tobiyclassy:Good morning. Yes, it is fixable in many cases, provided the repairs are carried out correctly. For a 2017 Toyota Corolla with deployed or damaged door airbags, the vehicle should first undergo a complete diagnostic scan to determine the extent of the damage. Depending on the impact, the repair may involve replacing the affected door airbag, inspecting or replacing the crash sensors, checking the seat belt pretensioners, repairing any damaged wiring, and resetting or replacing the SRS (Airbag) control module if required. Simply clearing the dashboard warning light without properly repairing the SRS system is unsafe and is not a professional solution. The airbag system is a critical safety feature and should be restored to factory operating condition. You can bring the vehicle to Ryan Automotive Limited for a comprehensive inspection and diagnosis. Our diagnostic process includes: • Full computerized scan of the SRS/Airbag system • Identification of all deployed or faulty components • Wiring and crash sensor inspection • Professional repair/replacement recommendations • SRS module diagnosis and programming where applicable • Verification that the airbag warning light goes off only after the system is fully restored We attend to customers from different parts of Lagos and beyond by appointment. 📞 Call/WhatsApp: +234 911 306 9560 We’ll be glad to inspect the vehicle and restore the airbag system professionally and safely. |

ugreat:I read the post. The reason I included that point is because many vehicles with deployed airbags are presented for “airbag light off” without the SRS system being properly restored. It’s a common industry issue, so I intentionally added a safety note for anyone reading the thread not because I assumed that’s what the poster. intended. If you disagree with any technical point I made, feel free to explain why it’s incorrect. My 2014 Toyota Sienna gear delays only when I engage in D mode. Note this is noticeable when you have driven for long. At cool engine it engages less than 2 secs At hot engine it’s delays more time. It’s drive smooth with no issues. When engaged in R mode, there is absolutely no delay. Please house kindly recommend a professional with records for this. |
| Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by RyanAutomotive: 12:22pm On Jul 07 |
Ki Omayie:. Good afternoon sir. Vehicle: Toyota Sienna 2014 Concern: Delayed engagement when shifting into Drive (D) after the engine is fully warmed up. Reverse (R) engages normally, and the vehicle drives smoothly once it engages. Let’s address this properly before anybody recommends a gearbox replacement or starts replacing parts by trial and error. * Understanding the Symptom From your explanation: • At cold start, Drive engages within about 2 seconds. • After driving for a long distance (when the transmission is hot), Drive takes much longer to engage. • Reverse engages immediately with no delay. • Once Drive finally engages, the transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. This is a very important observation because it helps narrow the diagnosis. * Important Observation The fact that the delay occurs only in Drive and becomes worse when the transmission is hot suggests that the problem is likely related to hydraulic pressure loss or an internal transmission control issue, rather than a complete gearbox failure. As transmission fluid heats up, it becomes thinner. If there is wear inside the transmission, hydraulic pressure can leak internally, making it take longer to engage Drive. The fact that Reverse remains normal is also significant because Drive and Reverse use different hydraulic circuits and clutch packs. * Possible Causes 1, Worn Forward Clutch Seals (Most Common) The forward clutch is responsible for engaging Drive. If its seals are worn, pressure leaks internally when the transmission is hot, resulting in delayed Drive engagement. 2, Valve Body Wear The valve body directs hydraulic pressure to the appropriate clutch packs. Wear or sticking valves can delay pressure build-up, especially when the fluid reaches operating temperature. 3, Pressure Control Solenoid Performance A weak or sticking pressure control solenoid may not regulate hydraulic pressure correctly under hot operating conditions. In some cases, this may not immediately trigger a fault code. 4, Incorrect or Degraded Transmission Fluid If: • The wrong ATF specification was used, • The fluid level is incorrect, • Or the fluid has deteriorated, it can contribute to delayed engagement. However, fluid alone is usually not the root cause when the problem consistently appears only after the transmission is hot. 5, Internal Hydraulic Wear Higher-mileage transmissions may develop internal wear that only becomes noticeable at operating temperature due to reduced hydraulic sealing efficiency. * What Should Be Checked Now Before replacing any transmission components: 1, Perform a professional computerized transmission diagnostic scan. 2, Check for: • Current, pending, and history transmission fault codes. 3, Verify: • Correct ATF specification. • Transmission fluid level at the proper operating temperature. • Fluid condition (burnt smell or contamination). 4, Review live transmission data, including: • Line pressure command. • Shift timing. • Solenoid operation. • Transmission fluid temperature. 5, If electronic systems check out, perform a hydraulic pressure test to confirm whether the transmission is maintaining the required line pressure when hot. * Do NOT Do This • Do NOT rush into replacing the TCM. • Do NOT replace the entire gearbox based only on delayed Drive engagement. • Do NOT continue adding transmission additives hoping to solve the problem. • Do NOT ignore the issue because the vehicle still drives normally once engaged. The earlier this is diagnosed, the greater the chance of preventing further internal wear. * Professional Insight From your description, I am encouraged by the fact that: • Reverse engages normally. • The transmission shifts smoothly once Drive is engaged. • There are no complaints of slipping between gears. These signs suggest that the transmission may still be salvageable if diagnosed early. In our experience, many cases like this are traced to valve body wear, pressure control issues, or internal hydraulic leakage rather than a completely failed transmission. A proper diagnosis now can save you the cost of an unnecessary gearbox replacement. * Ryan Automotive Limited Recommendation The next step is a structured transmission diagnosis, including: • Professional computerized diagnostic scanning. • Transmission live-data analysis. • ATF specification and level verification. • Hydraulic pressure testing. • Valve body and pressure control system evaluation. At Ryan Automotive Limited, we diagnose transmission faults systematically before recommending repairs or replacements. Our approach is to identify the exact root cause, helping clients avoid unnecessary expenses and guesswork. If you are within Lagos or can bring the vehicle down, Ryan Automotive Limited will be glad to carry out a comprehensive transmission assessment and advise you on the most appropriate and cost-effective solution. Hello Everyone, good afternoon. Please I have a reoccurring vibration issues with my 07 Lexus GS350. This car vibrates when switching from gear 1 to gear 2, and also vibrates when I make a turn. I have replaced axle and front propeller shaft, and also replaced a damaged sump cover that supports the front axle auxilliary (differential carrier), yet the car still vibrates. Can someone please recommend a good auto-mechanic I could use to resolve this vibration issue? I'd sincerely appreciate. @ RyanAutomotive, @ Louiscars @ Kingreign |
| Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by RyanAutomotive: 1:38pm On Jul 08 |
mojounited:Good afternoon sir. Vehicle: Lexus GS350 2007 Concern: Vibration when shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear, and vibration while making turns. Front axle, front propeller shaft, and the damaged differential carrier/sump support have already been replaced, but the vibration persists. Let’s address this properly before more parts are replaced unnecessarily. * Understanding the Symptom From your explanation: • The vibration occurs during the 1–2 gear shift. • The vibration also occurs when making turns. • The front axle has been replaced. • The front propeller shaft has been replaced. • The damaged differential carrier support has been repaired. The fact that the vibration still exists after these repairs strongly suggests that the root cause has not yet been identified. Replacing parts without confirming the source of the vibration can quickly become expensive. * Important Observation The two conditions you mentioned are very significant: 1, The vibration occurs during the 1–2 shift. 2, The vibration also occurs while turning. These are two different operating conditions, but they may still have a common cause. The vibration may not necessarily be coming from the transmission itself. It could originate from the drivetrain, suspension, steering, differential, or engine mounting system. * Possible Causes 1, Engine and Transmission Mounts One of the first things I would inspect is the engine and transmission mounting system. A collapsed or torn mount can cause: • Vibration during gear changes. • Excessive drivetrain movement. • Vibration under load. • Vibration while turning. Even if the transmission is healthy, worn mounts can produce very similar symptoms. 2, Front Differential and Transfer Assembly Since the GS350 is AWD (if yours is the AWD variant), the front differential and transfer assembly should be carefully inspected. Check for: • Bearing wear. • Internal play. • Differential mounting wear. • Excessive backlash. 3, Front Suspension and Steering Components Because the vibration also appears during turns, inspect: • Lower control arm bushings. • Ball joints. • Tie rod ends. • Stabilizer links. • Wheel bearings. These components can create vibrations that become more noticeable while cornering. 4, Transmission Live Data Although the transmission shifts, the 1–2 shift event should still be evaluated. A professional scan should monitor: • Shift timing. • Torque converter lock-up. • Transmission line pressure. • Shift adaptation values. This helps determine whether the vibration is occurring because of drivetrain loading or a transmission control issue. 5, Driveshaft and Driveline Alignment Even after replacing the propeller shaft, verify: • Proper installation. • Correct balancing. • Universal joint condition (where applicable). • Driveshaft alignment. A new component can still produce vibration if installation or alignment is incorrect. * Do NOT Do This • Do NOT continue replacing suspension or drivetrain parts based on assumptions. • Do NOT condemn the gearbox simply because the vibration occurs during a gear change. • Do NOT ignore the vibration, as prolonged operation can accelerate wear on other drivetrain components. A vibration is a symptom—not a diagnosis. * Professional Insight The fact that you’ve already replaced the axle, propeller shaft, and differential support without resolving the issue tells me that this vehicle requires a systematic diagnostic approach, not further trial-and-error repairs. In cases like this, I prefer to verify the source of the vibration through road testing, live data analysis, and physical inspection before recommending any additional parts. Very often, the actual fault is a worn mount, differential issue, suspension component, or driveline alignment problem that was overlooked while attention was focused on the axle. * Ryan Automotive Limited Recommendation The next step should be a structured drivetrain diagnosis, including: • Professional computerized diagnostic scanning. • Road test under the exact conditions that produce the vibration. • Live transmission data analysis. • Engine and transmission mount inspection. • Differential and drivetrain evaluation. • Suspension and steering system inspection. At Ryan Automotive Limited, we believe in identifying the root cause before replacing components. This saves our clients unnecessary expenses and ensures the fault is corrected properly the first time. If you’re within Lagos or can bring the vehicle down, Ryan Automotive Limited will be glad to carry out a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and pinpoint the exact source of the vibration before recommending any repairs. Good evening guys, My AC chills very well in the morning and evening time. But during a hot sunny afternoon, it struggles to chill. The car is a 2013 Toyota Corolla. What do you think could be the issue? The gas is still intact and nothing has been touched on the AC since car was bought as Tokunbo last year. I would appreciate responses. I don't want to give it local technicians to mess up. |

I am suspecting a leak in either intake or exhaust manifold in my honda accord 010 V6... No error codes from scan Nd no rough idling or whatever. The only thing I noticed was that when I newly got the car ,on early morning cold starts there was usually steam kinda coming out from exhaust even water droplets but they worked on the cat system and after that the steam is usually kinda faint on cold morning start or even unoticeable.... Pls is it the work of panel or mechanic to actually inspect for any leaks and possibly a fix ? |

Grupo:Check the high side and low side pressure. Get a competent ac tech who has the manifold gauge to do this. It should be done in the afternoon (to replicate your symptoms). He will be able to determine if your issue if from the compressor or condenser. |

9icetoo:Please what should they specifically check out for when checking the high and low pressure. I want to order a guage and try out some DIY project using the car. As I don't trust the local mechanics here. They may make the issue worse for me. They only know how to fill gas and tell you to convert to manual compressor. |
| Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by 9icetoo(m): 2:33pm On Jul 12 |
Grupo:I believe the low side should be between 30 and 40 psi with engine running. If it is lower, you may be low on refrigerant. The high side should be between 200 and 250 psi. If it is higher, you may have a bad expansion valve or weak compressor. If it is higher, you may have a blocked condenser or failing fan or blocked inline filter or pinched discharge line. Ambient temps may affect these figures slightly. |
