Ojagun:Those 'Black guys' are the best around and are plying their trade in top European leagues. What kind of weird analysis is this? Why are American conservatives trying to apply culture war narratives to football? This makes no sense at all. |

Joebie:Expanded but with so many mediocre teams that couldn't have been there. That's why so many African teams made it to R32 by finishing 3rd. |

Unpopular opinion: Senegal proved a bigger threat against France than Morocco Maybe it's because it was the first game oo but in my opinion, the Senegalese played better against France than Morocco did |

Blueelf:I hold the same opinion. France has barely left first gear in any match at this WC but against Senegal, which seems to me the only game so far that ruffled them a little. |

Since the second half against Senegal the French have been on another level. But you're all correct only the Senegalese have caused them some measure of discomfort. Odunayaw: |

According to Turkish outlet Fotomaç, Osayi-Samuel has emerged as a surprise target for Fenerbahçe, with the player eager to return to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium. The report claims that the former Queens Park Rangers man has already held talks with Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal regarding a possible return to Istanbul. Other reports in Turkiye further stated that Osayi-Samuel is “desperate” to leave Birmingham City and rejoin his former club, where he enjoyed some of the best years of his career. However, while the player's desire to return is understood, Fenerbahce's hierarchy and coaching staff are yet to make a final decision over whether to proceed with the move. The development represents a significant shift in Osayi-Samuel's future, especially after his proposed move to Besiktas reportedly collapsed at the final stages last season. |

Watching modern football and the emphasis on positional play, I see why passing dominates the game and why number 10s have vanished. This change has affected Brazil in a huge way because Brazil relies on free flowing samba with a number 10 in the mould of Ronaldinho dictating play. According to one poster on X, Pep Gaurdiola killed Brazilian football. Before Pep, the 10 with his dazzling runs and dribbling, defined the game. Now na who 10 wan dribble? As he's approaching with the ball, the opposition team don't come out and try to snag the ball off him. No, instead they retreat and form a low block closing down space and forcing him and his team mates to find a way through by passing the ball. This accounts for the side to side passing that so much predominates modern football and I hate that shyte. It's going to be a long night for Brazil. Someone suggested that for Brazil to win again, they have to invent an anti-Pep style of play which will emphasize the uniqueness of Brazilian football. It's an interesting analysis . https://x.com/i/status/2074482598995190041 |

Mujtahida:I don't understand this idea of the no 10 not being relevant. I don't even believe it for a second. Ok I'm modern football everyone gets defensive so how do you now break down a low block The passing game is too predictable and easy to play against. A number 10 is needed to show some surprise. I don't get this no no 10 thinking. At least Kevin de bruyne is a mo 10 |
