Dannyxy:To beat the eagles is simple, seize the midfield from them and they will find it difficult to score but if they find their way and get two goals ahead of you, you ain’t coming back to win that game! Simple The Eagles should never be used to justify Senegal and Egypt disgraceful outing! |

minsfelix2:Bulgaria were semi finalists at the 94 World Cup before you go too far, even Greece we beat 2-0 in 94 became European champions in 2004, with some experienced players from that 94 team. Only Morocco and Ghana have surpassed or equal our winning record in the World Cup despite our absence in how many editions now. That tells you the true pedigree of the eagles. Both Egypt and Morocco could not beat this current eagles in regulation time at the Afcon so what are we saying |

AndSunGorilla:Somehow I would prefer Argentina to face a European team that will out posses them. Columbia match up will be too end to end and that might just work out for the Argentines. Argentina have shown that they can score their way out of trouble. An organized defensive side like Switzerland won’t give them scoring chances. |

Goke7:Ok bro you have a point and I agree partially to those points...but but Before they reached that semifinals, they were just like a glorified Tunisia of Africa(7world cups appearance 5group stage exit, one R16 and 1SF) Greece no b world cup material..they are just like Iceland that beat England and came to Meet super eagles and chop 2-0.... |

Dannyxy:Italy scored 2 late goals after 88 minutes against our golden generation Eagles, why do u think France and Argentina would not do so. Nigeria is yet to defeat a traditional powerhouse team at the world cup, when we defeated Spain, they were yet to be among the powerhouse,. It's high time we start thinking we can win any of them after what Morocco have done |

Missed the live match but I've gone to watch the whole replay make person no piss for my leg and tell me it's raining. Egypt would have made me crash out terribly for deceiving us by taking a 2 goal lead. Where is the dark arts they love to use in Africa ![]() No agenda should be tolerated. The overturned Zico goal mirrors Osimhen's own at 2023 AFCON SF against SA. And there was no foul on Salah, it is rather the shirt tug by McAllister that was worthy of review. It is the misuse of VAR that has made people expect a foul from just anything. |

JohnBullMySon:I prefer Colombia, I don't see the Swiss as much of a threat. But in less than 2 hours we shall know for sure. |

minsfelix2:Before you go further that Bulgarian team was the reason France was not at the 94 World Cup! The same Greece we could not beat them at the 2010 World Cup and you say the 2004 euro champions are not World Cup material? Common |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by AndSunGorilla: 9:30pm On Jul 07 |
Odunayaw:Yeah you are right but then in "agenda's" defense, the Osimhen one was a penalty shout but this Zico's one was not anyway close to a penalty, far far away from the 18 yard box and definitely not a goal scoring opportunity for Argentina. That said, until FIFA sets another precedent, the match has been won and lost and Argentina fought back to win, Egypt has themselves to blame. |

mostob: Henry, Rosicky, Hleb, Fabregas, Ljunberg, Song, RVP etc Not to talk of Kanu who I loved (though I watched his prime through all those VCR tapes)I loved them to pieces and when they started to leave, I saw CR7 and ported. Though I was a closet fan till 2013 or so and finally left them. |

Odunayaw:Na Salah kill Egypt today nothing anyone go tell me, na that dark art e Dey try use to get penalty but it backfired on him the player was even still far a bit from him all he needed to do with this kind of ability was to keep possession and perhaps drag the defender to the byline, if am the coach I will put the blame where it belongs rather than shouting about rigging of any match. I remember our match against France in 2014 keshi put the blame straight on enyeama for the first goal we conceded he no even bother talk story about how rough the French were that day. Sometimes the decisions made by players who are suppose to be leaders on the pitch decides crucial Games. |

AndSunGorilla:Martinez was working to put in a cross before being stamped on the foot. So it ought to count as a goal scoring opportunity. Maybe just maybe it's the dark arts instinct that Egypt will rue. |

We couldn't beat zimbabwe in two legs of qualifiers. I wont be that optimistic of their chances of holding a 2-0 lead against the reigning world champions. They have not shown capacity to hold their forth against top teams especially not in recent times. Portugal vs Nigeria was like 2 months ago we saw what they are capable of. Dannyxy: |

That was a very ridiculous call. How can you judge same scenario differently? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw VAR and referee turned blind eyes to that penalty call by Egypt. The referee was even intimidating the Egyptians for asking him to check VAR. I am damn sure if he went to look VAR, Egypt would surely get penalty. He knew and decided to be adamant. |

forgiveness:The ball had been taken from his feet cleanly before this. It was while trying to turn to recover the ball the legs came together. I don't see the impediment of play really and in my opinion it is the misuse of VAR that has made us expectant of anything to be given as a foul
