Nigerian notion of fatherhood is founded on sperm contribution. Adoption is still considered generally foreign in that country. If a change should happen, it should be a reeducating of people in what fatherhood is, not the banning of DNA tests and stuff like that.

While it is true that biology is not the sole criteria for fatherhood, there are other reasons why DNA testing is good.

Banning it because of fatherhood drama is shortsighted.

How it used to be when? Nigeria has almost always had the still current idea that only the sperm donors can be considered fathers.

Again, limiting people's freedoms to decide for themselves how to live their own lives is a bad way to go. Fatherhood should be a choice, not a mandate.
