Nigeria is re-arming at an alarming rate. The Ukrainian-made BTR-94 APCs are a perfect substitution for Toyota 4×4 Hilux vans. The BTR-94AM is an 8×8 amphibious armoured personnel carrier (APC).The BTR-94 armoured personnel carrier was developed in Ukraine in the late 1990s. It is essentially a Soviet BTR-80 APC with some upgrades. Jordan ordered 50 of these APCs in 1997. Deliveries commenced in 2000. However in 2004 Jordan donated all BTR-94s to Iraq, probably because of failures. In the end of January – beginning of February the Nigerian Army welcomed three T-72 M1 main battle tanks and other types of armoured vehicles (BMPs) and anti-tank complexes to fight Boko Haram. It should be noted that the IGIRIGI Armoured Personnel Carrier made by the Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (NAEME) supposedly also used in the battle against terrorists in the North East. http://www.naij.com/391026-nigerian-army-have-inducted-the-btr-94.html 5 Likes

The one that interest me most is our dear IGIRIGI "ogu". The pride of a nation lies on her technology. It also shows the level of utilization of her human (brains) and material resources and deposits. Igirigi ogu - a Biafran name! 4 Likes |

How many of this type of equipment did Buhari,Abacha,IBB,Obj buy for d army? Isn't it obvious that if all our past rulers had been upgrading our weaponry all d while,d issue of BH being better armed than Nigerian army wouldn't have come up? Yet,some marrafakas will continue blaming GEJ for everythin, including when they r unable to impregnate their wives. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Firstly, OP it will suffice you to change that BTR-94 to BTR- 80. Since the West had turn a blind eye to our cause, we have decided to make sure we cant kowtow to any one anylonger-- reason why we look EAST. From Russia to China(God bless these two countries most), from Ukraine to Czech Republic etc, they have not left us naked. They supply us the needed armaments -- from Tanks to IFVs, to AFVs, to Attack Helios, to UCAVs, to LAVs, to MRLs and "unseen" armaments still on the horizon. With all these equipments, we are positioning ourself back as the "most combat-proven military in Africa", a record we once held. #GodBlessGEJ #GodBlessNigerianMilitary #GodBlessOurREALallies #VictoryForNigeria |

nnachukz:He met astonishing unbelievable short and medium term loans and paid up without devaluing the naira. Great support to local manufacturing in two years which was discontinued by the IBB regime - talk to PZ, UAC, Flour mills, Dangote, Honeywell, Cadburys, Nestle and so in. If not for Buhari those companies would have gone under in the 80s and they won't be on the stock exchange now The armed forces were equipped and trained. There were three major military exercises witnessed by Idiagbon Corruption was eliminated, not reduced, eliminated. The western world was stood up to. No paying of fake loans, we will honour medium term loans but we will not devalue our currency and we were doing it. Drug smuggling and financial crimes were zero. Naira was 1N to $1 throughout a period oil prices were low. Refineries were working at 80% capacity. The power sector had a plan and average blackout rate was less that 3 hours a day....but NEPA had a development plan The railways were so developed they were taking refined products from refineries to the markets before PPMC built the pipelines to carry refined products. All the river basin development authorities were working. The external affairs minister during a previous regime Muhammed even suggested that Nigeria develop atomic bombs. Such was the power and vision the country had It is only the uneducated below-forty generation in Nigeria who dont read anymore but would rather do facebook that does nit realize that Nigeria was better in all indices in the 80s. All because they are showing you trains and airport buildings. All the problem with Nigeria started with IBB after they overthrew Buhari, IBN messed up and was almost overthrown and had to hand over to Abacha whilst pretending to be handing over to Shonekan. People like Jonathan would not even know much about what was happening because he was essentially a village youth just moved to the city then after his first degree. Not very exposed to the larger happenings in society |
