Tim Ream and the US backline looking like high schoolers.

Belgium are no longer just controlling their punishing mistakes. At 2–1, they’ve shown better efficiency in the final third. USA are still alive, but they’re chasing the game and must be careful not to concede the third before half-time.

Rudi Garcia tactics have got Belgium outplaying USA so far. By passed press , been very physical and played their best football so far this tournament. Dropping some key players from starting lineup seems to have been justified so far at least.

USA can’t compete with Belgium. They can’t even get the ball across midfield. This is rough to watch. USA needs overhaul before they can compete with the top European teams

I maintain the best the US has looked within the past 20 years was 2014 when they took Belgium to Extras.

They beat subpar opposition, get their weak backline exposed by Turkey (led by carpenter Tim Ream) and then choke against a real team. Same story for the past 30 years. The truth of the matter is America is nowhere near close to rubbing shoulders with top European/South American opposition.

I’m so happy US lost even with “Balogun” on the pitch. They probably could have played better without him.him playing was just extra motivation for Belgium and that led to them having their best game of the tournament.
I wonder how Fifa is going to handle this loophole going forward because trump essentially confirmed he made a deal for balogun because other countries must be allowed to make such deals as well

CR7 is OUT! The Spanish turned on the style and were in control from Min 1 to Min 90+. They were never really in danger of losing as it was their own forwardmen who missed chances upon Chances. A fine win for Spain over C.Ronaldo and Portugal.
