Good day everyone. Please I need your help @all.

1. Is there anyone here resuming at Seneca September 2026? Does Seneca require IELTS for PGD?

2. I've been offered admission and ask to pay tuition deposit latest August 1st, is that still in order considering I am yet to begin other process.

3. Lastly, does Canada allow brother for POF?

Thank you.

Paying tuition deposit is one of the conditions in your offer letter and that condition must be met before you are given unconditional offer. So you must pay. But before you pay, mail the school and ask if the money is refundable in case the study permit is refused.

My own school gave me 31st March, 2026 as deadline.

What do you mean by 'other process'? I paid mine before applying for study permit because I needed that 'unconditional offer letter' to apply for study permit.

Thanks for your response, other process like the POF process, all documents that will be required. Do you have any guide on how to calculate how much is needed for POF? And the official website used for currency conversion by Canada immigration Office? For the refundable part, in the conditional offer given, it's stated that 2000CAD of the 10kCAD of the part tuition is unrefundable.

During my time of application, my school said if my study permit is refused they will refund my tuition deposit. The only money the won't refund was the 125CAD application fee.

For POF you must show ATLEAST your one year tuition fee. If the program is more than 1yr, show how you intend to pay for the following years without having to work in Canada.
You must show you have at least $22,895CAD to cover your living expenses for one year. If your program is more than one year you demonstrate how you tend to survive for the coming years without having to work in Canada.

In my own case I used OANDA Currency Converter and my study permit was approved. It was not specified which converter to be used.

My program is two years. I showed POF for the two years tuition fees and living expenses for the two years. So there wasn't any need for me to convince them on how I intend to pay for the rest of the year. Then, after paying for the tuition deposit, I paid for one year tuition. I could have just applied for study permit with just the tuition deposit but ChatGPT advised I pay one year tuition and that was what I did.

The receipts for the tuition deposit and one year tuition fee I attached them to my POF.

Hello everyone,

Please, is it possible for an undergraduate student going for 2 years diploma to get approved for study permit? Specifically for skilled trade courses? I will appreciate it if anyone can reply me.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by legendbarak: 5:27pm
Thanks, please how much was your tuition deposit?

I applied for Seneca College for the September intake, the required tuition deposit is $9,975.02 which am to pay before August 1st 2026.

My first year fee is $18,956.61(This is estimated for Two semesters)
Please do you know the amount for the second year two fee?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by legendbarak:
Hello House….

Is there anyone in SENECA college…
I applied and I have been given admission.

My program is going to run for two years which I will be responsible of paying 3 semester myself.

Please what’s the probability of getting a job and being able to save up to $20,000 CAD within a year?

Lastly, my tuition deposit must be received by August 1st.
If I make the payment now for the tuition deposit, whats the chances of my Visa application, and will I be given student permit?
I’m thinking of deferring the admission till January, but if I should do that and make the tuition deposit, will the tuition deposit be intact or there will be deduction from the tuition deposit.
Thanks

it is always best for your bank funds and assets to show upfront to the Canadian embassy how you will fund your tuition and living expenses over 2 years. does your school program include co-op (work placement)? if not, its unlikely they may give your a study permit with work permission. then again, i may be wrong. dont rely on working to fund your fees and stay.

Guaranteed Investment Certificate GCI https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html

is an option some people use to show IRCC that the money they have is genuinely set aside for their studies. They open a GIC with a Canadian bank and deposit funds for their tuition, living expenses, or both.....

you already paying 10 million to your school is a good sign....

GIC does not guarantee visa approval. IRCC still assesses your application as a whole but it shows the money you have is available for study

Yes, you are on the right track. Having 45 million available as your Proof of Funds, after already paying 10 million toward your tuition, as long as you clearly explain the source of the funds and meet all other IRCC requirements....
Thank you so much. I appreciate I will come back here for Testimony.

Please in my OFFER LETTER I saw Co work-optional. Does it mean I can't work while in school?😂

I choose course with PGWP.

My tuition deposit was $2000CAD and it's inclusive in the first year tuition fee.

Two semesters (terms) make up one academic year. If you are asked to pay $9,975.02 as deposit fee, confirm from them if it's refundable before you pay o.

For my program, tuition fee is not a flat rate it's based on the number of courses I register. The more courses I register the more fees I pay.

I will answer this question when I arrive in Canada next month. The school is a university in Ontario and my course is tech related.

I choose course with PGWP.
It implies that the Co-op as a course, usually in Year 2 for a 2 year program, is an optional course. Has nothing to do with where you can work as long as the work placement is directly relevant to your program of study.

Quite much, I’ve always thought the tuition deposit ($2000) is a fixed amount for most schools
