Makinde's Ally Taofeek Arapaja Dumps PDP, Reveals Next Move by Akpakomiza2(op): 10:19am On Jul 09

The National Secretary of the Seyi Makinde-backed and Turaki faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Taofeek Arapaja, has dumped the party.

Following his resignation from the party, Arapaja met with the Oyo State All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Sharafadeen Alli ahead of his defection to the APC.

Arapaja had reportedly met with President Bola Tinubu as consultations over his proposed defection into the APC.

He is a former deputy governor of Oyo State and National Deputy Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

At the time of filing this report, Governor Makinde has not made any comment on the development.

Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the PDP National Secretary under the Tanimu Turaki faction, has dumped the PDP, met with Oyo State APC governorship candidate Senator Sharafadeen Alli ahead of his defection to the APC.

People avoid it like a plague. Nobody wants to associate with a party doomed for failure and disintegration before 2026 Dec grin

In 2023, at least he had Oriyomi Hamzat, Surri, Auxiliary and his boys, Bisi Ilaka, Fayose, King Ladoja's wife, and Hosea Agboola on his side. Even some APC members in Oyo supported him at the expense of their own candidate, Teslim Folarin. None of them is with him anymore.
Even his APM candidate is an Ajimobi boy. Oriyomi on the ballot will make the election so easy for APC

Seyi Makinde is a heartless, disloyal, unrepentant con man. Virtually all those who contributed to his emergence as the 2019 pre-governorship election alliance have been silenced, caged, betrayed or repaid with evil.

He had successfully used Arapaja and having seen how Seyi treated other loyalists, used and dumped them, Arapaja has decided to part ways with him before it is too late.

He hid under the cover of supporting tinubu and his major opponent adelabu,the failed power guy was a rookie politician who couldn't play his cards right.....if the APC can be united for 27 makinde and his protege will be beaten black,blue and red......oyo north is already a no go area for him and he isnt in good standing with the traditional institutions in the state which still have alot of influence, same mistake ajimobi made is same thing makinde is doing......its not about the work done,if so ajimobi would have successfully installed his successor even akala wasn't that bad........its about ability to contain the volatility in oyo politics

Nigerian politicians can never be satisfied. After milking GSM for almost 8 years, he's now defecting to APC to continue plying his trade. Lazy politicians everywhere looking for freshly cooked meal.

Hmmmm. I hope you understand Oyo politics. APC is so strong in that state that they won won a senatorial sit and some rep and the presidential election.
He won Oyo because Oyo Apc compromised for him because he supported Tinubu presidency and due to his first term performance. He has done well as a governor, but I don't see him winning the political game ahead. He's a goner
