In truth Tinubu tried in road rehabilitation in the south east. Making a south easterner works minister was purposeful and Umahi is living up to it. That doesn't however mean the people are not hungry.
So where are the roads please?

I really still don't understand why most people worship these politicians, maybe because of the crumbs they're getting or they're naturally just stupid. Just imagine the kind of things we're still excited about in 2026. In as much as we have been practicing kakistocracy for ages now, I think we deserve what we are getting with this kind of posts and the comments that follows. Or do they think they carry out those projects with their personal funds? I don't want to believe people are this ignorant and dull-witted.
But always remember that, if the country was so great, their children and grandchildren will be here with you. But of course, they need people with absolute mediocrity, and that's where the likes come in.

The biggest issue is what the master strategist is doing with all the money from subsidy savings, increased revenue for August targets, and even more borrowing than PDP presidents who gave us 16 years of prosperity, peace and security with cheap petrol, cheap dollars, less inflation, less unemployment etc?

TimeManager:
The Federal Government has revealed that the elimination of the petrol subsidy under President Bola Tinubu has resulted in savings of over $84 billion, which are now being channelled into the construction and rehabilitation of 40 key road projects across the country over the past two years.

This was disclosed in a policy brief released by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), titled “Two Years Later: Key Benefits of Subsidy Removal,” and made available to journalists over the weekend in Abuja.

The report, which reviewed the outcomes of the subsidy removal since May 29, 2023, noted that the policy averted a looming economic crisis.

It also enabled the Tinubu administration to clear long-standing financial liabilities, increase capital investments, and support the financial stability of state governments.

Do you think that the master strategist of Nigerian politics is just stealing money to bribe politicians into Oshiomhole’s Assembly of Past Criminals, APC and buy votes from deliberately impoverished extreme poverty paupers who are also poorly educated and barely employable huh

NaijaRoyalty:
…Says Buhari doesn’t have my kind of money

However, Buhari doesn’t have the kind of money I can steal neither does he have the money I can collect. He doesn’t even have the money for Lagos votes. So, whatever I promise, it’s for real and is coming from my pocket. It’s not until I go to Alausa before I get money to give you.”

Addressing APC supporters on the need to deliver votes, Tinubu said handsome cash rewards await those who can deliver votes for the party.

He said he would not make mistakes of the past where people would collect money in advance and not deliver on election day.

Tinubu added, “Those of you that say you come to Bourdillon for mobilisation, it is mobilisation that we are doing here or don’t you understand? Definitely, if you know people in your neighbourhood, our members, how we used to do.

They simply snapped a portion of the road....it isn't even near completion....this road has been under construction by successive governments in the last 20 years+

Even before MTN intervention, Fashola under Buhari used Sukuk loan on it...Peter Obi did Upper Iweka and Awka side of it under Jonathan and Anambra State was refunded the money under Obiano regime....

Tinubu is just doing a single lane of the dual lane between Amawbia and Umunya...Buhari has done the other lane...Check this picture or video and you will notice one lane is newer than the other

Come to the south east. You'll see the roads.

Remember I said rehabilitation. I didn't say he built new roads.

That said, I reiterate that president Tinubu has done a lot in rehabilitation of south east roads. The Enugu/Onitsha expressway is a testimony. I'm not a Tinubu supporter by the way.

Can you please open ya mind and let us know why your master strategist has failed to make ordinary water available to Lagos residents after 27 years of increasing tax burden on the people to grow their budget 100 times, thereby setting up a bad example to other states in this basic government utility provision huh

The federal government is not responsible for water supply in cities and towns. This is the responsibility of states.

InvertedHammer:

It is by far better than Enugu.

500 gallons of water go for N20k. Multiply by 4 in a month, that's N80k. By extrapolation, that's N960k in a year on water alone. Why? Because the governor believes that clean and accessible water is the least of his worries. Yet they prance around like Enugu is Abuja even though the red muddy soil will have residents looking like they went tomb-raiding at night.

But then, considering where it was before Peter Mba, one can understand the accolades being that he moved the town from 16th Century to 17th Century but not anywhere near 20th Century. 21st Century is a stretch. EEDC? The worst of all.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mahmood Adegbite, has said that people drilling borehole in the Lekki axis of the state is probably drinking ‘’shit water.”

While speaking at a stakeholders meeting in the state recently, Adegbite noted that contaminated boreholes in Lekki pose health risk and added that treatment of waste water would eradicate any form of disease that may arise from it.

He said, “On waste water treatment, I will say that everyone digging borehole within the Lekki axis is probably drinking what I will call ‘shit water.’

The Tax credit in road construction is simply govt not collecting the amount of tax MTN owes the govt directly, but asking them to pay it to the contractor.

If a man owes me money and i ask he use that debt he owes me to pay directly a car dealer i just financed a car with, then it means the debtor bought my car?. what a weak logic from a comment above.

So Mr vitalis who should we give credit to? We should give credit to? buhari that kick start the initiative or to tinubu that brought buhari to power?
Or we should thank mtn for building our road because of it’s charity?
Or we should give credit to tinubu government that maintained continuity of the project?

Where is the billboard proclaiming it is an MTN driven project?

If MTN tax credits that, at first instance, should have been paid into Nigeria coffers, is now being used to construct road in the SE, it is still Nigeria money that is being used for the construction, and not MTN's. Since the money were contributed to MTN by Nigerian overcharged subscribers.

Was Jakande a water spirit when he added so many litres of water to the state’s supply and increased coverage to more parts of the state huh

Do you know how many times the UPN progressive governor increased tax burden on people to grow the budget by how many times?

Splashme:
The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”
