Argentina is synonymous with trickery, dark arts, antics, shithousery, I could go on and on.........

Never thought any team would best Paraguay in thuggery and anti-football in this world cup but Argentina took it to another level.

Their display against Spain was an embarrassment and utterly disgraceful.

Mightily pleased with the outcome cos it's a victory for football.

When Messi retires Argentina will be irrelevant and worthless

Lol, why Messi go win am? What did Messi also play in this WC final compared to Rodri? Mbappe on 10 goals and 4 assists is a joke to you abi? Lol... Messi got the Silver ball and rightly so.

@emboldened... only those trained or those keen to observe the game through midfield lenses and not just final ball or chance-creating action or shot-creating action lenses will see what Rodri did.

Rodri deserves the Golden Ball. No midfielder was as commanding from deep as Rodri at this tournament. He orchestrated Spain's plays. The key metronome in their middle game dynamics and disciplined positional possession plays. I know someone may wanna point to Bellingham but he is an AM with licence to bomb forward... he is no orchestrator. England have Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson for that and which partly explains why Rice had more chances created than Bellingham all tournament (17 against Jude's 8 ).

I will quote 2010 WC Winner and Real Madrid Record winning coach, Vicente Del Bosque...

Vicente Del Bosque said this about Busquets..... but these exact same words apply to Rodri.

He said...

“If you watch the game, you don’t see Busquets. But if you watch Busquets, you see the whole game.”

So Rodri was Gold.

Don’t worry, in 6 days time, the CAF WAFCON starts 😁
Omo. With the way NFF have handled their prep I'm just praying for them that they will at least qualify for the Women's World Cup.

If they fail to defend the trophy, I won't be surprised.

South America. Na their way. When it comes to the dark arts they're even worse than North Africans.

Brazil is the only occasionally graceful team from that region I think.

Nigeria have had it difficult against Argentina because of their mercurial number 10s.
Maradona
Ortega
Messi

Let Messi retire from the team so we can have our own pound of flesh from 2030 onward.

TheGoodJoe and I have a great aversion for toxic yama yama, thuggery-like, dirty football. Na why😂

And in truth, Argentina, for all their quality displayed such throughout the competition and kept escaping with zero or few cards no thanks to biased officiating.

Spain beat the frauds like drum.
No single shot in 90mins. In extra time just one off target and one blocked shot. Finito. Very very poor.

Cape Verde had more shots vs Spain and on target than Argentina did in 90mins.

Saudi Arabia had more shots vs Spain and on target than Argentina did in 90mins.

Even France had way more shots vs Spain and on target than Argentina did in 90mins.

Argentina were absolutely exposed and their charade ended emphatically. They had no business making the WC final.

One thing I noticed about Argentina 🇦🇷 throughout this tournament, especially from the Round of 32 to the final, is that they struggled to win games convincingly, often relying on slim margins. Some of those matches could easily have ended in defeat, but somehow the Messi factor kept rescuing them. However, in yesterday’s final, Messi didn’t show up, and no other player stepped up to fill that void, which was a major reason they lost. This is where they really missed Di María. Over the years, Di María has repeatedly stepped up for Argentina, sometimes almost single-handedly turning games in their favour with his brilliance. His absence was definitely felt in the final.

See ehn, that moment made me really ashamed for Messi. In 2022, I was really happy for him winning a World Cup majorly because I personally wont be able to explain enough to my Grandkids why in an era that messi and CR7 dominated for the better part of 16yrs+, that neither of them won a WC. So Messi winning 1 really solved that dilemma.😂

But in 2026, man, shameful... Utterly shameful. That moment is so cringe from messi.

In a nutshell, Angel Di Maria in 2022 was the extra X factor for Argentina.
After he left, Argentina could not replace his player profile properly. There is no winger in Argentina's NT today that comes close to the profile of Di Maria. As he departed, he took his game-changing width football with him. Once Messi also leaves the stage... Argentina will look like they did in the 90s... or maybe worse.

They would still be decent opposition but not elite.
