Carot:IK Uche knew he will not make Keshi team after Afcon due personal differences that occured during Afcon 2013...Westerhoff wasn't impressed with Ugbade, needed perfect left foot player and Mike Emenalo fitted the bill, hope you remember Emenalo later played 3 out of 4 matches due to Iroha injury and did very well...Ameobi performance against Italy gave him the chance...yes Osaze opened criticism of national team coaches almost worked against him,if you don't know during 2010 WC Osaze almost disrupt camp due to coach preference for Chinedu Obasi over him....he did the same thing to Samson Siasia during Olympics games...so some coaches hate such attitude... |

Wage shouldn't be an issue to be honest. Just have to negotiate on the other ancillary income he would be getting on his salary. Things like image rights and all. If there is a will, something will happen. mostob: |

Papi85:Obafemi Martins was called, played against Kenya or Ethiopia and that was his worst outing for eagles....Haruna Lukmam replaced Mikel in 2010 and his performance was abysmal so no way in 2014...Keshi picked Osaze over Imoh... injury dealt with Obasi...Ajagun was with under 20 team then....prior to 2013 Afcon there was disciplinary issue between Keshi and Taye similar to that of IK Uche. |

Kog45:I didn't know about the Osaze wahala. Meanwhile it was local.coaches that brought same Osaze into the national team. Meanwhile, Keshi and IK eventually reconciled after the WC. I recall Keshi invited IK's brother but he declined the invite. Ideye Brown was his boy but I don't know what happened between them. But after all said and done, Uchebo, ameobi were disappointments at that world cup. Some other players Keshi promoted into the team did well though, the likes of Onazi, Efe Ambrose, Oshaniwon, Babatunde |

Papi85:Chukwueze is such a frustrating player, one moment he will blow your mind away with his electrifying football and other moments you will feel like ripping off your hair at how carefree he plays... the boy is exciting to watch...that's why it pains me to see he has never really gotten it all together due to his inconsistency problems. He will have one or two really good game and then go on to gave 5 more bad games consecutively./video/1?s=46 |

Ifeanyi Ndukwe olayed for Liverpool against Sunderland today. 6 ft 6 defender, played for Austria at U17, has a Russian mother. Also Samuel Ogunsuyi played for Sunderland, capped at U17 for Belgium too. We really need to play in the next WC, it would make us more attractive to all Nigerians far and wide, our diasporans are always welcome. All Nigerian players irrespective of location are welcome. That said, we have to develop our local front, so much opportunities at home for our economy if sports is well developed at home. |

TheSuperNerd:Some Flying Eagles lads to watch @2026WafuBU20 #9 Abdoulaye Agbejoye Said, CF (Grassrunners FC) - 6️⃣ Abdoulaye was MVP and Top Scorer of the 2025/26 U19 National Youth League (South-West Conference - 15 teams) with 19 goals, 5 assists in 22 games (1,329 mins) leading Grassrunners to top spot and earning them a place in the NY-league Super 8 which saw them make the final against Muiz Adeleke's Sporting Supreme (Check the previous Flying Eagles 2026 watch series to see what the outcome was). Abdoulaye Said Agbejoye Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8szp_w0pdAw?si=WfQ2AmRVCQLXEYdE The 6ft 4in 18y/o striker is akin to a gangling force in the final third. Good linkup plays, balance and a true poacher. Even SkySports Germany ran a small check on the lad tagging him the Nigerian Erling Haaland...
NB: Grassrunners are the same club that sold winger, Angelo Agbejoye to Swedish side, Djurgardens IF in the current 2026 summer window especially after he was heavily linked with AIK as Zadok's replacement. Angelo should have been part of the WafuB U20 squad but his new deal means he is in Sweden and unavailable for this tournament. Arteta badly wants Bruno Guimaraes so Arsenal will bag him. Vini Jr for all his attitude excesses is the number 1 LW on the planet. Even PSG's Kvara and Bayern's Luis Diaz bow to Vini Jr. Arteta and everyone at Arsenal know they will be getting a gamechanger and the best in his position in the world in a role Arsenal needs serious Upgrade. Omo, Arteta wont mind at all. The only blip here is reports of Mourinho saying Vini should be kept. But recall Vini and Mourinho had a huge misunderstanding over the Prestianni situation in the UCL. Vini may not been keen on working with Mou but time will tell. Also, if Florentino Perez has his way, Vini will be sold because they are already spending big on a similar profile in Yan Diomande. Madrid needs to make sales to balance the squad and fund even moves for Rodri. Don Perez sold C.Ronaldo in a UCL-winning season to Juventus. So nobody is untouchable to Perez if he means to do business. Lol mostob: |

And about Vini's wages. I read that the Arsenal board are willing to make him one of the top earners in Europe. Time will tell though... Summer window till long. Sept 1 is the busstop. mostob: |
