Please I have to respond to this, No the USA has not lifted the ban and anyone who goes for a Visa(Without having prior visa) gets banned. |

TaxLawyer:Nigeria is on partial ban not full ban...its means more vetting and its on case by case... if Nigeria is on full ban not visa will be issued Even carter efe ...just hot his USA viza to streamer university on F1 visa type... i am just saying its case by case vetting since nigeris on partial ban. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by TaxLawyer: 2:09pm On Jul 13 |
Ekenem123:. That is simply not true please. Carter efe didnt get any visa. You must be PHD cloakroom, that was deceiving people here.

TaxLawyer:How did i deceive people? Or you re deceiving yourself ? Someone else is telling you the truth but you are still adamant to your delusion. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by PhdCloakRoom(m): 2:49pm On Jul 13 |
TaxLawyer:See where you are contradicting yourself? Anyone who goes for visa without having prior visa so is that person with prior visa not a Nigerian? Why did they give him or her as a Nigerian? Silent is the best answer I think. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Taal17: 3:12pm On Jul 13 |
Ekenem123:There is an existing BAN for students with Nigerian passports living any country, it doesn't matter whether you're fully funded. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Taal17: 3:17pm On Jul 13 |
Ekenem123:Stop spewing incomplete information. The only reason it is a partial ban is because it affects only F,M,B and J non immigrant visas as well as Immigrant visas. There are many other visas it does not affect, O, L, C,,K visas for example |

Did any one book USA visa appointment on AVITs portal? Once i get to the point where i need to select "post" it wont give any options and i am not able to progress |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by TaxLawyer: 5:26pm On Jul 13 |
PhdCloakRoom:You talk like someone who needs psychiatric evaluative help. pRIOR visa simply means, you have a B2 vISA BEFORE, then it gets expired, you can apply for renewal, also if you have Prior H1B Visa before the proclamation of the ban, and it recently expired, you can get it renewed. but for people who have never had a prior visa, no new B1/B2 Visas are being granted. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by PhdCloakRoom(m): 9:45pm On Jul 13 |
TaxLawyer:What you attached is for immigrant visa which is now placed on total ban. This is F1 thread.

Any advice on what to do about existing F1 appointment amidst the current ban? I do not plan on wasting my time to attend the interview. What other option are there? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by TaxLawyer: 10:10am On Jul 16 |
Ekenem123:i just wanted to quote this to tell you, that you are lying too much, and people must not give credence to whatever you say. Carter Efe confirmed his visa was denied. there is a Ban. Please. |

The Trump administration has given final notice of plans to implement stricter rules on foreign students, including preventing them from staying in the US for more than four years unless they get permission from the federal government. The ability to switch programmes and transfer between universities and colleges will also be restricted. Until now, higher education institutions had the power to grant visa extensions. The policy, which comes into effect in September, "combats rampant visa abuse, and strengthens national security through regular vetting", the Department of Homeland Security said. The Association of International Educators described the new rules as "misguided and unnecessary". Before now, foreign students on F-1 visas and J-1 exchange visas were admitted to the US under "duration of status", which meant they could remain in the country for as long as it took to finish their degrees. The new rules will put a time limit on that stay. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said: "For decades, foreign students have been admitted into the US indefinitely, allowing thousands to abuse our immigration system by perpetually enrolling in courses to avoid having to leave the US." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czdmp87rpv1o |

TaxLawyer:Anyone applying for F1 visa at the moment certainly has money to waste. You are 100% going to be denied. |

| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by PhdCloakRoom(m): 12:27pm On Jul 17 |
Honeysweetest:If Trump is not impeached he has more than 2 - years remaining to display his various immigration idiosyncrasies 😎 |

Ekenem123:E be like say na that guy wey dey give people false hope here be this again o. Did you see anyone that has got F1 Visa? Carter Efe show you his visa? For avoidance of doubt, everything is on hold for now. If you go there they will talk to you surely but they will not issue you Visa. Even students already in the USA have all their applications on hold till the ban is over, OPT o, CPT, NIW, anything, name it, is not being processed once the passport you are presenting is Nigeria passport. That being said, if you just happen to know anyone that got his F1, J1 visa at this point I would love to know because, hey, I might be wrong and giving wrong information. Thank you for your attention to this matter |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by ijayalolo: 4:54pm On Jul 17 |
PhdCloakRoom:He just introduced a new one again now to take effect from Sept this year. The DS (Duration of Status) they usually give when you enter US on F! Visa which allows you to stay in US for as long as you want (even if na 20 years!) as long as you are in status (student) has now been changed to a fixed date. no more DS. If your program is 2 years then you can't stay more than 2 years, if there is any reason you want to extend you will have to go through not only your school ISSS (as it is presently), you will have to go through USCIS as well (and you know what that means?) Thank you for your attention to this matter |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Taal17: 6:29pm On Jul 17 |
ijayalolo:Actually for students in the USA, they were under a PAUSE, fortunately a court has made a judgement in June that USCIS has to stop this so students and others adjusting status within the US their applications have resumed pending if USCIS appeals. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by ijayalolo: 7:05pm On Jul 17 |
Taal17:Actually to clarify, the judgement specifically said it affects only the 3 individuals that approached the court about this case and it is not encompassing for now. It is only when that judgement might have been enforced that a class action can now take place to involve all the universities in the US and it can now affect every individual . But that cannot be done right now because USCIS has appealed the judgement. and it has not yet been heard. Modified I just confirmed that another ruling in June has vacated the earlier one and it is now Nationwide. That's some bit of good news. Though I heard it is being appealed. Thank you for your attention to this matter |
