Just say you want Morocco to face Argentina. My Maroc has France next, Spain is a potential semis hurdle for either. Argentina has to get past Egypt. CV showed Argentina is very beatable. After Egypt, Colombia is likely (if the Swiss are overcome) and after that hurdle is the might of England's brave lions or the Adventurous Vikings. For me, Morocco vs Argentina final is very unlikely but still among the probables as things stand. mostob: |

CR7 is OUT! The Spanish turned on the style and were in control from Min 1 to Min 90+. They were never really in danger of losing as it was their own forwardmen who missed chances upon Chances. A fine win for Spain over C.Ronaldo and Portugal. This is Spain's first Round of 16 win at the WC since after their 2010 WC triumph. The Round of 16 curse is officially broken... too as I expected. Now, 7 out of my 12 Favorites/Darkhorses/Outside force selections are still in. 5 are OUT. 4 of the 5 OUT got booted out by 4 of the 7 still in the competition. And 2 more will inevitably fall in the quarter finals coz 4 of the 8 left so far (pending other RO16 games) meet one another (🏴v🇸🇯 and 🇫🇷v🇲🇦). 2 out of my 7 remaining selections are up next. Belgium goes first vs USA. Then much much later on July 7... World Champs, Argentina take on Egypt. Round of 16 action continues... 🟣Next-up: - USA vs Belgium (Darkhorse) Top 5 Favs in no order: - Spain✅️✅️*(Quarter finals)* - France✅️✅️*(Quarter finals)* - - Argentina✅️⏳️ - England✅️✅️*(Quarter finals)* Solid Dark horses: - - - - Belgium✅⏳️ - - Norway✅️✅️*(Quarter finals)* Outside Force: - Morocco✅️✅️*(Quaterfinals)* 💯 TheSuperNerd: |

Not a big fan of his, but he is a great player. Watching him cry really touched me. Big ups Ronnie. It is just unfortunate you came during Messi's era but you did your best.

No third place team left. Morocco and Norway (and Egypt if they win) are the only 2nd placed teams in quarterly final. |

USA fans truly hyped for this fixture. They wont wanna follow the paths of Canada and Mexico who both exited in the Round of 16 but that will take some doing coz the Belgians, even though, underpar for the most of this WC, still have the Elite quality to knock out the Americans. From my anticipation angle, it may not be as titanic as Mexico vs England but it is gonna have fireworks especially with Balogun, that should not be available, starting. |

And uh yeah, Unai Simon extends his Cleansheets record at the World Cup to 609mins without conceeding. This began at the 2022 WC and has carried on into the 2026 edition. The last player to beat Simon in goal for Spain was Ao Tanaka of Japan in the group stage back in 2022. Japan won 2-1. Spain are also yet to concede a single goal at this World Cup. The only side left with an unbreached defence. They are now in the Quarter finals. |

Belgium is up by a goal within 10 mins already against USA. The US defense looks completely lost. |

Shocking first quarter from the USA. They've let Belgium run all over them USA really needed this hydration break Mauricio Pochettino. What have you got? Huge tactical team talk here |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 9JAMac10: 1:29am On Jul 07 |
The USA are seeing more possession and trying to build attacks patiently, but clear-cut chances have been limited. Belgium look compact defensively and dangerous every time they break forward, with Nicolas Raskin continuing to dictate transitions after providing the assist. Thibaut Courtois has not been heavily tested yet as Belgium keep the American attack at arm's length. |
