Wonders shall never end! The same Cardoso that Obidients were calling Oluwole certified is now been commended by their Messiah. Wow! I imagine how they would have misled us if we had listened to them? This shows that Tinubus decisions were right all along. Now, Obi has no option than to commend CBN because all international institutions eg World Bank, IMF, Fitch Ratings, are rating CBN high. Tinubu once called shaky shaky daddy is now the one shaking their Messiah. May we not be misled by Nigerias Internal Saboteurs! 2027 is a goal for Tinubu!

One thing about leaders like Peter Obi, OBJ and co is, they recognize competence and use these people.

They don’t hire people whom they’ll be telling what to do, and get sycophancy in response, like the crop of leaders Nigeria has had since 2015
Are you talking about this naive Obi or there is another one that you are talking about here huh

NLCreator:
Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.

There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.

Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.

The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.

While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.

“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.

“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.

“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”

Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.

Anambra distributes 177 vehicles to traditional rulers

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, on Monday in Awka, distributed one SUV each to the traditional rulers of the 177 communities in the state.

Obi handed over one of the vehicles’ key to the state Chairman of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha.

He said that the gesture was aimed at helping them run and build better communities, adding that the vehicles would also help the traditional rulers to function effectively.

“If you have better communities, you will have a better Anambra, Anambra today is changing for better and I want this sustained,” the governor said.

“In doing that, the state government and the local government will do what it can to support the building of a better Anambra.”

Achebe said that he was overjoyed because the governor cared about the well-being and welfare of the traditional rulers.

“It is completely unprecedented in Anambra and probably elsewhere in Nigeria,” he said.

“It is a mighty gesture from the governor and for the government of the state to make a distinct impact on the well-being of the traditional rulers in the state.”

According to him, it was one of the several measures the present administration in the state had taken to improve the wellbeing of the traditional rulers.

“We pray that God will give us a successor that will continue from where Obi has left and lift Anambra to the next level.”

But he is, to have held the position of the chairman of fidelity bank is not a small fit, you must be smart in finance
and yet he didn't use that smartness to reduce poverty rate as governor, but rather used it to increase poverty rate as governor of small anambra state

The naira has been relatively stable, agreed.

But that stability can be likened to being stable in death.

Meanwhile, the Tinubu administration has been looting the treasury, creating questionable and fake agencies, and inserting them into the national budget to facilitate further looting.
Did Tinubu promise to stabilise the Naira, or he promised to make it N300/$1 in the short term?

Has the master strategist failed to deliver on his promise because of the looting you mentioned above?

Did his 2011 expired Buhari also fail in this regard because of his own looting huh

socialmediaman:
The 2018 Rating by Transparency International placed Nigeria at 148th position out of 180 countries. Nigeria was improving over the years under the previous government, until Buhari got elected as president, things became worse.

There is a difference between fact and fiction. We need to face facts, Buhari is worse than GEJ when it comes to fighting corruption, at least that’s what the facts prove.

Most of us believed there was corruption under Goodluck Jonathan’s Government. I agree with those who did, there was corruption, but not as bad as it is today under Mohammadu Buhari.

In 2012, Nigeria was placed at 139th position, In 2014, Nigeria gained 3 steps and was placed at 136th position. Under Buhari, Nigeria has lost many positions down to 148th.

There’s no further proof needed that corruption has worsened under Buhari’s government compared to previous years.

Haaaaaaa Yarimo no go kee person.

He praised Cardoso to safe face for many blunders he made in the past one month.

1. That the government should negotiate with bandits
2. That government should release MNK
3.That the president didn't call Governor Makinde.
4. That the government is after his businesses, life and that of his supporters

Obi simply didn't have good adviser and there are no body that manages his speeches.

He just chose to be brutal and raw with his choice of words and subject he comments on. Playing Trump type of opposition in Nigeria is Obi greatest demarketing strategy as he has no organized media machinery to push his narratives. He only rely on Obidients who are quack and lack emotional intelligence to project his intentions. Looking at Twitter, FB and Nairaland will confirm my statement that Obidients are the evil fashioned against Obi's progress with their aggressive, illogical, insulting and bigoted views they push on SM

Please can you tell us which competent hand Peter Obi ever recognised and used.

If there is any Nigerian with bad leadership skill, it’s Peter Obi. Where are all the commissioners and LG caretakers he had and chairmen he appointed just a year before leaving as Governor? How many of them are still with him and campaigning for him?
erumena:
Who has Obi mentored in government? Kindly name them.
Meet Professor Stella Okunna, Nigeria’s first female Professor of Mass Communication who served prominent roles under Peter Obi including commissioner of information & culture, commissioner for economic planning & budget, and chief of staff.

After working with Peter Obi, she went back to her job being a professor and author, as every political appointee should.

You can’t use the wrong, failed system/template to determine a good leader.

Go to the U.S., UK, and other developed countries.

The equivalent of commissioners and LG chairmen in those countries do their jobs and go back into the system as regular citizens. They don’t become billionaires from government office like their Nigerian counterparts.

After Okonjo Iweala served as Nigerian minister, she went back to WB, that’s how public office job is supposed to be.

Monetary and fiscal are taking instructions from same President.
The monetary guys don't take instructions from the drug baron. They are independent. And the president can not just wake and sack the cbn governor like the ministry of finance who is handles the fiscal policy. The cbn guys votes to decide monetary policies as board members

You get the point.....if he was good running the finance of a government, he wouldn't have plugged Anambra into poverty. The poverty in Anambra was at 25.8 % when became a governor, but let the state in 53.4% poverty rate by the time he left. The guy has nothing in his head than lies and fake stat.

Obi doesn’t run Godfatherism, yet he appointed and imposed his successor on the party.
Obi doesn’t run fatherism, but he could dictate to his successor and requested some money which lead to their fight and parting.

The CBN governor is gradually waking up...I guess there is a new Finance Minister and possibly both of them working together for the good of Nigeria's economy and financial space.

More synergy between the two of them please so that exchange rate will be better ( Naira being stronger) and inflation will come down generally in different sectors: Food/ agriculture, transportation ( intra city and *inter city transportation), power sector ( more affordable portable electric meters) etc.

Really?

I served in Anambra state while he just left and Obiano was trying out his legacy international airport project. I know better first hand than this your write up. Where I served I take speed boat for like 2hrs before arriving. The level of amenities (in the secondary school) there and safety measures is standard any where in the world: by the way this was done by Mr. Obi. And the state had enough reserves to pay corp members I think second highest to Lagos State.

I'm speaking to the leadership skill you mentioned as per relationship retention I don't know Obi that much to question your assertions.

I respect Obi for this acknowledged position.

Mr. Oluyemi Cardoso & Jumoke Oduwole are the only genuine Public officers who are effective with the love of country at heart.

The Bloomberg Matching index dashboard acquired by the CBN to bring the FX position of the entire country on a screen (both Bid rates and Offer rates) automatically removes arbitrage and brings forth the real value of the currency.
Nigerians and Nigerian opposition can be funny. They can condemn the best. When Cardoso was appointed the opposition condemned him. Some said that he isn't an economist therefore that he wouldn't do well.

Some of us that knew Yemi at close range from his days at Citibank to Citizens Bank fought them. Yemi is not top-notch when it comes to brilliance but he's a hard worker, can allow people around him to express their brilliance and he's a good man-manager. He has large pool of quality friends in finance and economics that he can draw from. Luckily for him he has a president that allows him to do his job. I see CBN under him doing better and better.
