🦸 | It's just what he does

Mikel Merino has now scored three goals for Spain at major tournaments:

⚽️ 119th-minute winner v Germany (EURO 2024 QF)
⚽️ 91st-minute winner v Portugal (2026 World Cup R16)
⚽️ 88th-minute winner v Belgium (2026 World Cup QF) 🆕

He has only played 66 minutes of football in those three matches combined. 🤯

🇳🇬 Nigeria could field an all-Premier League back four this season:

▪️Calvin Bassey
▪️Semi Ajayi

Colombia are one of the biggest disappointments in this World Cup, they could have legitimately beaten Argentina and have a fighting chance to reach the final.
When Sanchez came to take the PK I knew it was over

I hear that Akor Adams has joined Venezia. I am really disappointed in this move, but I will never fault a man for chasing a living. Sometimes I really feel some of these Nigerian players cannot just see beyond their noses. Akor Adams will struggle to score for this team because Venezia will be just like another poor newly promoted Serie A side that will struggle to score all season. I don't really know what is happening behind the scenes in Sevilla, but you see, this move doesn't make sense at all. I wish the lad all success but am highly disappointed in this move because I rate Akor Adams. I like what he brings to the game for the Super Eagles. A completely effective team player for the Super Eagles.
He can still move to another bigger Serie A club within 2 years.

your mate done reach world cup quarter finals even during that period.

minfelix:
So in your book when person reach Semifinal and lost na to enter flight dey go back home? no b to wait for Third place match?🤣🤣
If na so your book be, it means Nigeria also played Semifinal in 94 and 98, cos word cup use to have 13teams before they expanded in mid/late 90’s

if we use that logic we can make so many conclusions. football no be maths. look at your achievement across the board. no use only one match take appease urself

Semi Finals, now quarter finals. you still dey struggle for second round.. it would have been bad for us this time. e good say we no go disgrace ourself

SymphonyRad:
Story for the gods, nobody gives a fucck about those expanded world cup technicalities my guy. What football facts will have on record is that Morocco got to the QF (fair play to them) but they got slapped around by France and got dumped out with no shots on target till minute 86. Senegal gave France a far better game, even teams like Cape Verde and Ivory Coast would have given France a better fight. You can suck off Morocco for all you want but with all their recent successes, they will still need some more decades to catch up to Nigeria's continental and global impact in football despite our administrative woes that have stunted our football lately.

So yeah, I daresay there's no world where Morocco is MILES ahead of Naija, granted they have a more successful world cup record than us lately no doubt, but that is only where they have surpassed us in football...making world cup semi-finals and Quarter-finals are mad impressive for an African side, but at the end what separates you from the big boys are those trophies in your national cabinet and not your world cup moral victory stories.

Morocco played like they were title contenders. But France (my main sub saharan African connection) were too much for them

Terrible move..
The only good thing I can see here is, he will probably earn more wages..

He will need to take SE games even more seriously to get any chance of leaving Venezia to a better club

Good move for Akor or not?
Very bad move o
All this relegation teams don't have money to get quality players he'll just join the other bellow average players and he might problem join them in bellow average performances

His only chance of getting a better move now is playing well in the super eagles (afcon)
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by UncleHaba22: 7:19am On Jul 11
Abeg what is Fransisca Ordega still doing in the Falcon squad in 2026huh

I am now believing she's been favoured

allegedly She had only 1 goal and 2assist in Saudi for the whole of last season

A Nigerian league player would've been better

For over 4-5 years now Ordega has been bellow par for the super falcons

Abi Big God dey glass House??

Played like which title contenders with one shot on target in the whole match that only came in the 86th minute?

I never said I was happy and content we lost to them. Even that loss was down to the lottery of penalties. You're the one claiming the Moroccans are some magnificent team way beyond other African contenders when I can't see any evidence to suggest why.

The Moroccans sef you're hyping in the cold light of objective analyses what did they actually do? Drew with one of the poorest Brazilians teams in recent years, Beat an above average Netherlands on penalties, and get outclassed by France that Senegal went toe to toe with.

So I should quake in my pants because they defeated world super powers Scotland, Haiti, Canada? Really?

Nigeria should do better but use a more appropriate example for comparison not a country relying on board room antics to win an undeserved title.

Akor fall my hand too. If he was desperate to leave Sevilla I believe his qualities could have attracted a midtable team in any of the top 5 European leeagues not relegation cannon fodder in the Serie A!

Wish him all the best anyway.

Would it still be terrible move if another better serie A club like Atalanta,Lazio,Roma or Inter sign him from Venezia?

Akor was one of the reasons why Sevilla survived relegation,
who is to say he wouldn't put up a better performance for other serie a clubs to notice.

@Supernerd and PDPGuy look out for this exceptional teenager Miracle Ezechukwu.

Heard she has a PB of 11.15 in the 100m incredible for her age.

Potential to be our next track queen.

Great that she's also going to the Commonwealth Games.
