Hello house,

Please, which of these two SUVs would you recommend for a large family?

First option
1) Honda Pilot 2019 or

2) Toyota highlander 2019
Which one of the two above would you recommend.


The second option is
1) Honda Pilot 2018 or

2) Toyota highlander 2018

Highlander for the win always.

Both model years are in the same bracket for both models I believe.

Honda pilot has got a few tricks,Apple car play and Android Auto out of the box, A real SUV with the strength to take more road beating than the highlander. Though interms of reliability highlander tops by a few margin.

Fuel economy highlander is better in city, while the pilot tops in highway.

Third row seat
The pilot has better seating arrangement, more leg room than the highlander and bigger cargo space.

V6 engine
I would prefer the highlander timing chained engines to the pilot timing belt engine. That's just my personal preference because I won't have to worry about fake belt or maintenance of changing belt especially since it is an interference engine.

Consider equivalent trim levels

The EX and EX-L trims of the pilot have more but the highlander limited and XLE comes very close.

Both vehicles are good and on the same league.. more reliability and abundance of oem used parts. Go for highlander.

Honda will be more fun to drive but i will advice to check carfax report because of the popular rod bearing recall. No genuine parts or even technical knowhow to fix it in Nigeria.

Why would you compare Honda pilot to Highlander. Bro please Avoid all those chatgtp responses above me and go for Highlander if you want to enjoy peace of mind.

The highlander has it all but not as good as the pilot. Engine similar to that of the Toyota Sienna and rx350. It also has a start and stop feature that helps save fuel and it works when you’re in traffic, or when you’re not in motion for some seconds, the car engine stops running but everything is working, the ac, sound system et al but when you remove your leg from the brake, the engine automatically starts and sounds like you’re starting a car and you zoom off.


If you want a car with easy maintenance, normal handling and better second hand value, go for the highlander but if you want a car with better engine performance, great driving experience and handling unique features, enough room for everyone and more affordable go for the pilot

Highlander has it higher than Pilot, both are great SUVs though

Never compare Toyota with Honda for any comparative year models.
Toyota wins hands down! Peace of mind!

The Honda Pilot is a tougher SUV than the Highlander. It also has better build quality and comes with premium infotainment media unit. If I were to choose, I'll go with the Pilot each time.

Anything Honda count me out

in my own experience hondas are more sexy than toyotas
but toyotas are more reliable

First of all, watch common problems with both car model on YouTube, then decide which one of them has lesser issues to deal with.

I only go for Highlander. If you don't want then go for RX350, my best advice.

Honda would be my first choice if I were in Europe or America, but in Africa, especially in Nigeria, Toyota rules.
Our mechanics or auto engineers don't know much about other brands but Toyota.

Depends on what ure looking for in an suv. Second value give it to the highlander.

The pilot is only better in the touring options.

spot on bro. My exact opinion. EV is the future. 5 years from now. Petrol vehicles will be rotting in dealerships with no one to buy. Nissan is already getting hammered

There are some questions you shouldn't be asking, Highlander has one of the strongest engines you can ever imagine.

Honda is more comfortable while ruggedness and second hand value is for highlander.

Considering the Specs, third row seat, Engine and Performance, I recommend Volvo XC90 for you. The car is damn strong and underrated.

Got a 2018 highlander for 6 years now, the only thing we have done on the car is change tyre, change brake pads and light bulbs. Go for Highlander
