This is insensitive. Everyone knows Osimhen has always had fitness struggles throughout his career.
Ok...that's the more reason we have to depend less and less on Osimhen and start urgently looking for a decent and fit enough 9 who is several years younger as well.

Brazil needs to get away from these European influences in their game and go back to what brought them success. Seeing Holland and Brazil playing this defensive brand of football this tournament really frustrated the living hell out of me.

Holland and Brazil really introduced me to soccer with their brand of football in USA '94 and France '98. I always have a soft spot for both countries, and outside of Nigeria are always the teams I supported. We saw Holland play against their DNA versus Morocco, and they are home. Brazil played against their DNA today, and they are on their way home.

I was watching the game with my dad, and my dad was saying the Brazilian team of yesteryear would be shocked at what they are watching. My dad became a lover of football watching the 1970 Brazilian World Cup-winning team. Brazil is never and can never be a counterattacking team. It is not in their DNA. Get rid of all this European influence and go back to what made the world love the Brazilian national team. Norway dominating Brazil is an unforgiven sin against soccer and shall never be forgiven.

Carlo Ancelotti, you have committed an unforgivable sin against the lovers of Joga Bonito football associated with the Brazilian national team. Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil is not Italy; they are completely different people that thrive playing the game completely differently from each other, and trying to impose the Italian philosophy on Brazilian football is a crime against the lovers of the beautiful game.
Brazil played attacking football. There were lapses in midfield but for the most part they were just unlucky today.

Although Haaland scored the goals, Nyland won Norway this game. He made at least three nearly impossible saves in addition to the penalty.

Reminder: Today’s match between Mexico and England is maybe the last World Cup match in the Estadio Azteca’s history

Brazil had only 34% of the ball possession in that match, which is their lowest on record in a WC match 🙆🏽‍♂️

Ancelotti has finished them!

Ørjan Nyland is free agent at the age of 35, but he played the match of his life against Brazil and is one of Norway’s key heroes in this historic victory.

Harry Kane and England might be too much for Mexico. Never discount the power of home advantage for the Mexican team. Vociferous atmosphere in the Azteca stadium

Indeed but I'm not giving up on our silent steady resurgence under Chelle.

Anyway, from checks, Brazil dropped zero pts for losing this game. They remain #5 in the world in the live FIFA world rankings.

Morocco stay on #6 for now.

But Norway gained 33.6 pts and move up to World #19 for now in the Live rankings.

Haaland and The Norwegian Vikings keep making waves🌊🌊🌊

Do Egypt still overtake us, despite not winning in regulation time?

Yes, they overtook us. Egypt gained 12.3 pts for the P.S.O win vs Australia. That moves them to 24th currently on the Live rankings, 2 places above Nigeria.

We never add the duels lost for today ooo. grin and Oopps... Haaland scored again vs Gabriel 😅 Twice. And in a WC match. What sort of Ownership is this now? EPL and WC... same thing. grin

Do you know that Norway's Orjan Nyland is currently a free agent at 35?

This past season at Sevilla, he was a perpetual benchwarmer even in games Akor Adams was scoring to keep Seville in La Liga. Nyland only played 5 league games including the last game of the season with La Liga spot already secured.

But here he is at the WC as Norway's number 1... dropping a GK masterclass vs Brazil in a KnockOUTs game.

Football ehn. Beautiful and also mysterious for many reasons.

🗣️Ørjan Nyland: "I was absolutely determined. I had a good warm-up and preparation period. I have a wonderful team who’ve supported me and believed in me. It’s truly wonderful to play matches like this at such a major event. There’s a great deal of hard work behind it all. Many difficult hours I spent on my own. And most importantly, my family—my wife, who has stood by me like a rock throughout all this. My children..."

One darkhorse (Norway) emerged better and stronger than another darkhorse (Brazil). The Vikings led by World class Haaland swallowed the Samba Boys who had no Samba/Jinga rhythms in their plays today.

8 out of my 12 Favorites/Darkhorses/Outside force selections are still in. 4 are OUT.
3 of the 4 OUT got booted out by 3 of the 8 still in the competition.
And another one will inevitably fall in the quarters because 2 of the 8 left so far (pending other RO16 games) meet each other.

2 out of the 8 that remain meet each other in upcoming RO16 games...."Portugal vs Spain."

Round of 16 action continues...

Next-up from this selection:
- Mexico vs England (Top 5 fav)

Top 5 Favs in no order:
- Spain✅️⏳️
- France✅️✅️*(Quarter finals)*
- Portugal✅️⏳️

France (one of my Top 5 favs) and Morocco, My Only Outside force selection, both advance to the Quarterfinals.

9 out of my 12 Favorites/Darkhorses/Outside force selections are still in. 3 are OUT. 2 out of 3 were booted out by 2 of the 9.
Now, another will inevitably fall as France will battle Morocco in the Quarters.

4 out of the 9 that remain meet each other in the RO16 battles still expected.... Brazil vs Norway & Portugal vs Spain.
