Hello everyone 🤗 A brother or a step brother is having this issue and he is over 45+ now so I told him I haven't seen such in my life even if he is older than me with just 2 years . Anytime he finish washing plate or hands after eating his finger will got irritated until I snapped it and upload to AI to get the real name called dermatophagia.. Plz is there anyone that have seen this before in Nigeria or my brother was from the Mars or Jupiter. See pictures below 👇 2 Likes

He should cut off the hands. I recommend him to relocate to shari'a state and report himself to Hisba for stealing his fingers. Alhamdulillah, they will chop off both hands and legs and there will be nothing to bite.  On a serious note. That fellow is under bondage. People are built different. This is extreme. I think people hurt themselves or engage in bodily mutilation as a coping mechanism from prolonged depression or something similar This person may not be physically in touch with anyone. Honestly I have same problem. I bite my finger every time and once water touches it, it even irritates me and I hide it. But am unable to stop because when I see the way it is I will try to bite it more to make it smooth but at the end I will cause more damage. The funny thing is that it doesn't hurt. I really want to stop it but I can't. Been doing this since I was very young and I'm in my early 40s as well. 4 Likes

It is a condition called Onychophagia.. There is likely one or two persons also biting their fingers in your family. It is caused by one or several of these factors- anxiety, boredom, and genetic predisposition. With great self control you can stop it. Get finger gloves and wear it often. You may also use bitter finger cortex mixture on your fingernails, such that when you chew your fingers, the repulsive bitter taste discourages you from further chewing..
