💯👊

Since the core of our youth team players having been picked from a particular region we haven’t achieved anything tangible in Africa or even made it to the global stage for some time now.

The regions that have provided talents to our cadet teams are the SW,SS and SE and 40%-50% of these players mostly ends up in the super eagles and top leagues in the world

If person talk am em mouf no go bend. As I see the list self my mind comot for the team. They may come back to prove me wrong though this time around
Just as blacks dominate sprint and the NBA in America so SW, SE and SS dominate the pipeline of our football. I don't know why this should be difficult to say. But at the same time make we know say as this demographic dominate in this area of sport na so dem dominate in other not so palatable areas of our national life oo. So that the day that is stated, nobody should accuse whoever states it of tribalism.

But for now we are talking football and what you said is factual. Southerners are more athletic than northerners (excluding the middle belt)

The little believe I had in northern players was killed by Musa Yahaya. I loved him so much, only for him to turn out to be a flash in the pan.

From these players you listed here, only Zadok is the one I rate. All these una Bewene this and Bewene that, I no follow oo. grin
Bewene good. You get old eye na. Watch that boy match against Poland again. Watch how confident, how quick, how lithe he is. If he develops well, I think we got something good in our hands.

Na Zadok I no even trust. I don't like all those kind of players. Dribble to touch line players. Cut and shoot players.

Nottingham came out with a different XI for the 2nd half and Taiwo Awoniyi was among the lads. He just scored Forest's 3rd goal as they lead 3-0.

Anglo Nigerian Midfielder, Chinaza Nwosu also starts the 2nd 45 for Forest.

Messi acted there how every captain acts sha. We see them all grasp at straws to salvage any situation. I mean the Swiss are recent examples. As far as he didn't go haranguing the ref I don't see the big deal.

It's that nonsense with Cucurella that I hated very much. Yet if that's enough to vilify him, let such righteous judge tell us what to do with Maradona grin
What Messi did against Cucurella is on point. Very much on point. It's the rule of the game. He did not cheat. Somebody flouted the rule of the game and Messi only drew the refs attention to it.

Flip it and let it be Messi who covered his mouth while talking to Cucurella and then he's let off the hook - you'd see the paraxoyms of criticisms that would follow.

What we should attack is not Messi but such a stupid rule. The rule is stupid because shit talking is part of any sport.

Second, red card should not be the punishment. A yellow card as warning should be the first resort.

Let me add that one of Africa's greatest striker Gangling Rashidi Yekini was born and groomed in Kaduna he started his football career there too.
Amokachi the Benue born bull also was groomed in Kaduna.

You're correct but these things are not without context. It is the desperation that stinks; taking advantage of the rule for cheap gain.

Yes it is not cheating but there are unwritten gentleman rules even against what is correct. For example in the NBA when the clock is running out, the winning team doesn't go looking to score. No rule against it but gentleman agreement.

I agree the rule is very stupid. A yellow at worst.

At that point anybody can be ungentlemanly oo. In any case, Messi is human too. He's not an angel. If he hadn't acted that way it'd have been a show of large heartedness but since he didn't, it only shows he's not perfect.

Exactly in probably his last game of the WC, he would definitely clutch at straws now.

I will treat this as one of those ignorant posts because Pele definitely did not come up against Carpenters. Again, I pardon the Ignorance.

Messi would not survive that era. Let me drop clips of the 1966 game vs Portugal.
I could have sworn that on this thread you wrote something along the lies of modern day defenders are better than defenders of those days something like the game is more faster and more technical.

Seems I was wrong but then I still believe Messi will do better than Pele in Pele's era due to the above reasons during Pele's time some concepts of football didn't exist mostly defensive concepts for example although some team man mark coordinated high press with tactics like forcing play to one side was almost if not non existent don't even get me started on how they defend set pieces .

Since then defending was mostly Man Marking then Messi will definitely eat up the defenders of Pele's era.

This might convince you Pele's Brazil at it's prime vs this current Messi's Argentina in a world cup final who would win?

Using the tactics of their respective eras .

Then imagine current Spain or 2010 Spain against Pele's Brazil.

Pele himself is godlike that's why he over dominated that era he will also compete in this era

Garincha with half a leg competed Messi definitely dominates.

What can the defenders of that era do that the one's here can't or did not do to Messi.

Maradona isn't. Winning at a younger age isn't a point, neither is "he had more charisma" nor the nostalgia of an emotional country winning a WC after losing the Falkland war to England.

The thing he did with Napoli is the only thing Messi didn't do. But meh, winning Leagues cup with Inter Miami is not small too.
Winning leagues in the MLS with inter Miami is small.

Any team that has Messi instantly becomes a contender.

Assuming he join let's say a team like udinese they would have won the Seria A at least once gone to multiple champions league.

I know that's over reaching but it is very possible if their chances of doing that before Messi was ten now it's at 45-50% that's how good he is.

I'm not a blind Messi fan my guy miss for the final but then he is 39 against the best version of Spain I have ever seen they did the same to France Total domination, France with all their players of mass destruction 1st 2nd and 3rd teams are elite and decent a real Super team what's Argentina? I knew they would lose if not for Martinez Spain for spell Maradona.

CR7 has records that none of your so called greatest can reach. So how is he not the among the greatest? Sorry but CR7 is among the greatest.
For me the top five is .

Messi

Pele

Ronaldo

Maradona

Johan Cruyff.

In that order.

I look at what Messi did here alongside all that Argentina showed at this WC and I just shake my head, especially at those who defend this nonsense.

Utterly useless in the final. Absolutely ghosted. And still resorted to dark and classless tricks like this...

Anyone calling this guy greater than Pele is surely a Cheat, cut-corners individual and the biggest clown anywhere.😂

3 WC titles from 4 WCs vs 1 WC title from 6 WCs... Winner vs Sore Loser. I know and you also know who the actual GOAT is but yes, let the "delusionalists" keep yapping. 😂😆

How many teams competed in the world cup during Pele's time it shouldn't be more than 16

Brazil then was a big fish in a small pond .

TheGoodJoe:
Messi was absolutely brilliant at the world cup. However, Rodri was on another level. Many still do not understand what Rodri and Spain did. They took football to another level. The final itself showed the strength of total dominance and Rodri was a key part of the chain. If you understand it from that point, you will know Rodri was the best player.

Not the same with WYC 2005. Messi was not the best player in that tourney.
100% I don't know why some people are saying rodri didn't deserve the award he definitely did Messi too deserved it so since only one could have it they let the final decide assuming Messi didn't pull an aang and tried to influence that match I believe he might have just taken it but my guy vanished when we needed him the most. Not his fault though back were dey carry load every time go one day bend.
