This is the North we're talking about. The governors have little to no influence on who they vote for presidential elections.

I'm the 2003/2007/2011 elections, the North voted massively for Buhari even though he barely had any governors in his camp.

If Atiku is seen as the Northern champion the way Buhari was, then he would get those same votes.

You are absolutely correct bearing in mind that 60% of northerners will vote for Atiku. NDC will only get presidential vote in Kano due to Kwankwaso's influence.
The south is already divided between Obi, Makinde and BAT.

A candidate doesn't need the South East to win elections.

The constitution has ensured that the SE is useless and that why it states 25% in 2/3 states. That's 24 states. Meanwhile, we have 36.
That's why Buhari won without the SE twice and Tinubu won once.
SE is not important in any election.

One CPC governor in 2011 is irrelevant. And for the 2003 and 2007 elections, he had no single governor. Governors are irrelevant for presidential elections in the North.

If Atiku has inherited Buhari's place in the minds of Northerners, he would get their votes.

Buhari helped Tinubu during the election,if Buhari wanted to stop tinubu,he would have done so during the primary.Buhari never announced a candidate during the primaries,it was all speculation.And Buhari campaigned for tinubu after he won the primary

Tinubu will come first or second in almost every state in Nigeria in 2027. The SE states where Tinubu will not win, he will come a distant second. He will come first or second in the SS states. He will win all the six SW states. The only state Tinubu might not come first or second is Kano. I believe Obi will win Kano and Atiku will come second.

Tinubu coming first or second in over thirty states is a big plus for him. In some states, he will even come close second. Since we don't practice the America-styled electoral college system in Nigeria, coming second in a state is not necessarily bad. Tinubu came second in Lagos in 2023, yet his highest votes from any state came from Lagos.

I am not totally predicting a Tinubu win in 2027. But, you can interpret my earlier points whichever way you like.

Atiku has no structure in Kano. In 2023, he hit about 180k votes. With the current situation, he’s even worse off in the state.

Even with Kwakwanso on the top ballot in 2023, Tinubu came a very close second. In 2027, APC is extremely strong in the state while the Kwakwanso movement has been seriously depleted. A one man kwakwanso who is now playing second fiddle to an Ibo Christian is at his weakest point. Tinubu will either win Kano or lose the state marginally like 2023. Atiku will come very distant third as his party is very weak in the state.

Funny enough, I agree with nearly all your points, but a few. Let me face those I don't agree with.

Firstly, with Kwankwaso not on the ballot, Tinubu will get more votes than Atiku in the North. The problem Atiku has is that Northern politicians with eyes on 2031 will sabotage Atiku. Some are not looking at contesting, they just want to be relevant in 2031 so they can cut deals with whoever is coming.

Secondly, Tinubu will take SW, NC (Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Taraba, Nassarawa, Kwara) and minimum of 5 SS states (Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa, Edo). Obi will take his SE and maybe Cross River.

Another thing is that with Kwankwaso on Obi's side, it takes his supporters to NDC. These are people who would have voted Atiku.

Of the 3 candidates, Tinubu will score the highest number of votes.
