The Swiss have really stayed disciplined and organised at the back. And when they get forward, they just shoot on sight.... albeit their two efforts have been wide offtarget.

First half of ET ends. Still 1-1.

Incredible to see how strong the Swiss have stood. Like JohnBullMySon rightly called it beforehand, the Swiss have masterfully executed their organisational ability to limit chances of oppositions. Even at things stand, the Argentines still have less shots on targets than the Swiss.

Jose Lopez of Palmeiras IN. Paredes OUT.

Another attacker thrown in by Scaloni. 4-5 attackers on field now for Argentina.

Of what use is bringing on another striker if the midfielders and wingers won't cross the ball

Alvarez has scored his usual screamer. I just knew he would finish one of these goalkeepers with his wicked shots grin

Julian Alvarez has been quite unlucky in front of goal at this WC but he has produced a World Class Finish to send the World Champions into the Semis.

We have 2 Semifinal Classics coming up.

France vs Spain
England vs Argentina

The top 4 teams in the FIFA World Rankings be it in Live format or pre tournament listing are in the Semi finals.

4 of my Top 5 favs in the Semi finals. Grand.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Odunayaw(m): 4:49am On Jul 12
Scaloni should know his starting 11 from this game.

Fairytale final for me is either;
FRA - ARG. Mbappe wins it again and becomes a legend in his own right.
SPA - ARG. Kamal becomes ushers the new generation.
Or Messi just wins the damn thing again and Ronaldo fans cause another flood with tears.

FRA - ENG would have been great for Kane cements his legacy but bruh we don't want noise pollution from the Brits.

Naaaa no Dr Strange moment. Embolo just suffered Schizoid Embolism. grin grin Silly boy grin

TheSuperNerd:
Oh wait... let me even indulge this... Did Embolo meet Dr. Strange? Is this the only way they can beat the World Champions? Final result go tell.

Vargas and Okafor had to sit on the bench for this foolishness to happen. Embolo is so so silly.
It's very annoying that Embolo has probably set himself up for racial abuse with that infantile display.

Not even a dive for a free kick in a dangerous place o. Dirty boy.

Your analysis was still spot on. With 11 men, it was evident how on point you were and it also showed with 10men for a good period. The red card which was well deserved, really gave Argentina a way back into the lead. The Swiss did themselves. Argentina win deserved.

The Albiceleste of Argentina showed World Champions Character in overcoming a really stubborn Swiss side reduced to 10men no thanks to Embolo's moment of hollywood foolishness😂 Messi and his World Champions have set up a super classic date with a team historically associated with Maradona's Best Moment of the 1986 WC. Argentina's quest for back to back titles clashes heavily with England's quest to fulfill the dreams of "It's coming home" chants. The Final 4 is complete. No hiding places, no second chances, no time for excuses... You show up or you miss out on your date with destiny in the final.

🔰Now, 4 out of my 12 Favorites/Darkhorses/Outside force selections are still in. 8 are OUT.
7 of the 8 OUT got booted out by 4 of the 4 still in the competition.

TheSuperNerd:
The Three Lions of England navigate an intense affair vs The Norwegian Vikings thanks to the Brilliant Brace of Jude Bellingham. Erling Haaland got caged by the Country he plies his club trade in. The "It's coming home" chants shall ring across London and other English cities now despite a potential clash vs Messi and co (only if they survive the Swiss). The Final 4 will be complete tomorrow and England shall know who stands between them and destiny.

Yeah…. The goal had to be a masterclass that flew over the whole defense. Alvarez goal was just a stunner.

At this point my hate watch of Argentina has failed lol. Even if they lost to England, getting to the semis is already a good run.

Erling Haaland got caged by the English Knights of Defence (Stones x Guehi) but that gap between his last International blank and the current one is insane.

keep trading AFCON blows. when an African country wins the WC and it's not Naija, you come up with another narrative like Afrobeats etc

What matters is the titles,
Morocco is yet to win anything at the world cup,we are more or less the same at the world stage.
But on the continent, they are far behind.

Are you God who knows the future. Who told you Nigeria cannot be the African country that will win the world cup.
Talents at home and in diaspora are being discovered Everytime. With good coaching all will come together. Relax. I don't want to mention they are many. Femi azewz chrisantus uche, Emmanuel frnandez, ebenizer akinsanmiro etc. we just need a good coach to figure out how to blend things.
