Ikwechegh Hails Tinubu, Makinde, Over Rescue Of Abducted Oyo Pupils by Kosiso12(op): 4:35pm On Jul 11
Hon Alex Mascot Hails Tinubu, Makinde, Security Chiefs, over rescue of abducted Oyo pupils.

The lawmaker representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, has applauded President Bola Tinubu, Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, Governor Seyi Makinde and Nigeria's security agencies for securing the release of pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State after more than 50 days in captivity.

Ikwechegh described the successful rescue as a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration, intelligence sharing and a coordinated security response. He commended the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government and security operatives for working together to bring the victims home safely. The operation freed 39 schoolchildren and six teachers, while authorities also announced the arrest of suspected kidnappers.

The federal lawmaker said the development has renewed hope among Nigerians, noting that responsive leadership and decisive action remain critical to addressing the country's security challenges. He also sympathised with the families affected by the tragic loss of a teacher during the ordeal.

“The safe return of these innocent children and their teachers is a victory for the nation. I commend President Bola Tinubu, Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, Governor Seyi Makinde and our security agencies for listening to the cries of Nigerians and working together to achieve this outcome. This gives our people renewed hope that, through unity and commitment, better days are ahead,” Ikwechegh said.

Misplaced priority
Hailing someone for something that wasn't supposed to happen in the first place...
So are you hailing him that the victims suffered but didn't die??

In a country where things are done right this guy is not supposed to still be in government for physically assaulting a person who went to seek payment for service rendered to him

Hail? Lol.. let them hail him very loudly. 50+ days in their den requires them to hail him! For what exactly? Will that teacher ever feel comfortable teaching in a class? A profession she willing enrolled in, they were kidnapped and probably abused, released after 50 days plus and you hail the government? Lol this sheets disappointing

Hailing him for perpetrating yet another fraud against Nigerians?

All of the supposed kidnapped victims look like they were well fed and not like people who endured 59 days in the forest. Their captors must have been benevolent. Even the wailing woman in the videos looks like her hair did not fray at all during that time, and her clothes look like they were washed recently in many of the videos. undecided

Add to that the changing tales around the supposed rescue. Na nollywood movie, all of that nonsense resembles! undecided

He is not supposed to be governor or he is supposed to call for serious investigation to discover how the kidnappers were able to "evade" authorities for 59 days, while none of them were caught, killed or found when the victims were supposedly rescued? undecided

Yes, this supposed rescue tale has so many holes than answers in it. 40 women and children were held captives for 2 months in the woods, yet they all returned home with not a single one of them emaciated and not even their clothes worn or torn. Questions abound! undecided

The man should even attempt to drag himself into that fake Nollywood drama that was directed by the APC against the Nigerian people and probably the people in Oyo. Make una check well, that wailing woman in the kidnap videos is likely also an APC voter. undecided

This is the woman from the 27th of May. See how she did not look emaciated then, after supposedly 13 or 30 days under captivity. Her clothes do not look like anything that has been on a human for the past 1 day, let alone 13, or did she say 30 days in the woods? Her hair does not look disheveled from the rough treatment she wanted us to believe she and the others had been subjected to. 😒😒😒

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7l3WUv19ok?si=vgNkYqFYoREmWYNC
The video of the rescue shows the woman looking exactly like she did in the previous movie. Not a single sign that she was signed or tortured anywhere on her face; her hair looks like it was recently remade. Her hands, her neck, her face... no sucken surface in sight. And the kids...wow... those kids wearing head coverings, maintained their whites even in the forest? Are we being serious here? All of those kids look healthy ... not a single skin and bones as we would expect. 😒😒😒

Don't get me started on the tales regarding the kidnappers. We are told that 8 people were captured, while several others were neutralized. Yet, to date, not a single image of at least those neutralized has been released. 😒😒😒

Overall, it is a terrible Nollywood movie that your government attempted here. Despicable! 😒😒

This wasn't scripted at all and your post is totally off and insults the sensibilities! The hostages (young and middle aged) were taken right right from their communities into the more thickly forested Oyo National Park.

Hostage situations around the world such as this take time to resolve otherwise all the hostages would have been killed. Hostage negotiations are doable but it's NOT an easy thing to do.
The Americans and Israelis who have rock-solid advanced weapons and rescue strategies will tell you rescue operations don't come easy. Period.
