 27 of the Fifa disciplinary code, the implementation of the match suspension is suspended for a probationary period of one year," it said in a statement.

"If Folarin Balogun commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension shall be revoked and the sanction enforced without prejudice to any additional sanction imposed for the new infringement."

The Referee's decision should have been allowed to stand, even if we argue that the decision was wrong.
Reversing it sends the wrong signal of "playing politics" & favouring US as host.

That was a blatant error on the referees part.

That was never a red to start with.

The red card was due, he tackled the guy till the guy's leg bended, compared to others non of their legs got bended or near a dislocation point.

Now changing such a decision makes it even worse because this is clearly favoritism for such a tackle with or without intent to harm.
