Try Trustbanc or STL for 19 to 20 percent. You may sometimes get 21 percent.

In terms of service quality, First Ally seems to be the best, and their rate fluctuates between 17% and 18%. Credit your account and your money reflects immediately. Redeem and you get your money immediately.

Make sure any MMF manager you are using is SEC registered.

NB: Any information you need is available online for free.

Hello house,
Can someone be kind to provide a list of the current interest yield of top rated Mutual funds providers.
I am seeking to move away from Meristem Mutual funds as the yield unattractive at 15.71%
You can check out ARM, their yield today is 17.54% and it has been hovering around that for so many weeks now

This 17.54%, is it the net exclusive of WHT and other charges ?

Guys please, I don’t know where to post this.

I’ve been having issues opening a CSCS account with Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers for the past three months. As someone living outside Nigeria, I’ve provided every document and piece of information they requested, yet the process is still not complete despite countless email exchanges.
Last month, I was encouraged to subscribe for a bond, with the assurance that I didn’t need the CSCS account immediately and that it would be provided afterward. I went ahead with the subscription based on that advice. However, since then, I haven’t received any update or confirmation regarding either the bond subscription or my CSCS account.
I followed up again recently because another subscription window is now open. They assured me everything would be finalized this week, but today is Saturday and there’s still no progress or communication.
At this point, I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone experienced something similar? Will the bond I subscribed for still be allotted to me even though my CSCS account hasn’t been opened yet? If it is allotted, how would that work without a CSCS account? I’d appreciate any advice or insights.

Again, which other broker works best for someone outside Nigeria

So, i was discussing with a friend last weekend and he told me about the stanbic IBTC Pension FUND 1, though my pension account is in FUND 2, but looking at the rates, I had asked to be upgraded to FUND 1. Just info for anyone interested. See the rates
I have also changed.

I random opened one newsletter from my PFA to see that Fund 1 has been beating Fund 2 for several years.

I switched immediately

First of all, Stanbic has been behaving like they do not need customers again for more than 4 years now. Some of us are only dealing with them for old time sake. Their focus is only on advertising and bringing new customers without taking care or settling them in as required.

You are abroad and complaining for just 3 months neglect. I am in Nigeria and tried to contact them about 6 years ago for opening a stock trading account which is what comes with the CSCS account. My mails were replied after about 9 months. I couldn't do it.

Yes, with Stanbic IBTC you can actually invest in FGN Bond even without CSCS account, the bond subscribed for can be alloted to you even without the account but the only issue is that it will be warehoused in their own CSCS Instead of yours. To sure it was actually purchased on your behalf, You should always make sure you request for proof of the investment. It can always be sent through email.

Finally, any broker that has only access can work outside Nigeria so long as you have internet access and login details. The issue is having one that deals in bond since that's your area of focus. I use Morgan capital securities limited but they don't deal in Bonds. Apart from security/shares they deal in Treasury Bills and Sukuk but not FGB.

You can contact Afrinvest, UCap, DLM, Cardinal Stones etc and see.

Wow! This is strange! Thank you for your response. I really appreciate. They have been replying my emails but it has been one story or the other. I’m frustrated already. I’d have to try another broker as you have advised. Thanks once again.

Neurotika:
I find these contrasting views somehow interesting. But I usually prefer grounding my analysis in concrete numbers.

For instance, suppose Nestle traded at #200 in 2006 and stands at #1,300 in 2026. A #50 million investment made in 2006 would today be worth approximately #325 million (ignoring dividends and bonus issues). That represents a 550% total return, or roughly 9.81% per annum compounded.

By comparison, a MMF delivering a steady effective annual return of 11% over the same 20-year period would have grown the same #50 million into about #403 million…that’s a 706% total return.

So viewing it from the capital appreciation lens alone, a solid MMF will usually outperform an average stock over long periods. Equities’ real edge comes from dividends, especially when reinvested. But these are purely based on management discretions which makes your returns more uncertain….

At the end of the day, the route taken doesn’t matter. The destination is the real deal. Just ensure you don’t build wealth on assumptions, regardless of the path you choose.

I believe it is net as I am still testing it and since Stanbic has decided to peg theirs at 15%. I should be moving all my funds to ARM soon

You need a stanbic ibtc account.... Then you can apply for the loan up to 80% of your total mmf balance

The Stanbic IBTC Smart Loan is a digital, paperless facility designed for Money Market Fund account holders. It allows you to borrow up to ₦200 million without liquidating your investments.

Stanbic can only loan a customer just 80% of the money they have already? cheesy grin What a smart loan!

I don’t even blame them. Which right thinking person has the money he needs, accumulating interest income at 15% would leave it then use it as collateral to borrow just 80% of the money he already has at a higher interest rate then his investment which he can easily liquidate for use undecided

It’s a foolish idea if you ask me

Lolz. It's indeed a funny, pathetic smart loan playing on people's psychology.

You don't need to look far to see that some here are staff of these fund managers.

Re: Mutual Funds by Druss(m): 6:31am On Jul 06
Indeed StanbicIBTC is behaving as if they don't need old customers anymore. Their return on MMF is quite poor. Seriously considering moving to another fund.

Stanbic had sent mails multiple times informing customers they will no longer accept this method of paying money into any of your investment platforms with them, you can only deposit money with them through your wallet, they won't treat or accept any funds transfer to them through any other means..

You could get more informations about their new method of depositing money into your mutual fund account, I abandoned stanbic long ago due to their poor rates on mutual fund.
So which is the best option for money market and the rate?

Please guys, I need your help.
On 1st July, 2026, I initiated a transfer of ₦946,084.15 from my Equity Income Fund to my Money Market Fund. My Equity Income Fund has since been debited, and I also received an email confirming that the redemption was successful.

However, as of today, the transferred amount has not been credited to my Money Market Fund balance.
I have called their customer service line several times but no response. I sent several mails yet no reply.

I don’t know what to do next.

Which fund manager?
Why the express transfer from equity to money market fund, maybe that is why the processing is taking time. I think it would have been faster to withdraw from equity & buy the mmf yourself.

It’s GT fund Managers. I didn’t know it would be like this, else I would have just made a normal withdrawal and buy MMF.

I don’t know if it’s a glitch from their end or this is how it usually takes time.

Not only wallet . Everyone that has an MMF account with Stanbic as been assigned a virtual personal account number carrying your name domiciled at UBA Bank . Enter that account number anywhere and your personal name pops up. You can just use your MMF 🆔 number in your remarka as you deposit

It was not a direct redemption I did. I did a transfer from Equity Income Fund to Money Market Mutual Fund.

It’s over 4 working days now.
